Lie Mohammed at his propaganda best, now instead of him and his paymasters to analyze and isolate the issues with a view concerning finding solutions. The old goat is about bleating in the wrong bush and pointing fingers, if not he would realise that most of the workers owed salaries are chiefly from APC states thus in his biased reasoning GEJ is at fault for owing Osun state workers 7months salary...he would also realise that shylock cabals are the devils behind the artificial scarcity, but would you blame Lie Mohammed for throwing blames about when his party in the opposition decieved Nigerians into occupying Lagos during the 2012 oil subsidy protest thus tying Goodluck's hands in these matters? If GEJ had gotten his way,we don't see the existence of any petrol cabals how much more thieves that are always seeking to maximise their petrol profits via exploiting power vaccuum such as we have now.In retrospect, gullible Nigerians are to be blamed. you call an artificial protest by marketer slavery, then what do we call the sales of kerosine at N150 and unregulated diesel at double intl market rate.

Actually, the oil cabals benefit more from fuel subsidy removal. It means they can fix their prices....and earn higher profits.

Many Nigerians opposed fuel subsidy removal because the average Nigerian is living under a dollar a day...and frankly telling someone about how removal of fuel subsidy will benefit him or her in the long term...while he/she is saddled with high transport and food prices as a result of high fuel price is not going to be easy.
They could if the sector is cocooned in a monopoly bubble of some sort but remember that it was the same subsidy that made it quite impossible for the oil sector to be competitive as foreign investors or indigenous investors found it impossible to vie against subsidized marketers for a large share of the Nigerian market but when you deregulate the market, it becomes a free for all, maybe the fuel won't go as cheap as #87 but it will be very much available to power businnesses and economic activities....the beauty is that investors would seek ways to cut costs, beat fellow competitors and maximise profit that includes building refineries, tank farms, depots, laying down more pipeline network, filling stations in even remote areas to reach customers this here could spark the resurrection of Nigeria's petrochemical industry thus providing more jobs and boosting the economy exponentially....It is a win/win situation.

If the subsidy had been removed today we would have been buying at around N147/Litre. Diesel subsidy was removed and it still sells for same price, that proves Nigerians were right to oppose the subsidy removal.
But wouldn't the product still be readily available as at now instead of these sufferings?..You opposed and protested your way into slavery.

That was how Lagos started. They didn't just jump to 250-300N a litre. It increased in an arithmetic progression grin
We are getting there too.
If it continues, we would soon start sleeping in a queue or buying from blackmarket

Na small-small nna.
I still maintain it's scarce.
This is the climax of the scarcity thus prices at this point reflect the current equilibrium of demand, supply and competition.....in simple english,it cannot get anyworse than it is except if somebody starts "smuggling" petrol from the south east to areas of extreme fuel scarcity in South west.. The point is availability and if you slept overnight in a queue to buy it or blackmarket...180 is too small compared to the rate of 250 and 300 hundred naira per litre in Lagos and Southwest.

ibisko04:
Common sense is not when you know the right thing to do and do otherwise.
All your theory is that the market should be allowed to function according to the dictates of demands and supplies.
Yes, we will allow the system to run according to demand and supply but not when you give away everything.
Governance is more than giving away everything to the market forces.
Power distribution is a good example of how government can make wrong decision about privatization of a welfare section of economy without proper supervision.
I am not saying government should give us fuel as a welfare package, and I don't think it has ever been given free in the history of Nigeria.
We want a local production of our crude oil to finished products in our local refinery here in Nigeria. Who owns the refinery is not our business. Let the refinery be located in Nigeria and employed Nigerians.
You didnt make any point in this writeup,it was neither here nor there. What did GEJ give away if not his discretion with doing away with the cabals currently holding us to ransome as far back as 2012? Ohho..You fail to remember the azonto with which you danced on you way to occupy Lagos, didnt you? Commonsense is when oil cabals dupe you to protest against policies that will remove their shackles from your necks. isn't it? What we understand is GEJ tried unbundling the oil sector for industrial competition but the cabals swindled your likes into kicking against it.....Deal with it.

ibisko04:
All what you have said here is really rubbish.
Instead of Jonathan government to fixed the local refinery, he was busy pandering to please the cabals.
The way to go is to make our local refinery functions, so as to produce all the products locally, not to import products when you have the raw materials and the technical know how to process it to finish products with additional valuables.
Do you have brain at all? Do you know what economic idealogy stimulates mechanization, industry and production? Or do you think the welfare socialist system as you have with NEPA,Nitel,Petrol subsidy etc are sustainable in the long run? If Nitel is unbundled, sold and its sector deregulated for competition without any protest why the sudden clamour against unbundling and deregulating the oil sector? Or do you think government can provide refineries to cater for all our petrol needs without private commercial support? And how do you think you can make that sector attractive for investors? Is it not curbing subsidy and deregulating that sector for commercial competition just as you have with MTN and Etisalat...Go and buy common sense, pls.

Well, first off Buhari never built any refinery maybe he commissioned one or two but he never was part of any team that conceptualize, initiate and build any refinery at any time whatsoever. Now we have gotten that small humdrum out the way tis better for us to come to an agreement as to the fears of these marketers currently brewing this artificial scarcity,if Buhari will shut down subsidy-ironically, the same motion GEJ sought about to initiate but was opposed by the opposition, the cabals and ordinary naive Nigerians decieved in #Occupy Lagos- will these same marketers get their investments back especially now the dollar is at an all time high? If not, tis businness savvy to start a scarcity and sell your product at quadruple the normal rate so as to get back your capital and profit before the new government settles down. We don't see how the blame is Goodluck's instead we have gullible Nigerians to blame who protested against their freedom and occupied Lagos when Goodluck sought to liberate Nigerians from the shackles of the cabal...Freedom,we had the chance to be free or dum(b) but Nigerians were bambozzled by the opposition and cabal into choosing dum(b).
