The truth is, this New Tax Law can widen the poverty gap, especially among the middle class. There’s really no debate about that.

If people earning between ₦67,000 - ₦249,000 a month will have to pay 15% in Personal Income Tax despite the sudden and outrageous increases in electricity tariffs, fuel prices, foodstuff, medicines, and other essential goods, then we should be genuinely concerned. I mean the so-called middle-income earners. Those who are earning ₦250,000 above will pay more than 15%.

See, some of you who are already rich might not bother. You may even want to insult me for this post, but I strongly advise you not to. This post has nothing to do with politics; it is about welfare economics.

Here is the simple truth: a government should not aggressively tax a population that is already economically distressed. That is the plain reality.

I understand that the current federal government prioritises revenue generation over poverty reduction, but there should still be some level of sensitivity.

Nigeria’s population is currently among the poorest in the world. This new tax law will not close the poverty gap; if anything, it risks widening it.

All cars need to warm up at least 1 minute before driving out. The engines are mechanical components and need to be lubricated before driving.

A report carried out by a company concerning catastrophic car engine damages, they found out that these damage usually occurs during engine start up and warming up.

For me, after start up, I allow the rev needle to move to below 1000rx, before engaging the gears.

And the chief mechanic is not a Nigerian. Anyway, I'm not disputing your opinion but only expressing my thoughts based on what I observed.

I have known this for many years and yet I am surprised u are using those agbero mechanic to prove ur points.

Why are u then educated? I am telling u that it is not compulsory to warm ur car before driving.

Google is there for u counter me and here u are using motor park mechanics to compare.

Driving cars produced from 1990 to present day does not need to be warmed before driving.

Reason is thus:
1. Fuel,synthetic oil and faster acting components eliminate the need to idle. U can read it up yourself.

My car Manuel explained all this to me and that is why my CRV of 10years has been fantastic till date.


U can read it up online for better clarity. But I have known this for long sha.

I was born in Lagos,I am from Abia,I schooled in Lagos and further my education in the east.

I had my IT in Abuja,travelled to Plateau,Kebbi,Ph,Oyo State Ogun states,Nasarawa state,Kogi state Niger state,Ogun state. IMO AND ENUGU are my second home.

From the available records,no town in Nigeria is built up like the Eastern Region. We don't just beat our chest...we talk and do it.

So,to argue less with u as the father that travels more than me, use ur Google and ask that question.

Ask Google which region is built up aside Lagos in Nigeria? Then after the answer,u can rest and stop arguing blindly.

When I was reading estate management at the University,we were made to understand that people build house for various reasons such as:
Prestige.
Status.
Investments.
Security.
Aesthetics, Cultural and
Emotional reasons.

I wrote something that looks like this some years back about those old men still living in their fathers houses doing nothing for a living,wasting away.

After posting it,I received some insults for the few disgruntled ones and luckily,someone testified how that singular write up changed his life.

I just feel,the few reasonable ones here would tap into this and move to change their lives for the better and do so starting this new year we are heading to.
