Politics / Tukur Buratai Is A Man Of Decency, Integrity – Wole Arisekola Reacts To Sahara R by IDanfulani(m): 1:22pm On Jun 24, 2022
Tukur Buratai Is A Man Of Decency, Integrity – Wole Arisekola Reacts To Sahara Reporters’ Bile, False Allegations

Mogaji Bowale Oluwole Arisekola, a close ally to the former Chief of Army Staff, General (rtd) Tukur Buratai, has on Thursday reacted to a publication credited to Sahara Reporters wherein the sum of N1.85 billion was said to have been allegedly discovered in Abuja residence of the ex-COS by the operatives of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The Ibadan-born businessman, public affairs analyst and pub¬lisher of Ireland-based journal, The Street Journal magazine maintained that the Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin is a man of integrity and profound decency whom he has known for donkey years with meritorious and indelible records of excellence in his service to his fatherland.
Reacting, Arisekola in a statement sent to the media, faulted the allegations, describing it as tissue of lies from the pit of hell, whilst maintaining that such claims against the Army General turned diplomat were false.
He said “I found it so ridiculous and appalling, reading the bile and vitriolic verbiage on Sahara Reporters against a great, honorable, decent and honest man, Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, General (rtd) Tukur Buratai, whose only offence is that he chose to serve his fatherland without blemish in spite of the life threatening risks associated with his service to the nation. These pugnacious, malicious and malevolent diatribe is unnecessary, petty, baseless and unfortunate at a time like this.
Arisekola continued, “It is utterly preposterous to read from the news portal that ICPC officials stormed a house in Wuse area of Abuja, beside National Open University and arrested a man, Kabiru Salisu after they saw N850 million cash in the house. The publication went further to say officials of the ICPC also took Kabiru to an office where another N1billion in cash was discovered.
“Sahara Reporter also claimed that bulletproof cars, BMW, G-Wagon worth N450m were also recovered. This is clearly a disjointed thoughts which are not presented in a smooth or logical way and therefore difficult to understand. Without contradiction, only lies and fictions are dressed in a manner like this, it is really shameful.
“I hope Sahara Reporters understands the implications of this hatchet work from the legal point of view and as well from the prism of the professional ethics of journalism. What does anyone stands to benefit by dragging the good name someone has built over the years through the mud? This is totally reprehensible”
While interrogating the publication further Mogaji stated, “In this time and season how can any media organization come up with such damaging, insidious, sensational and very disparaging assertions without engaging in any due diligence before going to press? No pictures, no videos, the addresses of the houses not mentioned and as well not traceable; the plate numbers of the vehicles in reference were also not revealed. This is not excellent journalism to say the least.
“Those that believe that the former Chief of Army Staff, General (rtd) Tukur Buratai, could keep such a huge amount in his private residence; money earmarked for the purchase of arms and ammunition by the Muhammadu Buhari-led government obviously do not know him. He is a man of profound decency and integrity. This is not the first time Sahara Reporters is doing this and I believe it is a joke taken too far which should attract severe consequences within the ambit of the extant laws.
“I am sorry for those that are peddling these specious lies and slanderous falsehood, they are agents of satan from the pit of hell. Their attempt to discredit and destroy Buratai has failed woefully. I advise them to try something else, definitely this one cannot hold water, it is dead on arrival even as I have aboslute faith and confidence in my dear friend and brother that he will never do such thing and no smear campaign against him will stand by God’s grace,” Arisekola said.

Nigeria's Insecurity Can Only Be Solved Through Dialogue, Local Manufacturing Of Military Equipment - Buratai

Insecurity is a hydra-headed monster, which can only be solved by adopting both kinetic and non kinetic measures like dialogue and local manufacturing of military equipment.

Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd) expressed this, while delivering a lecture titled, "Politics and Insecurity In Nigeria: Way Forward" at a one-day Symposium on National Security at the Arewa House, Kaduna on Saturday June 11, 2022.

According to him, such non kinetic approaches should include negotiation, dialogue are integrated approaches that can end insecurity through involving traditional and religious leaders, media, security and intelligence agencies.

"The public needs to be constantly sensitized on roles they must play to end insecurity as key stakeholders," he said.

He further suggested revitilazation of Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), better welfare and equipment for police, as well as establishment of a national border force like it is done in other parts of the world.

His Excellency, Buratai, also advised that the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) should collaborate and employ all means to block off supplies to terrorists.

"Ungoverned spaces should be covered by states and LGAs to prevent insurgents and bandits from moving around freely.

"Fighters are always in the bush even if military eliminates their leaders and others, they will continue to recruit. Issue of dialogue is very important. If you eliminate those in the bush, what of their political leaders and their recruiting agents?" He asked rhetorically.

Speaking further on the importance of dialogue, he said he strongly aligns with the approach being promoted by revered Islamic cleric, Sheikh Gumi.

"This is where I commend Sheikh Gumi for his initiative. One third of the fight is military, others should be non kinetic, through dialogue. We must get this solution and this is the right time to get it done," he stressed.

Crime / Mnjtf Operation Lake Sanity Makes In Road Into Terrorists' Enclaves In The Lake by IDanfulani(m): 4:06pm On Apr 17, 2022
MNJTF OPERATION LAKE SANITY MAKES IN ROAD INTO TERRORISTS' ENCLAVES IN THE LAKE CHAD REGION

In a clear demonstration of it's determined efforts to speedily eliminate the Boko Haram Terrorists /Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents hibernating along the fringes of the Lake Chad, the forces of the Multinational Joint task Force (MNJTF) have in the past weeks been conducting a well coordinated land and air offensives.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Military Public Information Headquarters Multi National Joint Task Force N'Djamena Chad Colonel Mohammed Dole and made available to the press on 17th April 2022

The Operation codenamed OPERATION LAKE SANITY is a joint and combined operations involving the MNJTF troops from Nigeria, Niger and Cameroon and troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK- Nigeria) as well as the Air Task Forces of the MNJTF and OPHK, other security agencies and the Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJTF).

Steadily advancing in different corridors of the theatre towards identified enclaves, the dogged troops operating under the shared aspiration of the MNJTF made gradual but unprecedented incursions into the insurgents dens.
Some of the areas cleared include ZANARI, ARINA WOJE which served as a major fabrication workshop, ASAGAR, LARKI and GARERE. Other areas cleared include KERENOA, WURJE, AREGE, ABADAM, DORON LELEWA, KOLARAM and several other locations around the Islands. Within the period of this operation, well over a hundred terrorists have been neutralised.

Including over 10 top commanders neutralised following intelligence driven lethal air strikes in the Lake Chad islands by the combined Air Taskforces. Some of the commanders include Abubakar Dan Buduma, Abubakar Shuwa, Abu Ali and Abu Jubrilla among others.
Relatedly, sophisticated weapons of different calibres were either destroyed or captured including a 105 mm artillery piece, several canoes/boats, motorcycles, bicycles, other terrorists' equipment, several Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) making factories and bunkers were destroyed. In the course of the operation, significant number of innocent citizens mostly women and children held captive by the criminals were rescued. Large quantity of food stuff (grains), fuel dumps, illicit drugs, terrorists' uniforms and other house holds materials were recovered and destroyed immediately.

Recent activities of the Operations include a clearance patrol to Fedondiya settlement where logistics and foodstuffs including several bags of maize and beans, motorcycles, some immobilized and cannibalized military and civil vehicles, were discovered. Others include grinding machines ,other vehicle fabrication tools and military uniforms were all destroyed and set ablaze in the location.
It is obviously a big Boko Haram /ISWAP camp having another large IED making and vehicle borne IED making factory that was cleverly camouflaged to prevent detection from the air. In a related development, the MNJTF troops on clearance patrols in the general areas of Kimeguna near the Lake Chad in Niger republic accosted BHT/ISWAP logisticians ferrying Four Hundred Fifty Seven (457) bags of fish in several carts. The bags of fish were immediately destroyed in line with the MNJTF Standing Operating Procedure, while the suspects are being profiled.

The obviously frustrated criminal,BHT/ISWAP have resorted to indiscriminate laying of IEDs and use of Vehicle Borne Explosive Devices attacks. One pattern noticed in the operation is that the criminals hastily withdraw and avoid making contact with the approaching troops .
They instead rely on suicide vehicle borne attacks. About four (4) different such attacks have so far targeted the determined troops who have not been deterred. Sadly, eighteen (18) soldiers including an officer have been wounded in these attacks and have been evacuated to various military medical facilities for treatment while three soldiers and one member of the CJTF paid the supreme sacrifice.

Despite the obvious challenges of difficult terrain,IED threats and sundry challenges, especially in this religious season, the troops continue to maintain the momentum, remaining focused and determined to pursue and decimate the fleeing terrorists, wherever they go in the Lake Chad islands. The Force Commander (FC) MNJTF, Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim has commended the Deputy Force Commander, sector commanders, other officers and especially the gallant officers and men of MNJTF and other operations, including the CJTF actively operating in the field for their courage and commitment. While paying tribute to the members of this operation, who paid the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, he referred to them as heroes that would never be forgotten.
He also prayed for the quick recovery of the wounded heroes. The FC urged the troops to be resolute and bold to finally eradicate the criminals from the Lake Chad areas and promised continuous logistics support to the troops. General Ibrahim advised the terrorists to lay down their arms like thousands of their colleagues who had done so instead of pursuing a futile and failed cause. He finally appealed to the communities in the areas of operation and beyond to always support security forces by passing credible information on the terrorists quickly to bring the scourge of terrorism in the area to an end. Buratai, made this known in a statement signed by former director army public relations officer Brigadier General Sani Usman, issued in Abuja.

The statement made available to Newsmen, reads; “The attention of His Excellency, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), Nigeria’s Ambassador to Republic of Benin and former Chief of Army Staff, has been drawn to calls and dissemination of campaign posters calling on him to join partisan politics and contest for Presidential candidature of one of the political parties by some persons.

“However, it is essential to state that the Ambassador has never indicated interest, discussed with, or directed anyone on such matters. Therefore, such calls and posters should be discountenance as they did not emanate from him, nor is he interested in them. It is entirely the handiwork of some people for reasons best known to them.

“His Excellency wishes to reiterate his contentment and commitment to national service in his present capacity as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Benin Republic. He remains loyal and eternally grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari for the opportunity to serve. He, however, wishes to thank all well-meaning persons, friends and well-wishers who showed concern over this development”.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Benin Republic, and former Chief of Army Staff, His Excellency Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), has advocated for continuous training among the Armed Forces of Nigeria as panacea for excellence in strategic leadership. Politics / Buratai; Reflecting On The Gains Of The Army General Turned Diplomat by IDanfulani(m): 8:26pm On Jan 11, 2022
Buratai; Reflecting On The Gains Of The Army General Turned Diplomat

By Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani

When he served, as Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and leader of the counter-insurgency operations, His Excellency, Ambassador Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd) stretched his last energies, to save his country, from the twinges of insurgencies and insurrections. He donated his life and strength to the cause of liberating humanity to the best of his capacity and conscience for six years in leading the battle in the trenches.

But life has mixed experiences; some pleasant and others unpleasant. So, Amb. Buratai has been publicly arbitrated maliciously or accurately eulogized based on who holds the other end of the stick, as ennobled by his personal perceptions.

Nonetheless, he is not exhausted yet. There are still a lot of treasures embedded in Gen. Buratai (rtd) unknown to many Nigerians. He is a mystique of some sort, with multilayered ingeniousness. Its easy to describe him as a soldier of the trenches or a warmonger of the finest breed. And it’s also very appealing to denote Gen. Buratai as an administrator of rare configuration in military circles. His service records yawns with uncommon accomplishments.

But these are just the elementary understanding of Nigeria’s envoy to the Republic of Benin, His Excellency, Amb. Tukur Y. Buratai. He created wonderous impacts and made indelible imprints in Nigeria’s battles with Boko Haram terrorism. In just 5 years, he set unimaginable records in the anti-terrorism combats in the country. His shadows while he served his fatherland in the warfront were acknowledged by national and international bodies/ world leaders.

President Muhmmadu Buhari’s appointment of Gen. Buratai (rtd) and his posting to the Republic of Benin was for strategic reasons. Fighting and defeating terrorism requires more than just having a properly trained army and warfare weapons. It transcends such basic considerations. It needs international alliances, collaboration and partnership with other foreign nations.

Benin Republic is strategic to Nigeria for several reasons. As a nation which shares a major commercial border with Nigeria- the Seme border, the country has come with its enough blessings on the economic front; and much as the concomitant burden. Both legitimate and illicit trade transactions occur on the border. The Seme border’s most terrifying nightmare to Nigeria includes trans-border crimes such as smuggling of firearms and contraband goods into the country.

While smuggled weapons have exacerbated insecurity in Nigeria; smuggled goods deny the Nigerian Government of its essential revenue or tax levies on imported goods. Importation of banned items also destroys the local economy and kills productivity. Nigeria has battled with these malaises for years.

Angered by the danger posed by such sabotaging acts, President Buhari closed Nigerian borders, including the Seme border in August 2019, to curb smuggling of goods and weapons by these economic criminals.

Nigeria’s greatest problem on insecurity is battling banditry and terrorism, which has lasted for over 10 years. Much as the country has attempted to weaken terrorists and bandits operations within, they resurge from time to time, exalting more powers through smuggled weapons into the country.

Through subtle talks and persuasions, Benin Republic joined the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), a regional security outfit set up to confront the madness of terrorism in the West African sub-region. The original countries in this arrangement are Nigeria, Niger and Chad republics. But the needed cooperation for better gains has to be constantly activated or renewed by Nigeria.

And there is a bright hope to end these tribulations with Gen. Buratai (rtd), a soldier who demonstrated his zeal, passion and determination to see to the greater security and peace for humanity, especially in Nigeria, now serving as a bridge between Nigeria and Benin, one of the countries which greases the problem. It is therefore right to say, from the trenches, Gen. Buratai (rtd) has taken up the battle against terrorism and banditry on the diplomatic plane.

Considering that the international community is focal in the fight against armed gangs, in addressing the security challenges in Nigeria, the posting of Amb. Buratai to the Republic of Benin has countless blessings. He is in a better position and more experienced to search for diplomatic solutions to Nigeria’s porous borders which facilitate smuggled weapons from that axis by striking a mutual understanding with the country to checkmate the trend.

Not everything is achieved through brute force or laws. So, diplomacy and international relations on smooth template comes handy in resolving certain problems. Negotiations and dialogue between nations have solved knotty problems which years of wars or conflicts have failed to resolve.

Therefore, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai’s (rtd) ambassadorial mission in Benin republic will harvest and sustain multilateral ties with the West African country. As attested by his impeccable credentials in public service, Buratai is trusted to galvanize international support from this country in the final defeat the Boko Haram insurgency and allied insurgencies in Nigeria.

Gen. Buratai is famed for his passion for multiple approaches in fighting terrorism. While in the service of the Nigerian Military, he was a consistent exponent of the adoption of non-kinetic weapons in fighting terrorism in the country. His service now as Nigeria’s ambassador to Benin republic is a good icing on the cake, hence a standard platform has been raised for him to utilize his competence on embalming the multi-dimensional security issues afflicting Nigeria for peace, progress and security of the country.

Nigerians who know the worth and treasures in Gen. Buratai, applauded his diplomatic sojourn to Benin Republic jubilantly. The timing is also auspicious. Due to sustained pressures, the Federal Government of Nigeria reopened its closed borders in December 2020, after it nearly broke international relations between the two countries. By implication, while Government is desirous to encourage legitimate or authentic trans-border trade and commerce, it must also necessarily confine the operations within the prisms of approved international laws.

Consequently, Amb. Buratai’s first duty or challenge in this direction is how to renew the broken trade relations between Nigeria and Benin in terms profitable to both countries, in accordance with prescriptions of the ECOWAS Protocols. No magic can work better, rather than diplomatic engagements, which Amb. Buratai is poised to vigorously pursue.

Again, Amb. Buratai is working round the clock to promote national security through the Nigeria/Benin border. Topmost on his agenda is how to curb smuggling of arms and other dangerous weapons into Nigeria through the Benin border. It is a germane issue and uppermost on the minds of Nigerians. His initial steps are commendable in less than two months in office.

Amb. Buratai has also engaged the Government of Benin Republic on ways to curb the large scale smuggling of goods into the country. It is a practice orchestrated by economic wolves and saboteurs’ which has deprived Nigeria of critical revenue in billions of naira annually for the development of public infrastructure. With these loopholes blocked, it would open the sure path to a greater and more rapid development of Nigeria under the Buhari Presidency. Individuals engaged in the business of importation will also have robust transactions in a competitive and protected environment.

Gen. Buratai performed incredibly, as Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in the very few months of his resumption of duty. He is again replicating the same feat in Benin. Nigerians are looking forward to more of such exploits in his mission in Benin Republic. And the quick wins have started trickling into Nigeria, evident in the curtailing of the flow of smuggled weapons into the country. The reduced tempo in acts of terror or banditry. The series of surrenders by terrorists and armed gangs to the Nigerian Army is an apt indication of their suffocation in various ways, including weapons supply.

Amb. Buratai has hit the ground running in his usual fashion. And as a friendly and likeable leader, the Nigerian Embassy staff in Benin Republic are in high spirits to work with him. They are excited with his vision of service and willing to actively assist him to re-energize his foreign mission in that country. Gen. Buratai’s (rtd) reign will definitely birth prosperity for both nations.

With Amb. Buratai at the helms of affairs, Nigeria is bound to see a new form of healthier bilateral engagements with Benin. He has already set modalities in motion to entrench a culture of mutual benefits of the trans-border trade between the two countries. Amb. Buratai is ensuring that not only Benin Republic’s Cotonou smiles in the long run; but Lagos and indeed, Nigeria count multiple gains from the business interactions.

The leadership style plus moral courage of Gen Buratai has since assisted heavily in taming the activities of the terrorists in the North East and banditry in the North West, despite occasional hitches or setbacks here and there not withstanding.

Clearly, many factors are accountable for the achievements recorded in checkmating insecurity in Nigeria. Some of the factors are – Gen Buratai’s courage, charisma, perseverance and leadership by example has made him a hero and one of the greatest motivational military Commanders in the military history of Nigeria.

So far, he has shown extraordinary commitment, selfless service and devotion to duty oftentimes at the risk of his health and at the risk of his life.

Credible reports have it that Gen Buratai, in some cases, led his troops in the battlefield with resounding victory.

As a patriotic Nigerian who is fully concerned with the happenings on security of our country, it is easy for me to list some of the visible achievements of Lt Gen TY Buratai during the period under review.

Successful war against terrorism

Despite the asymmetric, complexity and international dimension of the Boko Haram and ISWAP Terrorism (BHT), and the dwindling fortunes of the Nigerian troops in the areas of equipment, motivation and the will to fight, Gen Buratai has within a short time succeeded in reinvigorating troops’ morale and fighting spirit through deliberate multiple dynamic war strategies to keep pace with the mutating nature of terrorism.

Thus, it is interesting but not surprising that in less than 6 months the troops recovered lost ground and pushed on to defeat terrorism in our nation.

The NA in collaboration with other security agencies have so far dominated the area of combat and continue to carry out sustained operations against the Boko Haram and ISWAP Criminals.

Similar operations are simultaneously going on intensively in the North Western states of Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, Sokoto and Zamfara to checkmate banditry activities like kidnapping, cattle rustling, farmers-herders clashes among others.

1. Improved Internal Security Operations

Internal security operation in Nigeria has improved dramatically from where we were in 2015 when Gen Buratai took over command of the NA. Before he took over as the army chief, NA was in most cases in the news for abuse of human rights and some professional misconduct such as reckless extortion on the highways, illegal duty and poor dressing among others. These professional malfeasances have been gradually eradicated to the barest minimum through deliberate institutionalized efforts by the COAS.

Additionally, on the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, it is obvious that alot of succeses have been achieved in the areas of fighting terrorism in the North East and banditry in North West.

Suffice to state that the hitherto identified security threats in the south east, south west and south south have all been effectively checkmated.

Security challenges such as farmers – herders conflict, communal conflict, kidnapping, armed robbery, arms sales/arms proliferation, armed robbery and Cultistism as well as violent activities of outlawed secessionist agitators have been checkmated to the level that the hitherto troubled zone is now one of the most peaceful region in Nigeria.

Similarly, in both south south and south west zones, the threats of militancy, kidnapping, sea piracy, illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalization have all been brought to the barest points.

Although there are some potent threats that require continuous operational review which the NA under Gen Buratai is working on a regular basis.

1. Effective Civil-Military Relations As a Force Multiplier in Insurgency War

As a polyvalent military strategist and war time military Commander, Gen Buratai has since recognized the importance of civil populace in helping to win war against terrorism and banditry activities.

He has through various corporate social responsibility/ intervention projects identified the need to assist some selected lucky fluky communities with palliatives and free medical outreaches to help enhance relationship between host communities and the NA in its area of operations.

This effort helps tremendously in creating harmonious working relationship between the troops and the locals with the benefit of sharing information that could be of interest and advantage to the success of military operations and the process is ongoing.

Accordingly, the NA is supporting the Government’s efforts at encouraging Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to return to their ancestral homes.

To this end, the army under Gen Buratai conducted Operation Last Hold designed to further degrade BHTs, facilitate the relocation of IDPs back to their communities as well as to promote excellent civil-military relations which have so far yielded the desired results and require continous collaborative efforts and supports from relevant stakeholders to consolidate on this achievement.

It is important to state that through Operation Last Hold, over 5,000 IDPs have returned to their communities in Northern Borno State as reported by the media.

1. Reorganisation of Army towards professionalism

The NA has so far witnessed a lot of reorganization and injection of modern equipment, platforms and hardwares in a bid to improve the overall operational responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency.

It is on record that new divisions and new commands have been created namely 6 Division Portharcourt, 7 Division Maiduguri and 8 Division Sokoto to combat terrorism and the lingering insecurity across the country.

Also Special Forces Command, Nigerian Army Women Corps, NA Special Forces Training School in Buni Yadi Yobe State and Cyber Warfare Command among many institutional reforms created by the COAS for the present and indeed more profoundly future benefits of Nigeria.

1. Enhanced Trainings and Capacity Building for NA Personnel*

Training and retraining of NA personnel is one of the topmost priorities of Gen Buratai. For instance, at an occasion recently, Gen Buratai said –”In the area of training, we have expanded our in-theater training for troops in the frontlines to afford them the required capabilities to operate and conduct effective operations. Special attention was also given to providing local and foreign training opportunities for all cadre of officers and men.

In the Year 2018 alone, a total of 156 personnel have attended foreign courses while 2,390 have attended courses and training programmes here in Nigeria ranging from masters degree programmes to workshops, seminars and conferences. The NA has also hosted over 300 local and international conferences, seminars or workshops either solely or in-conjunction with other relevant bodies.

We hereby hailed the Army General turned Diplomat for all these achievements

Alleged Abduction Of Commuters Along Maiduguri -Damaturu, False Alarm - Operation HADIN KAI

The attention of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has been drawn to series of unsubstantiated reports making rounds today, 11 December 2021 on social media and some pages of newspapers on the purported abduction of Maiduguri bound commuters by members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) along Mainok and Borgozo in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

*Arewa Group Slams Journalists For Linking Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau To DSS Arrest*

A group, Arewa Think Right Group has tasked journalists to cross check information, facts and clarify from reliable sources before going to press.

The charge was handed out by the National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Hamza Alkasim, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Thursday December 9, 2021, in which they frowned at those responsible for reports, alleging that a former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Rtd) was arrested by the Departmental of State Security Services (DSS)

"We were shocked and totally disappointed with media houses that reported the news as the former COAS, Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Rtd) was arrested by the DSS.
This is a blatant lie. The former COAS was never invited nor arrested by the DSS.

"Without mincing words, we categorically state that although we heard another Dambazau was arrested, it was not the former COAS they declared.

They wondered why some media organisations published the story as such, adding that it is a clear case of mischief.

"Linking the former COAS, General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau to DSS arrest was not fair, because he was never invited nor arrested. Instead, one Brigadier General Idris Bello Dambazau (Rtd) was arrested," they stressed

The group said that the Former COAS was a man of proven integrity and respect who contributed and served his fatherland with passion and humility.

Crime / Unmasking Enugu Based Murderous Terrorist Group Led By Tochukwu Cornelius Okeke by IDanfulani(m): 7:55pm On Aug 16, 2021
UNMASKING ENUGU BASED MURDEROUS TERRORIST GROUP LED BY TOCHUKWU CORNELIUS OKEKE

In last four months, Enugu State had witnessed series of security threats from activities of unknown gunmen who engaged in selective assasinations and attacking security deployments across the state. Many where kept in the dark of who are really this unknown gunmen?

According to a military source who spoke under condition of anonymity on the unmasking of an Enugu based terrorist group operating under the guise of Unknown Gun Men; some high calibre criminal syndicates now see opportunities in undermining national security as a new trend and profitable business. They reason that with the heightened political tension occasioned by polarization of polity along ethnic and religious lines, they can profit financially and politically by pretending to be advancing and protecting their regional or ethnic interests while in the real sense of it, they are only pursuing their personal goal of engineering and benefiting from the crisis.

Following the activities of the Unknown Gun Men in Imo state, Tochukwu Okeke aka Owo who double as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State, seized the moment to form a terrorist group that will operate as Enugu Unknown Gun Men. His well-structured terrorists were armed to the teeth and heavily sponsored by some politicians who hope to find greater relevance in the crisis.

Their targets were policemen, soldiers and civilians. They wasted no time before attacking soldiers and policemen in Enugu state. Before the arrest of their leader Tochukwu and destruction of some of their camps, they have carried out the following attacks on police and military facilities within Enugu: (1) Adani Police Division, (2) a Military Checkpoint along Adani- Omoh road. (3) Ezeagu Police Division. (4) A military Check point along Orji River-Udi road (5) military Check point at Nnenwe (6) a military checkpoint along Enugu Abakaliki Road and a host of others including a police checkpoint at Obeagu along Enugu-Agbani road. Tochukwu who by those attacks has masterminded the killing of over 20 soldiers and policemen apart from the destruction of their facilities, equally received payment to kill civilians, and carry out kidnapping for the purpose of raising money, prominent among his civilian victims are Late Justice Stanley Nnaji, Late Ifeanyi Okeke, Paul (the manager of Sunny BRIGHT Motors and Prof. Samuel Ndubuisi of SEDI and other too numerous to mention.

Recently one of their Camps was raided at Akpawfu-Amangwunze in Nkanu West Local Government Area were several arms, ammunitions, cars and charms were recovered. Tochukwu personal House in New Haven Enugu was equally raided and military grade weapons were recovered.
With arrest of Tochukwu and destruction of their camps in Orji Rivers, Agwu and Nkanu, peace has gradually returned to Enugu. Enugu people can now sleep with their two eyes close. And In the case of Enugu state, the Unknown Gun Men are now known and Tochukwu is the face behind the mask.

The Tochukwu terror group has no sympathy to the course of IPOB and when they kill policemen and soldiers, they do so for reasons which include: a. to capture their weapons; b. to terrorise the public; c. to subdue the government into doing their bidding and settling them with huge amount of money.

This is the unfortunate reality today that an individual who was appointed SSA on Security by the Governor without a history of service in any security institution, probable because of his popularity in the underworld has turned around to use his new platform to form a deadly terror group destroying the very government he was recruited to help. LEOPARD WILL INDEED NEVER CHANGE ITS SPOTS. ENUGU INDEED IS IN THE HANDS OF GOD
Let’s hope that the family of those soldiers, policemen and civilian find solace in God and comforted by the fact that the mastermind of the untimely death of their love ones has been apprehended by the long arms of the law. May their gentle souls rest in peace.
