Any time I see tribal wars on this platform I begin to wonder whether we're really a nation. What's the point of saying we're one and yet we're letting our greedy leaders and past leaders divide us everyday? With this kinda hatred for each other what's the hope for inter-ethnic marriages we once studied in our Social Studies lesson? Will we or our future generation love to marry outside our or their tribe? Now, to my question: what's that tribe u secretly admire and will like to marry from if the opportunity arises? For me I'll love to marry a fair skin or brown skinned Hausa girl. What's urs and why? Mynd44 and Fergie please help me move to fp.

DAILY POST reports that Faila commenced a 10 days cook-a-thon on January 1st 2024, at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale. Faila cooked for 227 hours to break the 119 hours and 57 minutes record set by Irish chef, Alan Fisher who dethroned Nigerian Hilda Baci’s record of 93 hours and 11 minutes. However, updating her followers on Monday, Faila’s coordinator, Kafui Dey, announced that “a statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt”. While appreciating her fans in spite of the setback, Chef Faila noted that she doesn’t take their important role in her path for granted. https://dailypost.ng/2024/03/04/guinness-world-records-disqualifies-ghanaian-chefs-227-hour-cook-a-thon/

Former Manchester United title winner Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Lionel Messi unfollowed Alejandro Garnacho on social media after the starlet declared his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Argentine icon's longstanding rivalry with his nemesis defined an era in European football but there is no love lost between the pair. The pair may now play on separate continents but it appears that their rivalry still remains visceral for the supposed arch enemies. Messi and Ronaldo became synonymous with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively, while competing with each other for silverware for over a decade. The tensions that abounded between the world-famous superstars during that period still linger, with this illustrated by Messi appearing to take issue with Manchester United's emerging star Garnacho. According to ex-Old Trafford hero Ferdinand, the Inter Miami talisman unfollowed his compatriot on Instagram back in April 2022. It was alleged by fans at the time that the Argentina captain took action after the Red Devils youngster posted a picture of Ronaldo as he declared the Portuguese legend to be the greatest player of all time. Despite Garnacho and Messi having since become international teammates, the latter has still not followed the former back. After Garnacho's spectacular overhead kick wondergoal in his team's 3-0 win over Everton in the Premier League, he also mimicked his hero's famous 'Siu' celebration. Despite this potential stoking flames even more in the standoff with his Argentina colleague, Ferdinand praised the youngster for sticking to his guns. Speaking on the Vibe with Five podcast, the former England mainstay said: 'You know what I like about him? He doesn't give a f***. [Alejandro] Garnacho told me that Messi unfollowed him just because he makes no secret of preferring Ronaldo." The retired defender also reserved praise for the United attacker for his skill in executing such an improbable strike versus the Toffees. Expressing his admiration in the aftermath of the Goal of the Season contender, he even claimed that his exploits were better than Wayne Rooney's famous goal versus Manchester United in 2011. He asserted: "Garnacho. One was off a shin pad, the other was off his boot. I'm sorry, Wazza. I was in my house in the front room with my family and we went ballistic. It was nuts. Even my little boy, his tooth had just fell out, he fell and his tooth just got knocked out, he was trying to do overhead kicks in the living room like probably millions of little kids around the world at the time. "That goal is better than Rooney's," he insisted. "He was running away from the goal, a bit further away from the goal, at an angle. It was unbelievable, breathtaking moment." https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1840112/lionel-messi-alejandro-garnacho-cristiano-ronaldo |

So this was how Nigeria became this terrible because of few greedy individuals. My problem with Igbo pple is their penciant for blaming and abusing other tribes whenever the problems of Nigeria is discussed. U say the leaders that have ruled the country ruined the country, my question is what have the Igbo governors and local government chairmen done to develop ur regions if u think ur pple would do better? Count the number of senate presidents ur region have produced and tell me their impacts in the development of this country. My grand dad told us stories of how the Biafran soldiers terrorised my state, raping our women and killing the men before our pple rose up to start opposing them. Their plan was to take over our SS because of the crude oil that was discovered. If u pple like don't drop this victim mentality and start changing urselfs so that other pple can take u serious.

Yeah, it once happened to me. I once lost a scholarship opportunity bcoz of hot temper. I actually wrote exams for the scholarship three times. My local government and some rich men in my LG came up with the idea of supporting some of the bright students of my LG through a scholarship opportunity. All these while I never knew they deliberately hid the part of waning to send 5 of the best students in the exams to a European university and For u to scale through u must pass through three stages of exams. I thought it was a a scholarship to a Nigerian university. Studying oversea was always my dream. So I wrote the three stages of exams and came out second to the best student. It was for science students. So after some days we were told to come back for another exam which I went and I was the best. Instead of them giving out the scholarship to the 5 of us that came out top they told us to serve in some of the sponsors' houses for 5 months before we were eligible. At this point I became so angry that I threw away the results before our LG chairman and other leaders and left the secretariat. Now in conclusion, the 6 best was chosen in my place and he's now a medical doctor in the US and all the others are doing very well abroad. Two are medical doctors in US and the rest are engineers. Two in UK and the last in Australia and I am still a struggling graduate of a Nigerian university. After graduation, I started working for someone for 15k salary. At some point I became fed up and resigned, gathered small amount and started an ok shoe business and the business is really struggling that I'm becoming a shadow of myself. Life hasn't been great at some point I stopped going to church. This is my story and I'm sorry for wasting ur time. Pls if you're a hot tempered person, pray for God's help bcoz u can miss a great opportunity like I did. U can lose ur future wife and hubby bcoz of hot temper. Sorry for my errors. I saw one of the guys in a house he built for his family today and to be serious I'm so ashamed of myself. Do u have ur own experience? Pls share let's learn from u. Pls mods help me push it to fp. |

In one particularly grim video from early May, Prigozhin stood next to a pile of dead Wagner fighters and took aim specifically at Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and chief of the Russian armed forces Gen. Valery Gerasimov. “The blood is still fresh,” he says, pointing to the bodies behind him. “They came here as volunteers and are dying so you can sit like fat cats in your luxury offices.” After complaining for well over a month of receiving insufficient support from the Kremlin in the grueling fight for the eastern city of Bakhmut, he announced in May that his troops would withdraw. Now, Prigozhin has launched an all-out rebellion against the Kremlin – after his increasingly outrageous outbursts sparked speculation that he could be going too far. The Wagner mutiny began when Prigozhin unleashed a new tirade against the Russian military on Friday and then marched his troops into the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. Staring down a sudden and staggering escalation of internal tensions that have simmered for months, Putin called Wagner’s actions “treason.” “It is a stab in the back of our country and our people,” the president said in an address to the nation on Saturday. Prigozhin responded on Telegram saying that Putin was “deeply mistaken.” “We are patriots of our Motherland, we fought and are fighting,” the Wagner chief said in audio messages. Who is Yevgeny Prigozhin? CNN — Yevgeny Prigozhin is the founder and bombastic leader of Russia’s private military group Wagner. His organization is now in the midst of an apparent insurrection, after claiming control of military facilities in two cities and threatening to march on Moscow. Prigozhin was once a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but the Kremlin leader has now vowed punishment on those involved in “an armed rebellion.” Typically a figure who has preferred to operate in the shadows, Prigozhin and his fighters were thrust into the spotlight following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last year, with Wagner mercenaries playing a key role in multiple battles. Putin and Prigozhin share relatively humble beginnings, and the Wagner chief grew up in the tougher neighborhoods of St. Petersburg, also the president’s hometown. The men have known each other since the 1990s. Prigozhin became a wealthy oligarch by winning lucrative catering contracts with the Kremlin, earning him the moniker “Putin’s chef.” His apparent transformation into a brutal warlord came in the aftermath of the 2014 Russian-backed separatist movement in the Donbas in eastern Ukraine. Prigozhin founded Wagner as shadowy mercenary outfit that fought both in Ukraine and, increasingly, for Russian-backed causes around the world. CNN has tracked Wagner mercenaries in the Central African Republic, Sudan, Libya, Mozambique, Ukraine and Syria. Over the years they have developed a gruesome reputation and have been linked to multiple human rights abuses. After Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine the group was thrust to center stage. Wagner forces were heavily involved in taking the Ukrainian towns of Soledar and Bakhmut. As the regular Russian army campaign was bogged down by setbacks and disorganization, Wagner fighters appeared to be the only ones capable of delivering tangible progress for the Russian side. Dilemma for Putin Known for its disregard for the lives of its own soldiers, Wagner’s brutal and often lawless tactics are believed to have resulted in high numbers of casualties, as new recruits are sent into battle with little formal training – a process described by retired United States Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling as “like feeding meat to a meat grinder.” Prigozhin has used social media to lobby for what he wants and often cast himself as competent and ruthless in contrast to the Kremlin’s military establishment. In recent months, Prigozhin has created a dilemma for Putin by becoming an outspoken critic of Russia’s military leaders.
