are you confused? Check this movement,,if pendulum Bob is moving like dat manner in the picx,thats vertical movement,because the movement is moving to the vertical axis Cc natureboy91

Then, connect (+) of ammeter to the bulb down to (-)of voltmeter to the jockey. Hope, this helps: ibroh22, condomsir, readers. thanks,,this is not how I connect it,,,,I will check that up |

CondomSir: Unfortunately, i'm using a small java phone right now. i used someone's phone to upload in the afternoon.
let me try to explain..
set up the apparatus as show in the diagram. Hold the two ends of the metre rule, now use your left hand to pull one end towards you and use the right hand to push the other end away from you. Now release the metre rule and allow it perform a to-and-fro movement about its vertical axis through its centre.
I hope this helps this is horizontal movement,,the metre rule is moving on same plane |

NatureBoy91: It should be increasing & not decreasing. Current is directly proportional to Voltage. Use the values I gave u instead. It should go in 1s & not 0s. If nt why did they require of 0-5 A/Vmeter instead of 0-3 A/Vmeter. yes,,, that's why I said my values are wrong,,the connection is not right,,I have two positive wire connected to the bulb,which shld not be so |

CondomSir: Thanks to the man who called me from Offa, Kwara state now. He wants you guys to air your views on his opinion. It makes a lot of sense to me though.
This can be applied instead of going through the stress of performing the practical. It also confirms the trend that as x increases, V and I also increase. You can confirm with the other values of x=20,30,40,50 and 60cm.
starting from the second image
cc Natureboy91 ibroh22 this makes lots of sense,,,but u can compare theory with practical,,,,the you know the value of Ur current is o.265 which cannot be obtainable on the ammeter reading,which explains my value of 0.3A for the first one is correct,which is obtainable from your calculation if you approximate 0.26 to 0.3,,,,,the reason you can't use the theory stuff is dat,what u will get as answer will not be obtainable on the voltmeter and ammeter reading which justify the reason you should Carry out the experiment truly modified Another thing is that,when you are performing the practical,ur EMF cannot be exactly 3.0v,it will be slightly less than 3.0v,,,,,,but what I see in this calculation is that,we can use it to predict our answers in the practical |

CondomSir: I connected the circuit exactly the way it is in the past question.
I connected it such that the ammeter is in series with the potentiometer and voltmeter is in parallel with it. the cells and key are in series with the potentiometer. While the voltmeter, ammeter and the bulb are connected in series. I connected the jockey to the positive terminal of the voltmeter..
Please put me through if this connection of mine is wrong. i will try and snap the connection so you can see.
If you have perfected yours, please kindly help me with readings. this is my number

Thanks Check your connection,,you shld have 2 wires connected to one wire of the potentiometer making three wires connected at point P,one from ammeter, one from voltmeter and the wire originally on the potentiometer ( I connected all the negative wires in this aspect that's black wire),I connected the positive red wire of the ammeter and the positive red wire of the voltmeter to the bulb,i trim Part of the red voltmeter wire and use anoda wire to join from dat trim side to the Jockey,,,,the other positive side of the potentiometer is going to the positive side of the battery,while the negative side of the potentiometer where there are three connected wires go to the negative side of the battery...that's the connection N.B: I didn't use key because we don't have and we couldn't get it,so I joined the wire together directly at that point |

CondomSir: I tried performing the Q3 too. At first, when I used the jockey to make contacts with the potentiometer, the ammeter and voltmeter gave values like 1.2A and 0.7V. But now both of them are not even moving at all. I have tried severally but they aren't making any distortion. And the readings in the past question I have are wrong. Could you please help me around this or if you could give me readings from the ones you have done or have.
Thanks maybe your connection is wrong,,,,wen I did mine,for 10cm am getting like 3A,0.7v,,,,,,and it will start reducing as the potentiometer distance is increasing |

N:B- don't take dugbe cab from mokola cos where they will drop you,u will have to trek to the railway cos it's not far,but for a first timer dat wants to avoid asking,its advisable to take bike from mokola,dey will drop u in front of their office If you are taking offa route which they will pass Osogbo,drop at Iwo road,take a cab going to mokola roundabout,from mokola, take bike going dugbe as mentioned above I hope you got this.. |
