Qatar Islamic Bank chairman Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani has won the race to buy Manchester United ahead of INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Al-Watan report. The Glazers started exploring strategic alternatives for the club in November last year, and it was anticipated that there could be a takeover in a few months. However, the process has been prolonged until the end of the season. Sheikh Jassim recently made a fifth and final offer on the table to beat Ratcliffe in the takeover race. It now appears the proposal has been successful. Al-Watan, an organisation owned by Sheikh Jassim’s father, have claimed that an announcement of the deal is due ‘soon’. This could be a major reason behind the after hours trading of United’s shares in the New York Stock Exchange. United’s share price has gone up by 17 per cent since the news broke up. United fans will be delighted with fresh update Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe have been battling for the takeover of United for a number of months. The latter was recently leading the race before Sheikh Jassim’s last-gasp bid. The Glazers were reportedly open to staying at the club with a minority stake under Ratcliffe, but their stance may have changed with Sheikh Jassim’s latest proposal. United fans will be delighted with the latest update from Al-Watan. Sheikh Jassim’s complete takeover should provide manager Erik ten Hag with significant financial backing. The Glazers have never spent money out of their pockets at United, and there could be a huge difference in the handling of the club’s affairs with fresh investment from Qatar. The Financial Fair Play could be a potential hurdle for United going forward, but paying up a fine won’t be a concern for Sheikh Jassim. While we don’t have any official confirmation, the shares activity suggest that this could be a credible story. Hopefully, the takeover saga will come to a conclusion this week. The same pple that defended Buhari no matter how bad and wicked the policy was have started with the same tactics. Back then they blamed the previous PDP administration but now they're blaming the Buhari's administration. What an irony. |
An average Nigerian will wish for the failure of a particular administration they never supported just to prove a point. They want that so that pple will see that the candidate they supported was actually the best. It's a very bad way to reason because no matter how wealthy u are as an individual the result of a bad or failed administration will always be felt by if not u but by any of ur family member. #let'sChangetheNarratives. |
“Manchester United aren’t really second, they’re in a false position.” So said so-called pundit Jason McAteer just two years ago as Manchester United sat behind only neighbours City in the table. To this day I’m not sure what he was trying to imply other than to spin some kind of silly anti-United narrative. Fast forward to now and we’re here again, with a slightly adjusted narrative. After eight straight wins either of side of the World Cup break, United sit joint third in the table, are into the semi-finals of the League Cup and the fourth- round of the FA Cup. Yet, ask any TV or radio pundit about it and they’ll tell you that it doesn’t mean anything because United haven’t played anybody yet. How utterly insulting. It could be argued that it’s a reasonable comment given that those eight wins have come against Aston Villa, Fulham, Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Bournemouth, Everton and Charlton. These are teams Manchester United should be beating, we’re told and comfortably too. Yet if we rewind even 12 months, these were the sort of teams United weren’t beating at all, let alone comfortably. Watford, Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester, all teams in the lower half of the Premier League table who came away with a result at Old Trafford whilst the Reds were also knocked out of the FA Cup at home to a side from a lower division. United fans, unlike these so-called pundits it seems, are all too familiar with failing to beat sides ‘you’d expect Manchester United to beat comfortably’ we even lost 2-0 at home to Burnley not that many seasons ago. It also conveniently ignores that Erik ten Hag’s first 20 wins have included Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham, or are we counting them as nobody now, too? It also ignores that Fulham ,who United beat just before the break, currently sit above both Liverpool and Chelsea in the table. At best it’s lazy punditry, at worst it’s driving an agenda. We can take this one step further. As a deal to bring Wout Weghorst in on a short-term loan nears completion , we’re told it reeks of desperation and that United have allowed the better option, Joao Felix to walk to Chelsea. It’s yet more lazy journalism. Firstly, it ignores the fact that United need a centre forward, something Felix, isn’t and never has been. Paying close to €20m to take a player who doesn’t suit our needs would actually be the more desperate move. Secondly, this isn’t Odion Ighalo. United haven’t waited until the deadline and then signed whoever was available. Rather they’ve identified the type of player the manager wants and settled on a player who fits, there would have been players far easier to obtain than Weghorst. It’s hard not to agree that United need a striker and that a loan in January is a last resort but with that being said Weghorst is a short term fix to a problem that can be solved more long term in the summer, it shouldn’t be viewed in any other way. https://strettynews.com/2023/01/13/tackling-the-anti-manchester-united-narrative/

Why does ur life revolve around these two sisters 4 Christ's sake? In all these years weren't u able or opportune to meet other girls? |
I am a married woman. I married my husband, a secondary school teacher in 2014. I brought my brother and sister to stay with us. My husband sponsored them in secondary school. Now they want to go to college. My young sister wants to do a degree in Pharmacy & my young brother wants to do Law. My young sister was inspired by our elder sister who is a pharmacist. And my young brother was inspired by our elder brother who is a lawyer. The issue is that my husband is telling my siblings to do a Diploma in primary teaching. He is saying that it's what he can afford. I told him that my siblings can't do a cheap and useless course like Diploma in primary teaching. My siblings are also refusing. Even my family can't accept such mockery. I don't know maybe he is jealous. We've been quarrelling over this issue. I am puzzled right now. I am on the crossroads. He is refusing as if he will be paying every month but it is per semister. Maybe he is doing this simply because I am not working and my siblings may be better than him. What should I do? Pls hide my ID. Copied from African Columnist

A popular Islamic preacher, based in Sokoto State, Sheik Bello Yabo, has prayed that terrorists who threatened to kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State and the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, should be successful in their mission, SaharaReporters wrote. SAharaReporters said that the cleric, Yabo, who said the prayer while reacting to Shehu’s comment on the terrorists’ threat, however, appealed to the kidnappers to release the innocent victims in their custody. He insisted the terrorists are free to kidnap Nigerian top leaders. SaharaReporters earlier reported how terrorists who abducted passengers of a Kaduna-bound train on March 28, 2022, in a viral video, threatened to kidnap President Buhari, el-Rufai and some lawmakers if they did not comply with their demands. But Shehu while reacting to the threat had said that the “terrorist activity using propaganda and the use of violence to force governments to accept or submit to political demands is not new all over world.” In response to Shehu’s statement, the Islamic cleric berated him (Shehu) for simply describing the threat as propaganda. The cleric accused Shehu of being insensitive to the unfortunate plight of kidnapped victims. According to a report by Daily Nigerian, Yabo prayed for Shehu to fall into the hands of the kidnappers, “I pray they kidnap you, Garba Shehu, and demonstrate as propaganda.” “We are praying for you kidnappers. May God grant you success in carrying out your threats to kidnap those people. But please release the innocent people in captivity. “If these were the kind of people you have been abducting all this while, we wouldn’t have bothered ourselves. We would instead pray and bless you because they have become a disaster [to us]. “These are people who promised heaven and earth, and now they have the opportunity but became incompetent. Take them to the bush and flog them, instead of humiliating innocent citizens who are striving to make ends meet. “And please make good your threats, and we will support you with prayers.” |

All days were meant to be a blessing to mankind but some happenings and circumstances of life can or has made us rue one of those days in our lives. Some have lost loved ones, others have lost a crucial part of their bodies. Some have lost a high paying job, others have lost huge investments, etc. All these happenings have a way of making us feel sorrowful thereby ruing the day it happened whenever it crosses our memories. It can even go as far as reshaping our lives negatively. I have a friend who lost his youngest brother that just got admitted to study Law in one of the federal universities in Nigeria. According to him the boy was the Joseph of the family. He was so brilliant that as an art student he could help him solve his yr one maths assignment. He was the biggest investment of his parents and up till this moment they have not been able to recover from the shock of his death. Every 4th of April is always set aside by the family to remember his death. Pls kindly share to us about "the saddest day of ur life" and how u were able to move on.

But it’s hard Sha. You want to be President Your wife is a Senator. Your Daughter is Iyaloja Your Son is Advertising Guru for State Accounts. Your Newspaper is the official organ for several South Western States. Your TV station is the official paid propaganda channel of several southern states. "You collect Tax Revenue as a Consultant for Lagos State. You own almost all the remaining valuable real estate in Lagos. You own a private Hospital inside the State Teaching Hospital in Ikeja. "You own burial grounds and mortuaries with your wife in Lagos. Your wife is the official supplier of Diesel to all Lagos state formations and generators powering all street lights in Lagos. You control directly all the machinery of Government in at least 6 states. "Unless there is something else that is wrong with you and your head, what are you looking for in the Presidency? If you have managed the resources and states you control very well, we would be the ones calling for you to be President.

Reno Omokri has responded to a recent calim made against the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan by Chidiogo Akunyili-Parr, daughter of late former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Prof. Dora Akunyili. Akunyili-Parr, in her book, ‘I am because we are’, a biography on her mother, alleged, among other things, that her late mother described then President Jonathan’s cabinet as a “cabinet of mismatched candidates and portfolios”. She further said that the Jonathan cabinet “was one of the first signs of the woes that would cripple Goodluck Jonathan’s government.” And Mr. Omokri, a former aide to Jonathan, who still speaks for the ex-President, said he was rather appalled to read comments attributed Akunyili-Parr. Omokri, who was an offshoot of that cabinet, said he is personally defamed by those statements made by the former Minister of Communivation’s daughter and would like to set the records straight by examining the particular statements in the light of indisputable facts. In a statements he made available to DAILY POST on Thursday, Omokri began, “Former President Jonathan’s minister of Finance was Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who got her PhD in regional economics and development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “On Thursday July 19, 2018, Jack Dorsey, the then CEO of Twitter appointed Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to the board of Twitter. She also sat on the boards of Lazard, Gavi and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank after her tenure as Minister of Finance, and Coordinating Minister for the Economy. “On March 1, 2021, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was appointed as the 7th Director General of the World Trade Organisation, and has been described by Forbes Magazine as the most influential Nigerian alive. “Former President Jonathan’s minister of agriculture was Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, whose has a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, and was a fellow of the Rockefeller Foundation. “Until his appointment as Minister in 2010, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina was Vice President of Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa. “After President Jonathan’s tenure, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina was elected as the 8th President of the African Development Bank. “And on June 27, 2017, Dr. Akinkumi won the prestigious World Food Prize for his work to boost yields and farm incomes during his tenure as Nigeria’s minister of agriculture. “As minister of health, we had Onyebuchi Chukwu, a professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. Professor Chukwu is globally acclaimed for his prowess in combating Ebola in Nigeria by quickly establishing unprecedented contact-tracing mechanisms and other protocols that halted the disease in its track within three months, and made Nigeria the first country to overcome the scourge. “The minister of state for health under former President Jonathan was Muhammad Ali Pate, who was in May of 2019 appointed by the World Bank Group as the Global Director of Health, Nutrition and Population, and Director, Global Financing Facility. “Muhammad Ali Pate was also appointed as Professor of Public Health Leadership in the Department of Global Health and Population of Harvard University. “That administration also had Olusegun Aganga as minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, who before his appointment into the cabinet has been a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, probably the biggest investment bank on planet Earth. “As planning minister, Dr. Jonathan has Shamsudeen Usman, who holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, and was the pioneer Director General of The Technical Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, now the Bureau of Public Enterprises. “Former President Jonathan’s minister of Information and Communication Technology was Dr. Omobola Johnson, who is currently Chairperson of the Global Alliance for Affordable Internet. “The education ministry under President Jonathan had a competent and well-experienced ivory tower intellectual as the head. Before her appointment as a minister of education, Mrs Ruquyyatu Rufa’i functioned effectively as a professor of curriculum studies at the Bayero University, Kano. “With such a cabinet of world-class, distinguished, and sterling individuals, it is hard to reconcile President Jonathan’s ministerial picks as ‘the cabinet of mismatched candidates, with square pegs put in round roles.’ “It is, however, a fact that after her defeat by Chris Ngige, in the April 2011 election for the Anambra Central Senatorial seat, Dr. Dora Akunyili put herself forward to former President Jonathan for consideration as a minister in his administration, and that the then President, in his wisdom, elected not to appoint her into his government. “Dora Akunyili is late, and though I know the reason why she was not appointed into then President Jonathan’s cabinet, in honour of her memory, I will refrain from revealing that reason. “However, being that at the time she put herself forward to be considered for appointment in the Jonathan cabinet, she already knew those being considered, the question is raised as to why she would want to join a cabinet of persons she felt were sub par? “Suffice to say that if indeed Dora Akunyili had made such a judgment to her daughter, it may have been made in the heat of the moment, when she was sensitive and feeling scorned at her failure to make the Jonathan cabinet. “As such, I do not wish to join issues with her or her daughter, except to say that the obvious facts do not support their claims.”

A Ghanaian TikToker, Efe Plange has advised women to stay away from men who are over 30 years old and still single, saying that they are red flags. She said women should question the reason such men are still single at their age, especially considering that their mates are already married. According to Efe, men who are 30 and older, and still single are for the streets, which is why no woman is considering them as husband material. She said that they have been overused by so many women and as such are huge red flags. She then concluded by saying ‘God forbid’.
