#I started asking questions here and there, doing as if I don't even know anything, about UNILORIN admission even before I obtained JAMB form. Contacted people, both young and old, seeking support and vital information... Jacking like Kilode... In the end, I got it!

UNILORIN To Admit 7, 800 Students Out Of 65,000 Candidates For 2015/2016 Session Filed in UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN by Admin on September 15, 2015 • 0 Comments Latest report reaching us has it that only 7,800 out of 65,000 students that sat for the post- UTME examinations of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) would be admitted for the 2015/2016 academic session. The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali made this known during a press conference heralding the 40th anniversary of the institution in Ilorin yesterday. He said, though many candidates had preference for UNlLORIN because of its stable academic calendar, the carrying capacity of the institution is just 7,800. The VC however said the institution has the required infrastructure and human resources to accommodate more candidates. He said the authorities of the institution had complained to the necessary quarters on the need to increase the university’s carrying capacity. “The university has more facilities, more academic programmes, more good lecturers, more patronage in terms of candidates, and other needed infrastructures that can accommodate more students,” he stated. While speaking on the reason for conducting UTME for a total number of 65,000 candidates, knowing fully well that the university will only take 7,800, the vice chancellor said that the reason was borne out of the quest to have the best students admitted out of the good lot. Ambali, who said that academic stability is the highest selling point of the university, added that the institution had been able to set sustainable standard “that is now envy of all universities in the country”. He said the university is lucky to have academic staff who engage only in constructive unionism.
