There is this big cattle market called Ugwuoba Gariki market where Northerners do their trading. The leadership of that market is 100 percent in the hands of the Northerners. About five yrs ago a leadership struggle ensured between the Northern traders there. One of the groups mobilised his men and they burnt down that market to ashes. If this had happened in the West, the Westerners would have rejoiced and seen it as good opportunity to take the land back and resell it the second time at more exorbitant rate to the Northerners. But this did not happen. Nobody ever contemplated it. Peace was brokered among the warring groups and the market was rebuilt.

Now see the truth. While I am not yet part of the group calling for Biafra, one Nigeria is a suffocating to the Igbos.

Thanks for your question bro. But in truth you know it well that in Nigeria it is the Igbo, The Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba. In this matrix all Southerners regard all Northerners as Hausas, all Westerners are regarded as Yoruba and the rest of the Southerners from Edo to Calabar are regarded as the Igbo by the Yoruba and the Hausa. I discovered this since I started mingling with the Yoruba. So basically, you are asking whether your Hausa-Fulani do not live in the West. They do. Do the Igbo constitute more problem than them in the West. They do not. Rather what you regard as non-peaceful behaviour from their Igbo is their human characteristic of refusing intimidation from your people.

On your second point about Yorubas being more accommodating it is absolute bunkum. You overate yourself. You must be informed that the Northern Nigeria is the most accommodating of the Igbos save for their religious differences. The North and the East are far more viable than the West in terms of making money. The only drawback to the North is religious extremism. The same religious extremis and then tribal extremism is gradually creeping into the West. And gradually Igbos and other Nigerians are becoming reluctant to invest in the West. In the next 30 years this will explode. The truth is that most rich Igbos made their money in the North and the East; Onitsha, Kano, Aba were where Igbo wealth was created. Wealth created in these places were then taken to Lagos, the so-called West. If the West is so viable mention one Igbo or Yoruba in Oshogbo, Ibadan, Ado Ekiti, Akure who is rich enough to challenge the richest trader in Aba or Onitsha or even Kano. Forget Lagos. The story of Abuja has shown us why Lagos is what it is. Tomorrow the Gwari will come out and praise themselves for achievements in Abuja. Let's check list of richest Igbo men and see where they made their money. Here I go:

Of course, when Ghanians decided in the 60s to expel Nigerians from their country it was the Yoruba they loved so much they expelled. What an irony.
