Same here too. NSE update on Nov 26 (did not submit anything document till date), medical passed on Dec 2nd, eligibility review started Dec 3. No update since then
MadeMan01:

Nothing like that with me, October 9 applicant. Last update I got was December 3 when my eligibility review started. My upfront medical was passed November 23.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by iampaulsmith(m): 12:33pm On Dec 09, 2020
I don’t think you should defer. It states that they started reviewing your NSE document on the 1st of Dec. The Nigeria Student Express is faster processing route which means that you should get a response soon enough so keep calm. I hope the gurus will add theirs too
akinajibola:
Please I need help with deciding if to defer my admission below is my application timeline.

My school resumes winter semester classes Jan 11th. With the way things are it not likely I meet classes. In addition to this, I cant apply for refund after Jan 22nd 2021. New student are not admitted in spring semester so I have to wait till Sept 2021.

Today's the day. Finally. smiley

Just a quick check:
I have my LOI, stamped passport, proof of enrollment, LOA, Funding award letter (as POF), and ArriveCAN receipt.

Do I need any other thing?

I didn't do COVID-19 test and I'm flying with Ethiopia Airlines.

Really. With the way they started their service then I thought you would have received it already. But have you received your counterfoil or even LOI?
SKEPTA:

still at IRCC Accra
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by iampaulsmith(m): 12:23am On Dec 09, 2020
Most schools I know allow students to defer as long as a year.
As for the NSE, they didn’t specify Academic or General. As long as you have a score of 6.0 in all the sections, you are good to go. Did you indicate that you have an IELTS result while filling your SP application? Then you can even go ahead and get a MBS and upload it via a webform. Nothing is too much.
Oluwayemisi0507:
@sleekcheek, Thank you so much for your response. I will book my medical appointment tomorrow. As for the ielts, there is no ielts test for Lagos this year again and the only date in Abuja is this Saturday, 12th December.

I really I'm hoping for the best.

By the way, I wrote an ielts test last year July but it is Ielts general and I feel it will send a wrong signal if I attach that.

What do you think

Please guys, contribute ooooo.

Nagode.

November 26 is late for someone that wants to resume Winter 2021. All you can do now is to pray and hope for a fast processing time. Yes the medical can also help reduce the processing time. Was your first admission letter for Fall 2020?
I’m sure frank and frat will have a better advice for you. Just wait for them.
Oluwayemisi0507:
Please house, read this post and help with a reply.
Thank you.

Just go for it and trust God. It was the day my medical was updated to pass that my eligibility review also started. You just don’t know what will trigger your application. It will end in praise.
awys:

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by iampaulsmith(m): 4:24pm On Dec 08, 2020

OtunbaTee:

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by iampaulsmith(m): 3:38pm On Dec 08, 2020
No NSE? No eligibility review too?
OtunbaTee:

It’s basically the same thing. Going to the bank to print it out and scan is a longer process compared to using the one sent to your mail. As long as it carries the ticket number and password like the picture attached.
demure178:

Should I submit it my bank statement as a soft copy been sent to my email from the bank? Instead of going into the bank to printout the statement and scan?

Yea but that was before the pandemic but perhaps one of those who recently travelled here can answer that question.

Thank you but do you know if someone has gone to Canada early and was able to enter

SKEPTA what’s the update regarding your passport in Ghana?
SKEPTA:

I really don’t know much about NSE..Maybe one of the more knowledge people on here could help you.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by iampaulsmith(m): 8:32am On Dec 08, 2020
No, it’s not too early considering the fact that you will have to quarantine for 14days. That means you will be out by Jan 4 which is two weeks to the start of your program.

Ppretty:
Hey is arriving Dec 21st for a start date of jan 18th is too early? Does any one know anyone who landed successfully in Canada about a month before thier start date?

You can also include the mybankstatement when submitting your application and the IELTS test result. Your application will automatically be processed with the NSE. If you submit the MBS and don’t submit the IELTS result, they will only ask for the IELTS to process your application with the NSE route
demure178:

If am going through NSE, would I attached my bank statement login details with it, or wait for the request letter?

Just upload the ielts result as it is still valid. Then print a mybankstatement in the account that has the POF. It will end in praise.

awys:

A friend got this mail when she sent a mail to Qlife to book for a medical exam. Seems like both centres are unavailable at the moment.
lamlohlah:

Dont register at IOM clinic , they have been collecting people money and telling them to come back new year for upfront medical.

Useless clinic , after collecting my money and they came up with plenty stories. I haven't done my upfront medical till now . waiting for qlife date.

I got a mail when the eligibility review started on my application. I can’t say if it was the same for others. Who knows it might just appear on your GCkey.
davo99:
An update on my application.
Applied Nov. 3rd
Biometrics done: Nov. 13th
Did upfront Medical: Nov. 19th
Medicals updated as Passed: Nov. 27th
Biometrics updated to completed: Nov. 30th.
So it currently says my Background check is being processed.
----------------------------------------------------------
A question though, do we get to get an email when the background check is updated and eligibility review starts? Or are they done side by side and get completed together?
-----------------------------------------------------------
Finally, I decided to send webforms and mails to Beijing & Nairobi asking that my application be processed via NSE route, then I attached the MyBankStatement and IELTS Academic documents. (Note: I did not get the NSE invite mail, so I just basically tried for trying sake since I have the docs)

yeah sure
but like they are a lot organized, they even called me to confirm that they had received it

When did you submit it to the DHL office? Just trying to see how long it took to get there
SKEPTA:

sending to acrra via dhl is 27,500 and you also have to pay 378 cedes for transmission fee and return courier

ecobank nigeria won’t do it, they’ll tell you to go and use western union or moneygram

i ended up using a bureau de change in ghana to do it i paid 31k for 378 cedes for something that was meant to be 26k

The whole accra thing is a lot
They’re organized yes, but my passport isn’t back to me and i haven’t even gotten counterfoil or loi yet , It got to accra last wednesday, got tracking number on monday

One needs to be sure. Ghana is not Lagos where you can storm at any time . I’m sure Skepta will keep us posted on his case.

Dampops:
Someone used VFS Ghana in late October and even shared their payment details here. He didn’t give a feedback or maybe I missed it. The general feeling is that Niamey or Ghana can’t be as overwhelmed as Lagos and Abuja

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by iampaulsmith(m): 8:03am On Dec 03, 2020
Just book your medical with QLIFE. Don’t bother to try IOM at all. Someone here complained that IOM is no longer attending to upfront medical.
West0099:
Please can someone help me on the medicals aspect pls i did my biometric last month want to do the medicals and police report all upfront.

This thing is confusing oo. Some sent to Lagos and got a mail that their passport has been sent to Abuja. You sent your passport to Abuja and still got a mail that it has been sent to Lagos.
But it seems like Abuja is a better option to Lagos. We the upcoming batch dey learn o grin smiley
Jesusrules24:
It has ended in praise!

I sent my passport November 5th to Abuja VFS via, DHL.... 2 way courier.

About 3 - 4 days later, I got the acknowledgement from VFS.

And then I got an email saying my passport was sent to Lagos. (Which I didn't understand since I sent to Abuja.)
I received several other emails, counterfoil and letter of introduction.

Long story short, I received my passport yesterday via DHL.

I didn't have to call or send a message to VFS.

If you can, send your passport to Abuja VFS. Lagos VFS seems to be wasting too many people's time.

It shall end in praise for us all in Jesus Name.

Go ahead and get a new mybankstatement showing 12 months banking history. You will be fine!

DCNM:
My initial statement wasn't upto 30k cad but current balance is upto 30k cad and the inflow was captured in some legal documents previously uploaded in my application
