Well said, and these and the ones hammering on his "creativity" yet majority of his passes are backwards.
Again , you are wrong but a blind man has some inherent ignorance. You chose to see what you want to see. Aribo made more back passes , actually

Aribo is the natural CM support for ndidi. He is the fulcrum around which that midfield turns..

We are yet to see Aribo's full attacking potential because he has been burdened with defensive duties..

One of Nwakali's weakness is his work rate. If you put him in the midfield with Ndidi, his work rate will always let us down and this maybe ignored if he created bucket loads of chances which I am not sure he will do either because he does nothing to boost the attack...
Well , we have seen how Aribo-Ndidi has turned out , but we also saw what changed when Nwakali came in.

Joe Aribo vs Sudan: Impressive showing.

Aribo in 65mins:

94% passing accuracy (43 accurate passes)
29 passes in own half.
14 passes in/into opposition half.
1/2 accurate long balls (50%)
1 shot on target
1 shot off target
100% dribbling success (2/2)
8/12 ground duels won
1/1 aerial duels won
4 tackles
2 interceptions
1 foul committed
Was fouled twice.
9 recoveries.
Lost possession 7 times.

Also, Had a key pass to Awoniyi that set up a very good cross pass that was not utilised in the end. The stats didn't pick that up as a Keypass but I do.

Cc Idennaa. You asked for it. wink
Not really that impressive if we break it further down:

*An attacking midfielder made 29 back passes into own half and 14 into opposition half. *I expect this posting from a DM.
* Only 2 dribbles from an AM on for 65 minutes.
* Long ball abilities is zero , of course.
*Lost possession of ball 7 times...very poor and contributed to weak midfield.

Anyways , I will give him credit for 8 ground duel won, 94% passing rate and 9 recoveries made. However , I am not impressed.

Are you ready to be stunned? grin

Spoiler: He worked harder than Ndidi on the day. Ndidi only got better later on in the presence of Nwakali.
I think I have replied the point you made about Ndidi improvements when Nwakali came in. Ndidi was playing with so much confidence and conviction. Lol...well , I am not surprised, Nwakali will make you you enjoy your game.

This is where the hype come from. Truth is that Nwakali has something to contribute to the team. But easy on this bestness you pin on him. If he's our best, then our level is quite low.
Well , that is one straight way of looking at it. You could also say your most gifted midfielder ( remember I didn't use best...you did , my learned man...lol) just happened play in the second division. These things happen a lot. Sometimes, clubs doesn't prove the quality of a player.

Take this case in point ; Iwobi has struggled in England for many years with nothing to show for his ratings but he is still there because he is English and our gifted Nwakali could not even get workers permit to play in England.

The other day Cc.Kogs45 was here defending the "sufferings" of Aribo....he said Aribo went through alot in life because he dropped out of school...I was shocked

So our midfield was chaotic before he came in? grin

Are you trying to downplay Aribo or am i missing something.. Even though mikel was the president of backward passes, he protected the ball, dictated the pace of games, tackled like a monster, cherished wars and was smooth as silk.. Can you say the same about Nwakali?
When I talk now una go say I no like Aribo. Its quite funny how soon you guys forget. Have you forgotten we have been struggling in the midfield with Aribo featuring constantly when Rohr called the shots ?

Why is everyone acting like Aribo is some kind of excellent midfield maestro who has saved us and suddenly Nwakali is here to ruin it. Haven't we been struggling in the presence of Aribo and Iwobi ?

You guys really need to define what Aribo brings to the team....as for me , I am just looking and digging....lol

Exactly
Nwakali is a different type of player altogether
He is a DLP, not a DM or an AM
As long as peeps don't understand these subtle but profound differences, we will keep having all the Nwakali arguments et al
Nwakali has played both as right winger/right side midfielder and attacking midfielder.

In fact , having Nwakali as AM makes him the most dangerous player in your box 18. Nwakali has magical feet and eagle eye view.

I think the problem with Nwakali is after he had that one misfortune at the Dutch club and they offloaded him his confidence suffered over the years but his God given gifts are still there. I believe he will rediscover his confidence in this tournament and win the trust of his teammates.

Furthermore , Nwakali is actually a great leader on the field; I remember he used to yell at his teammates for messing up play at Chile 2015 U17....lol. Nwakali was a total boss both on and off the field and his mates , Osimhen , Chukwueze , Bamgboye etc respect him. As soon as the player learn what Nwakali is capable of they would adjust for him because he has got special gift ....no be hype

TheSuperNerd:
But the thing is he did. And the stats picked it up. Says he executed 100% of his long balls attempts. 3/3.

If we all watch the game with keen attention again, we would all see the exact moments he recorded all three long balls. The one that easily comes to mind was the one to Zaidu because it was quite effortless and sweet.

And yes, he has been very decent as a sub and doing what a bonafide central Midfield player would do. I mean he is doing exactly what we all hail Pedri for. Even Jorginho for goodness sake.

Pedri is a pass master and so is Nwakali. Both are adept at ball recycling and keeping the possession going for a team. They are also playmakers from deep. We hail Pedri as a Baller but we look down on Nwakali. It's funny

This is not hype. Nwakali came in and we had better control of the middle. He did what he was instructed to do. Keep possession. Progress if necessary and just generally keep things tidy and cool in the middle.

Ndidi even fared better alongside Nwakali but Eguavoen is still keen to allow things gel gradually. I think this is why he still haven't gone with a 3 man midfield.

The moment Eguavoen unleashes an Ndidi-Nwakali-Aribo trio combo may just be the moment in time we all finally see what I have been cross-analysing on all 3 players finally bear fruit on a tactically Balanced scale.

Against Bissau, let's see what Eguavoen and the crew unleash as our Middle game approach.
You are right about Ndidi's change of attitude when Nwakali came it. Suddenly I thought Ndidi was playing a 10 with his charging runs into the opponent spaces. I was actually shocked and thought Nwakali was playing DM.

These guys here don't understand the options and dept the presence of Nwakali bring to this team. I see it because I am person that thrives in details...my profession requires me pay attention to every detail.....maka ndi ngbu.

Focus on Aribo's strengths rather than his weakness.

He is no MF conductor but a hardworking and highly technical box-to-box midfielder who especially loves to attack the box.
So don't expect him to conduct plays. His style is different and he is bringing it to the table effectively.

Nwakali on the other hand is a MF conductor. So dictation/conduction will come easily to him. Finito.
Ok: I probably lost my day but might you remind me what is Aribi's duty as a midfielder who wears the legendary number 10. I want to know because he is not a striker.

Nwakali comes in as a sub Olayinka too
You want to start Nwakali from the bench ? Your most gifted midfielder ? Are you not aware he should be starting games ahead of every other midfielder there if it wasn't for Rohr's shortsightedness.

Nope. I disagree. It's komekn, Odenigbo and some others trying to make it look that way.

Truth is Both can play together. I have always said this.
Oga , stand your ground and make your arguments without throwing other people under the bus. I never compared them but due to the fact they both play in the midfield and this midfield has continued to struggle it requires thorough assessment , and possibly solutions. The questions should be ; Who plays there ? What do they bring and why is the midfield unable to hold possession and connect with attack. When we dissect thess issues bedevilling the team names of players come up.

I dont have anything against Aribo , all I ask of him is to bring stability to the team since its his responsibility....Aribo's duty is not to score but to instill a level of creativity and cohesion in the opponents area. Sadly , Aribo struggled to bring order in the first 25 minutes and it was during this time the midfield was in tatters. Yes , we scored an early goal which sort of concealed our apparent faults and lack of team play in the midfield.

Still don’t know why pple should be dumping refuse at that point beside Glo office. The air around there stinks...garbage here and there.
