PoliticsRe: Only Lagos Can Survive Without Oil – Fashola by ideology(m): 10:15am On Jan 18, 2013
He might be right, but if the economy of lag depends on tax, then he shd remember that the tax payers are directly or indirectly connected to oil revenue. a greater percentage of the tax generated comes from oil companies.
for the ports, if not the politics going on, traffic in the lag port will reduce. the one in port harcourt supplies materials mostly for oil and gas companies, then politics made tinapa in calabar not functional since it will shift most importations thru calabar port. tinapa alone can house many industries in lag, but politics saw it that lag will lose revenue from tax they thwarted the growth of tinapa. if not 60% of the companies in lag would have moved to east.
