I want to raise an issue about the import and export processes in Nigeria, especially the Apapa and Tincan ports in Lagos, Nigeria.

Why is it almost impossible to bring in a container or export one without paying through your nose ( from expensive agent charges, high custom duties, high APMT charges, high cost of transportation to illegal road blocks by various security agents where they collect their own illegal dues). Multiple hurdles make it an execerbating process before you now face the terrible traffic situation at the ports. Not to forget the shipping companies who will torture you and make you feel they are doing you a favour by answering you.

I thought the office of the vice president was looking into the "Ease of doing Business in Nigeria" , abi this one no follow?

I was having this discussion with someone who thinks the younger generation cannot handle power if given the opportunity because the older generation has so inculcated their old corrupt lifestyle into the younger generation. In other words there is no hope for Nigeria.

I am of the opinion that the younger generation will change things for the better because we are more exposed, more learned, can provide practical solutions for our current problems. What the OP doesn't understand is that wise countries talk of the future as often as they do the present. They discuss future possibilities, future catastrophe, future technologies etc. That's what we call foresight. There are many American sci-fi films that were acted to show the technologies of the future and in no time at all those things were made. Same as films revealing future catastrophic happenings and in the future those things occured. This is what we call foresight. Few pastors and highly intelligent beings in our own Africa here will rather spiritualize the gift of foresight and attribute their guessworks to the revelation of their gods, instead of simply stating that they were predicting the future, which could either happen or not.
So Nigerians should not be surprised that Bill Gate predicted and it came to pass because even the wisest pastor in Africa is not as wise as him, so if he makes correct predictions sometimes, why should we be surprised. Even Octopus Paul was successful in guessing right sometimes
