Those who are very conversant with the Nigerian Stock Exchange, please help me out here. I bought about 500 units of Fidelity Bank's shares at N3.50 as far back as 2007 (A friend of mine convinced me to use my JAMB fee at the time to invest, that I would become a millionaire in no distant time, Lol). I have totally forgotten about the shares since the stock exchange market "collapsed". I am just curious now, what is the actual value of the shares now, considering that Fidelity Bank's shares are at N2.41 as of 29/7/2021? Is there any dividend that may have accrued to me? I changed address since about 9 years ago. They used to send cheques of N40 and thereabouts to my former place of residence. What happens to those cheques if not claimed? |

Chatflick:Hi |
Enilovesam:You should have attached projected capital to each to help those who would love to consider any. |
CrossRiverian:Your Moniker caught my attention! We could be sisters you know? Or are you one of those Nairaland guys acting like Ladies? ![]() |
LONIC:Thank you! |
Your story first of all, funny, then again, reflects the sad reality of the Nigerian society. Mention one sector, industry or agency in nigeria that is not replete with rotten people. At the rate Nigeria is going, one might be tempted to say that the entity, Nigeria may soon cease to exist! |
BlueBanana:Sorry, I have been preoccupied. I will check and reply now. |
BlueBanana:Okay bro! I will be expecting your message. |
doggedfighter:Will sure do |
Of course the vegetable will sign the Northern People Beneficiary bill soon! The original version of that bill has been going on and off Aso Rock with the president withholding assent. Now that the owners of Southern oil have included a clause that favours them the most, the terrorist, jihadist pedophile will sign it soon! My worry is that Sylva, whose people stand to suffer the most is spearheading this shame of a bill. How can a barren North get 30% while the owners get a paltry 2.5% derivatives? I hate to admit, but Nigeria is almost becoming a zoo. |
nwadikeokey11:Thanks man. I will take a one week trip down to Kigali for surveillance and assess the situation of things. That would guide my choice. I always knew there was something extra special about that country and it has been the first choice of African countries to settle in. Once again, thank you very much. I will update you when I go there. |
NCCnomzy:That would be awesome. My next stop is Senegal, if all goes as planned and it would be great to have company from our darling Nairaland. |
nwadikeokey11:Yeah, I have read about the development of that country and it sounds like they are the new hub and future darling of Africa. Have you lived there? If yes, what is the nature of power supply? I am a digital marketing consultant (SEO) so I will only settle in a country with abundant power supply. I am currently in Ghana but the people here are more xenophobic than South Africans. The power here is out of this world. In three months, there might be just ONE interruption which does not last one hour. I mean you have your A.C or fan as the case may be, running for three to four months straight. I wonder how the Ghanaians got it right and we(Nigeria) are still miles behind. |
Odingo1:Thanks man, for being very Frank and helpful. |
Bullman:How about accommodation? Is it pay as you live or lump sum payment? Weekly, yearly? Cost? |
Odingo1:That has always been my drawback about migrating to Europe or America. I will just rather take my family for vacation, when we can afford it. For vacation, I always fancy UAE, it's cheap and classy at the same time. One can never understand the freedom you enjoy being in your place of natural birth till you lose it. I have moved around for quite a while I understand the limitations you have being a foreigner. But maybe in an African country, it would be better, especially, with the ECOWAS member states. In terms of power supply, can you compare it to Ghana? |
feelgoodstuffs:Thanks bro. I will settle for either Rwanda, Tanzania and now probably Gambia. I was hoping for Germany. I have the opportunity to go, but I don't want to mess up my core African values. Go abroad, make plenty money, marry either a white woman and all your life ends there. Come back and marry a local woman, she gets there and becomes a titan. I just weak. I want to be closer to home. Enjoy Lagos, Abuja, Calabar(my home state) and shuttle between Nigeria and any of the aforementioned that I decide to settle. I like peace. |
feelgoodstuffs:That's awesome! How power supply in Gambia? I want to tour more than six African countries before this year ends. I have achieved three already. Working towards Senegal by August! |
Gosj001:I need something at the very minimum, with just internet facilities. I will get ten pieces once and subsequent, ten and so on! My budget is 250k for the 10 pieces! Do you think you can deliver that? |

Okay, very often, internet users cut corners to communicate with images that illustrate their thoughts at the time of communication online. We most times use meme, GIF or static photo to Express or support a point. The question is; have you or has anyone you know personally been involved in a viral meme?

So much for fighting corruption! The governor has immunity, which is understandably. Why protect his family, his obvious fronts? |
Bull-hari is not just a terrorist, but a thief and hardened criminal. There's only a few ways he'd end: The Hague, 6ft before his tenure elapsed or his unfortunate son suffers the omen that is destined for him. He will never end well. You can't trample on the fundamental rights of people, take away their various means of livelihoods and expect to be spared. Providence will punish the jihadist and parasite that has lived on taxpayers money all his life. His children and his children's children will suffer for this. |
Nbotee:Go and read "How Europe under developed Africa" - by Walter Rodney and enlighten yourself. |
After making things so difficult for them to do business. From the ridiculous NIN and SIM connection, to Twitter ban, to heavy tax and sanctions, you want them to make life easier for Nigerians, to do your job for you. Buhari is the only president that everything is done for him. Dude controls the security apparatus, yet sent governors away when they went to seek means to insecurity. How I would love to have Bubu and Vladimir Putin in the same room! ![]() |
DrayZee:You are smart. This is the best angle to look at this news. |
Kuginzi:Get the fvck out of my mention, Z.ombie!
