Obiagu1: Remit or borrow more? There is always payback time, and when it comes the effects are not always good on the administration on ground. Check what happened to plateau state. Development was almost in a halt because the administrations where busy serving debts that were borrowed by other regimes. The government even found it difficult to pay civil servants. Let Fashola keep borrowing. Debt na debt,it must surely be paid with interest. |

proproman: i am really disappointed in some Nairalanders. How some of una go dey reason like dis?
You all know what Jonathan did or did not mean. for one, Jonathan did not mention anyone's name, the thread poster just created blanks and then filled them in. Most of you just know this just a case of wrong choice of words but some rabble rousers here just want to get people to hate on Jonathan. All Jonathan was trying to imply was that the PDP has the best candidates in the coming elections. While I definitely don't agree with that, I don't think its best to simply ignore what he obviously meant in favour of what he did not just because you don't endorse his aspirations. an obvious case of wrong choice of words some people here are taking advantage of here.
before anyone starts calling me a GEJ zombie, lemme just make it clear that I don't have a reputation of being one, wether on Nairaland or elsewhere. infact i am very pro fashola as some of my posts will attest. however, i can't stand the blatant misinformation going on here, its things like this that are pulling this country backwards.
(and before you post a reply to a thread, PLEASE READ THE FIRST POST. I can tell some people didn't read beyond the thread's title) Please tell them again!!! |

Akainzo: Ibro, when you say someone excels more than others, then you should not shy away from mentioning it. Ok, to help you out, just list 6 things he has excelled at more than previous presidents. Am smarter than all this argument you guys are trying to bring up here. Once i begin to mention you will always find way to castigate, because you have a different ideology since you cant see the ones am seeing. When i said "he excels" , I mean he does well not necessary in comparison with others but in results output. The power reform thats is going on now, to be frank are we not on track with GEJ? He achieved what has not been achieved in ten years, and he is still doing more. |

Some just saw the headline and started ranting blablabla please read the thread to the very end and tell me where Fashola or anybody name show up, this is serious for goodness sake do many understand simple English and interpretation of words?
Come to the reality southwest was well known for political thugerry was it not right? So what is the story now that the NL house is on fire whenever Jonathan just say anything fire spacks this is very unfortunate. Look at OYO state in particular this state has not be peace ever in any democratic set up all sorts of political bandit in southwest always spring up from that state and some other place around it. The statement of Gej is just a kind of generalised statement so I cant understand what is the big deal in what he said. No offense please. I beg tell them oh. People are just ignorant. GEJ will be the most celebrated President in Nigeria. This is he has gone through more difficult challenges and criticism than any past president or head of state and he still excels. |

What GEJ said is correct and Good " Southwest should not be left in the hands of Rascals"
No party was mentioned. If u guys keep mentioning fashola and ACN governors as the rascals, then fine.
All i know he said is that, As long as your a rascal in the southwest, you will not be allowed to rule. Period!!!
I still dey laugh, GEJ will still amazed you guys as he did Atiku.
Ribadu, Buhari, Shekarau and the rest are not march for him now. Better see this clearly and stop all this propaganda. |

Reference: I don't quite agree with you here. Pls refer to the pictures posted by Violent on page 1. If I'm not mistaken are those not INEC materials dumped in a heap in full view of the public. Are they not supposed to be items of high security value. If someone drives in and helps himself with a truck load what will Jega say. Accountability and probity is non existent here and Jega does not deserve a cent more, credible elections or not. We should not accept a gun to our heads because we think INEC alone can guarantee credible elections. This waste has got to stop. If he feels he is serving this nation, then he and his men have to roll up their sleeves, work hard and make the necessary sacrifices for that to happen. They should not milk the nation dry because of our desperation. Utter rubbish. Free and fair elections ko, fee and fare elections ni. What you are saying is in order, but my point is that we just need to get this election process right in all aspects. Inec have made their blunders and that is what is leading to this excess demand. Not giving them the required money will surely amount to the electoral failure. My suggestion is that the money needed should be given first, after a successful conduct of the elections, then inec and its leadership can be probed |
Politics › Re: Voter Registration. . . Jega Asks For Another N6.6bn by IbroYaya: 9:23pm On Jan 27, 2011 |
I strongly agree that inec needs more funds, but this is as a result of the unprofessional manner the whole exercise was handled at the beginning. Jega didnt do his homework well before commencing this exercise. There should have been a proper forecast of the exact time it will take to complete the registration. This would have been done by conducting a mock registration to checkmate all the hitches in the process before commencing the proper exercise. If these were done earlier, he wouldn't have been asking for extension or more funds.
The fund should be given to him, because we just have to get this process right. Jega should be more professional. This is just registration . What of if the main election comes? will be asking for extension or more funds? Jega learn from this experience and move the nation forward. |

1025: @Ibro Yaya, u sound like a product of a broken home. in my post, cld u pls point to where i challanged obasanjo's laugh? someone said obj has played and left the stage, so i was only making him know that obj is still very very active politically as the chairman of the pdp bot. in reality, i owe u no explainations so u can go and jump into the lagoon. i am not responsible for your shattered brains. Well i dont want to join issues with you. But one thing is certain, you were trying to bring out the fact since Obj is key desicion maker of PDP and the government as whole, so he should always look very serious,(Not laugh) just as you assume other respected world leaders do. Whether Obj is completing his third term , he prayed that God should never take laughter away from his mouth. God is answering his prayer thats why you see him laughing always. maimalari: @ibro yaya, what's wrong with your brain, abi your eyes. I can't see where I termed al mustapha a saint. What kind of religion do u practise? U must be a terrorist to assume that someone I had suggested to commit mass murder at eagle square is a saint. Na wao. Shut up if u can't read and understand. The point is this, you portrayed the the atrocities Al mustapha committed as good tool to be used to stop people like Obj fom laughing. By saying that, you make al mustapha look like a saint before obj, just because baba dey laugh. Think before you post. I still dey laugh ooo |

A man that took over OTA FARM built by the federal government to actualize its program "OPERATION FEED THE NATION", why is he laughing? These crooks are lucky that the likes of hamza almustapha is still in jail, cos he would have caged and summarily executed all of those pdp theives/idiots at eagle square. PDP(poverty development party). Cluesless and idealess Poster.Talking of Al mustapha as a saint just because Obj laughed. I dey laugh oo. 1025: @NewsMonste, if you are in usa as u claim, where is bush and clinton? they played their parts and left the stage but how can u say that a man who is the chief decission maker of the rulling political party of a country has left the stage? do u have the smallest knowledge of politics? no vital decission will be made in nigeria without the consent of obasanjo. pdp is under someone and his name is obasanjo. he is the chairman board of trustees and by the virture of his office, he is the most influential person in the party. he is very very active politically and his relevance in the party and governance of the country can not be over-emphasied here. before u post next time, make a little research on the structural position of ppl and parties to avoid exposing your ignorance in a public forum like this. if you know the country called south africa and their former president called mandela, u will agree with me that respect is earned based on your actions. mandela is till date seen as a small god unlike the beast in the name of obasanjo who right from his immediate family has made himself so useless that anyone can say anything to him and get away with it. what we have in nigeria is nothing but a glorified third term agenda which he cld not achieve directly. no wonder jonathan has been unable to make a single tangible decission all his days as the commander in chief of the useless personal republic of nigeria. I beg go and rest. What do you mean? Obasanjo should not laugh again? I tire for peoples reasoning o. Even if Obj is Mr President or Party chairman, are you saying he shoudnt laugh? If you dont have reasonable thing to argue please dont make senseless posting. |
