Though Nigeria Football Federation are
yet to complete all the paperwork and
necessary documents required by
Ademola Lookman before he can
become a Super Eagles player, it is
believed that the former Everton
youngster is close to dumping European
powerhouse England.

According to report on Wednesday 21st
of August, the winger is considering
pledging allegiance to the country of his
parents despite growing up in England.
Obviously, Lookman’s reported decision
to join the three-time African champions
is a welcome development as it will
bring more quality to Gernot Rohr’s
team.

However, the question that must be
answered by the player is: Does he stand
any chance of breaking into Rohr’s team
considering the intense competition
among young and in-form Nigerian
wingers scattered across Europe?

Samuel Kalu is physically and
psychologically fit after enduring some
difficult spell before and during AFCON
tournament in Egypt.

The Bordeaux winger is a pacy player
full of tricks and eye for goals.
If we continue to list the former Gent
man’s potentials, we might forget to talk
about Henry Onyekuru who is a bit
better than Kalu in goalscoring aspects.
The newly-signed Monaco winger was
unfortunate not to be playing in English
Premier League this season, no thanks to
work permit issues.

He’s got pace, tricks, dribbling skills,
just like Kalu, but his goalscoring
prowess makes him a better player.
Statistically, the former Belgium-based
winger has scored 51 professional goals
in 107 league matches.

Rave of the moment, Samuel Chukwueze
needs no introduction as he is currently
the most talked-about Super Eagles
winger in Europe.

He scored a breathtaking goal in
Villarreal’s first game of the 2019-20
season against Granada on Sunday and
more goals is expected from him before
the end of the season.

Simon Moses is another winger whose
pace and dribbling skills can be likened
to that of Onyekuru. The former Gent
star recently joined Ligue 1 side Nantes
FC on a season-long loan from Levante
and he is tipped by Gernot Rohr to take
the French League by storm.

Ahmed Musa is still another winger

season but Lookman must ensure that
this doesn’t last for long as it will
endanger his chance with the Eagles.
His quality is never in doubt but the
players ahead of him in the Super
Eagles’ pecking order currently have one

Benfica right back Tyrone Ebuehi made his international bow for Nigeria on the 1st of June 2017 in a friendly encounter against. Togo but couldn't add to his international cap until November
