DMerciful: They cannot do that against Nigerian constitution.
Why haven't they done it? Tinubu's grip in Lagos will not last more than 12trs from now It will get there soon and it will be done. And also remember the constitution is not cast in stones (not reliable) and can be amended and will possibly be amended. The Yorubas have the political influence, the clout and allies to do it. Other Nigerians will support the amendment to protect their own land too. Nobody envisaged that SE people are willing to abandon their homeland to move into someone else’s ancestral territory enmass. Enough is enough sir. We are getting there. You can cry to UN EU ICC Donald Trump etc… it won’t work because you have your own land. You will say I hate Igbos , that’s gaslighting and I don’t give a hoot. Read the room sir. |

SmartPolician: The problem of Nigeria can be categorised as lack of purposeful leadership and bunch of idiots supporting daft leaders. We don't even know how tough leadership is.
Until we have leaders that compel our school system to buy into that idea, Nigeria will always be an observer in robotics because it costs so much research efforts and money to build those. Here we go again, blame leadership! Good people don’t produce bad leadership, it is absolutely impossible! We have a poor quality population of people who are reckless, lawless, disorderly, highly dishonest, ignorant, and particularly difficult to govern. Our society grooms and CREATES the kind of leaders we have. Let us acknowledge and address this fact first. The world is changing too fast and we must find our own comparative advantage within it. Or perish |

TRUTHaDDICTED: When you talk about Atiku defeating Peter Obi, what exactly is your definition of the word "defeat"? We know how the primary selection is done, it's strictly about who can bribe or lobby more, which you know is not in Peter Obi's character, Peter Obi believes in Equity, Transparency, Credibility and Fairness. He doesn't play criminal or desperate line of politics. If a proper election is conducted based on credibility, qualifications and on a level play of transparency, who's Atiku when Obi Standing. This is delusional o 🤔 |

If Southeast had been the federal capital for 20 years, Lagosians would be trooping to the Southeast as well.......
Lagos was a federal capital and got federal funds for over 2 decades.....It was not Lagos indigenes that built Lagos. Federal funds did. Before we go any further please clarify your understanding of the difference between Lagos FCT and Lagos State. They are not one and the same. And why was the FCT moved/relocated to Abuja (at the very centre of the country)? |

Jebba,Idah,Onitsha and Niger are not insisting on indigeneship or assuming a hostile stance towards non-indigenes. Lagos needs to calm down Ekó oni baajé The primary job of a man and the main reason for his birth is to DEVELOP and PROSPER his fatherland!!! Nigeria is a geographical space not a coherent or homogeneous entity. The south east is in great distress and confusion, and it is putting up all sorts of bogus narratives to mask their pitiful condition. This is the result of unrestrained covetous envy of the Yorubas and their Lagos. |

Politics › Re: Lagos Launches Digital Indigeneship Certificate by ibedun: 1:15pm On Nov 14, 2025 |
malali: This is illegal and unconstitutional on a federal level.
The Lagos State Indigeneship Automated Certificate is a sleekly disguised form of digital discrimination.
By institutionalizing “indigene status,” the government effectively divides residents into first-class citizens and others, contradicting the 1999 Constitution’s guarantee of equality and freedom from discrimination (Section 42).
In a cosmopolitan state built by migrants, codifying ancestry into a digital gatekeeper for access to schools, jobs, or benefits is regressive. It risks excluding millions of Lagos-born Nigerians whose families migrated generations ago.
Automation doesn’t sanitize bias, it only makes discrimination more efficient.
The Attorney General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi should step in and uphold the constitution.
Lagos hosts the most federal assets that belong to all Nigerians, resources paid for with federal allocations, not state funds. Just as Delta has oil wells, Niger State has hydroelectric power serving the entire country, and Kano’s groundnuts once fed all Nigerians in the 1970s, Lagos too benefited from contributions from across the nation.
Did anyone think the Third Mainland Bridge was built solely with Lagos State funds?
For this reason, any discrimination by Lagos against a Hausa, Yoruba,Igbo or any Nigerian citizen is completely unconstitutional. If push comes to shove (which has already started) we the Yorubas will commence constitutional amendments to introduce restrictions and safeguards to prevent and minimise economic scavengers from other regions (especially the particular loudmouthed one well known to the Yorubas). |
