pato station: My Alma Mater does not award first class degrees anyhow. In my year of graduation, there were less than 10 first class graduates. It is a legacy I am very proud of though sometimes we are at a disadvantage in the job market and national ranking. In my office I find so many 2.1 and 2.2 graduates who run to me to help them draft one letter or the other because they simply cannot write a common memo. But I have a 2.2! It baffles me how schools are dishing out academic and honorary degrees. It does not help Nigeria. All things said, I must acknowledge my respect for OAU. I am a Great Lion.

bollybees: @op unilag is the best and people are not blind. You see, being in Lagos the centre of excellence, unilag is able to attract the best and smartest students and faculty members in Nigeria.

In case u've not being following recent rankings, this year 4icu ranked us as the first in Nigeria: and for the first time we entered top 20 in Africa. Last month and last week, africa.com ranked us as 9th in Africa above other Nigerian Universities. If 2 out of 3 rankings place us as 1st then judge for yourself. That's why akokites refer to their sch as the pride of the nation.

A lot of people with what Chimamanda calls single story believe unilag is a sch for prostitute, yahoo boys. However, I've a bad news for such people, because if you've been following local tech news you must have heard about a 3-student team from unilag that won $20k as the winner in sub-saharan category of google drive app contest. In another google student competition, google online marketing challenge, a team of engineering students are in semi-finals. Early this year, two of our students won the national university debate a team of education and law student. About two weeks ago Ms Tobi Phillips won Miss world university. I want you to know I'm talking about recent happenings and not old glory.

A guy mentioned admission statistics, according to my state gov, mimiko, "facts are sacred". If you're close to an Akokites u must have heard them refer to their sch as "university of 1st choice". The fact is according this yr jamb statistics, Unilag still leads other universities in terms of number of applicants followed by unizik which has been the case over the years.

Side attractions: unilag is the only Nigerian university with an aquatic environ. You need to see our lagoon front. Unilag library has the highest collections of books, journals in Nigeria but Unn has the biggest library in terms of size; what is the essence of size without content. Our senate building is the tallest in Africa. Do u know we also have a robotics lab? I'm willing to write more for the love of my sch. Greatest Akokites!

let me share our new glory with in UNN recently prof. C.N Okeke wife of okeke physics receive and award for the 2012 world best 5 female scientist by l'real unesco annual. A female prof. from brazil,oxford,egypt,nigeria(UNN),china won this award worth #30 million,another is that our students usually make head waves in d labour market,once u finish 4rm university Of Nigeria Nsukka u don hama!!no wonder they say"a unn graduate is naturally ahead of u"

When is dis ur oau starting new session for ogun sake,imagine u getting admission for a 4years course in ife but b4 u know's it;u'll end up spending almost 6-7 years there.........haaaahhaahahah!!! Oau indeed....lols.

ajasa4link: am sure d result u posted is a semester gp and not cgpa because in a school like oau i find it hard to believe students making 5.0 as cgpa, even in lasu a state school,the highest semester gp i've made till date is 4.74

derus: OAU 3rd class is far better dan other universities 1st class. You better be serious with your studies not to come out with a third class result with this unstable economic recession

i'v seen a guy frm ur oau who graduated with 2.1 he can't find a job let alone 3rd clas,,,,u better think and work hard because no naija uni. Is among best 3000 globally.
