The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that the N-Power programme portal >> portal.npower.gov.ng has reopened for Npower registration 2017 on June 13, 2017.

This was made public via the Twitter handle of the media team in Aso rock on orders of Prof Yemi Osinbajo.


The first phase of N-Power Scheme in 2016 was to target Nigeria’s critical needs in education, agriculture, technology, creative, construction and artisanal industries.


The Federal Government of Nigeria designed the N-Power Programme as a replacement to Graduate Internship Scheme (SURE – P) launched by former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2012 to help reduce youth unemployment by providing young graduates and non-graduates with the skills, tools and livelihood to enable them to advance from unemployment to employment, entrepreneurship and innovation.

N-Power is also preparing Nigeria to become a global outsourcing hub where our young Nigerians can export their services to work on global projects that earn Nigeria, foreign exchange.

Npower Recruitment Requirements

N-Power aspires to provide a platform where most Nigerians can access skills acquisition and development. At this time however, the initial modular programmes in N-Power are designed for Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35.
You will need to meet the minimum requirements (if any) for your respective programme. Generally, selection is based:

On your expression of a genuine interest in whichever area you decide;
Passing the relevant tests;
Your willingness to push yourself beyond your comfort zone; and
Ability to show a flair to develop all the skills you need to be the best you can be.

I have following your discussion with seunmsg, you are totally off point here so you mean if oil price suddenly crashes to say 15dollars/barrel , How will the govt provide funding adequately for the ministries. I think everything has to do priorities based on available fund per period

When you become a minister (I doubt that happening though), just walk straight to ministry of finance and collect all funds allocated to your ministry in the budget.

Stop discussing what you don't understand. MDA's don't just sit down and expect funds once the budget is signed. They still have to go back to budget office to get approval for their quarterly allocations. They will have to submit a proposal on how they want to spend funds allocated to them in the budget and back it up with advertised projects where necessary. The budget office will then give approval based of availability of funds, priority of the projects and other factors known to them. Ministry of finance will then release funds to the MDA after the approval.

Resources are scarce and budget doesn't get implemented more than 60-70% most times irrespective of whether the budget is a law or not. None of our budgets had performed up to 100% since 1999. So, stop the ignorant belief that ministers can just walk into ministry of finance and demand for funds allocated to their ministry in the budget.

The minister can't just walk into ministry of finance and demand for money, that is not how government works.

The ministry of budget and planning controls the budget. All MDAs will submit their capital proposal to them and they will give approval based on the availability of funds and other factors that are best known to them. Once an MDA gets approval from budget and planning, it is then the duty of the finance ministry to release the funds. If there is no approval for a project from budget office, finance can't give you shishi.
