Fellow pythonista I understand your POV, 9ja devs are coding for a living, if all programmers in the world where Nigerian, then there probably won't be anything like Free and Open Source Software, I code for the passion and not really to survive, its cool when I get paid to do what I love though but its even cooler when your making your own unique ideas whether or not you get paid for it, Elon musk said a lot of people would rather settle for a boring job for the pay (paraphrased) instead of working on something exciting, its hard to imagine 9ja devs doing something cool at places like Tesla, SpaceX or neuralink when na only web development we dey practice.

Mark Zuckerberg didn't create Facebook just because someone was going to pay him for it, he made his own idea a reality and ended up earning billions because he invested in his own idea.

[color=#1980BC] Most 9ja developers like the greater 9ja society like shortcuts and are copycats, most are only into the program for a steady job, hell even the most deluded think its a key to great wealth something akin to a get rich quick scheme, which is why there is a greater emphasis on how much you earn instead of how much impact your codes or technologies have made in solving humanity's problem (which ironically is where the big bucks lie)...Most 9ja developers don't know that they more they place their priorities incorrectly, they face the risks of becoming obsolete because they get so rigid and attached to tech that got them their 'big Buck job' and get cast off when that tech has been rendered obsolete by a new tech....[/color]

[color=#1980BC] Because most developers are after their meal tickets, why would I code a complex ML project or portfolio when there isn't any need for that kind of skill in our local tech space? when the next big thing is flutter, react native, node js and all other shiny, glitzy web app building BS...most cases you build these non web-app projects for your own personal use...That's why I love Python. You can use its extensive libraries to build apps that are not only utilitarian but practical... [/color]

A normal 4gig machine should suit you very well for what you want to do... Besides, tis not about the size of the man in the fight but tis about the size of the fight in the man...Go for it but don't spend to much for an overkill.[/color]

Am putting this out here because I've exhausted almost every other means possible. I've gone to family, friends and aquintances, but non has been able to assist me.

My business started having some issues about a year ago after the pandemic and I had to result to borrowing in order to keep the business afloat with the hopes that things will improve, but rather than improving, it got even worse.

Prices of goods went up, running cost went up and profits dwindled. Despite all these, i tried as much as possible to stay still stay afloat, and I did till the recent power outages in the country in which I had to result to buying black market everyday in order to sustain the business and this made me to run out of cash at a very fast rate which resulted in me defaulting on my loans.

Now, everything is just upside-down with creditors calling & messaging me everyday with different form of threats. I have tried paying off some, but at this point, I am out of options. I don't know where else to turn to.

I opted for business in order to avoid this very situation that I am in now, but the system has not been favouranle at all. So pls Brothers, whatever assistance you guys can offer will really go a long way in helping me out of this situation.

Well My own father and grand dad did cook on some days for the family and it ended up bringing the family together.

Also, as for the bolded, I'm sorry but I can't take it from you because your reality is different from mine.
If cooking will destabilize your home, then avoid it. However, it brings joy in my own home.
If cooking for your family will make your woman call you a nice guy, then avoid it.
My cooking for my family reminds my family that I'm still human.
Getting a compliment from your woman after cooking, like awwn, you're so caring, you're a nice guy, or a good husband, is way different from compliments like 'i can't believe Odogwu entered kitchen today and cooked rice!', or 'today that chairman decided to cook is a miracle'

I cook for my family on special occasions like father's day or on my birthdays.
I wish I could invite some Nairalanders to experience it someday.

I am bringing my own view based on my experiences, and that of others I happen to be close to their families.

people are just too scared of trying out things that could bring happiness in their homes if done right because of the fear of failure.
