MI -24s have almost similar airframe design with the super frelon(Sa-321) French.

Frankly i have spoken with him and he got medicinal herbs but it didn't change anything, maybe he got a fake one. Air superiority using fighter jets with limited payloads will not do.

What is required is helicopter gunships equipped with air to ground capabilities like rockets and Gatling gun.

What good is a fighter jet when targeting sparse ground formations?

This is why the US have the Warthog air to ground fighter whose role is mainly to target ground troops.

But the most annoying thing about this Boko Haram thing is that it is painfully obvious that our troops are spread thin along a very wide area. The boko haram insurgents are also given the opportunity to regroup and attack at will which shows that they dictate the when nd where combat is to occur.
This is where the military has failed woefully. You don't give the insurgents breathing space but you put them on the defensive and run night and day. A sustained effort like this was what led to the group doing a tactical retreat out of populated areas nd seeking refuge in mountainous border regions.

Obviously the current command lacks the initiative or will in prosecuting this war. There is als the discipline issue and traitors especially among the officer cadre.

I have stated severally here that the war in the northeast is between the military themselves with Boko Haram claiming credit for teir own lapses and treasonable acts.

God help us all.

You will be surprised how effective a highly mobile small force scattered over a large area was able to crush a conventional army with air superiority.

All their tactics are errily similar to that of the Chadian forces and rebels fighting against Libyan forces.

The current president of Chad was decorated after the war for leading a successful campaingn as a military commander of the Chaian forces.

I know of the success of hilux type war, what I was pointing out is the tactless manner in which Boko haram drives in straight line convoys into towns , they convoys are very easy to sight from the Sky and with proper presence in the skies the airforce can make sure those convoys never move an inch .. Make no mistake no toyota rag tag group can beat a well structured military force that possess good recon ,good artillery , good infantry and superb air presence , we only saw their victory in Libya because of the west used air superiority to crush Ghaddafi forces which gave way for the rag tag rebels to drive their toyotas into already subdued towns.

For ur info Boko haram has stopped Guerilla warfare for a year , they sieze towns and hold on to them and even set up criminal governance in some places , for ur info they drive around in a porous poor battle formation of up to 30 Hilux soft body pickups which is when our Jets (if we have any) should pounce and extinguish them with ease.. Since they always get away scot free with their hilux convoy I would be right to say Nigeria doesn't have a single functioning jet that can hit things on the ground

With a 2000 strong attack force for Maidugri it seems BH wants to move further away from border cities in a bid to avoid confrontation with Chadian troops

to the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman
Abba to tell Joseph Mbu to release toll operators
arrested by his aides on Thursday 29 January.

In a statement by LCC, it pleaded with Abba to
prevail on Mbu to release its staff after they
were forcefully and unnecessarily seized from
their duty post in Lagos state.
According to the statement: “At about 6:09
p.m. on Thursday 29 January 2015, the newly
deployed AIG Zone 2, covering Lagos and Ogun
States,

(AIG Joseph Mbu) passed through Lane
8 at Toll Plaza 1 on the Eti-Osa Lekki-Epe
Expressway, (a toll road under concession to a
private concern, Lekki Concession Company-
LCC) with 6 police vehicles and an armoured
van in his convoy,” the statement said.
“Though it is customary to exempt law
enforcement agents and other agencies on
official duty from paying toll, each vehicle that
passes through the plaza still needs to be
processed as exempt vehicle to ensure
adequate reconciliation of daily transactions.
Consequently, while the toll collector was trying
to process the vehicles, the police officers in
the AIG’s convoy asked him to open the boom
for all the vehicles to pass through.
Unfortunately, all explanations by the Toll
Collector on the need to follow LCC’s
operational guidelines and to process the

we are likely to lose if we go to war with chad.patriotism and bragado aside,most of our military arsenal have been grounded,we dont have any supersonic combat jet that can challenge the chadian MiG-29{even without laser missiles},many of our MBTs are grounded,and the few we have are barely beating back BH in the north east,our APCs are limited and we have resorted to using hilux pickup vans to ferry our troops.
chad wouldnt have made this move if it wasnt prepared to fight nigeria,over the years they have stocked their armoury both through black market proliferations and also through legal international weapon purchase channels.they have waited over 50 years,they arent gonna take any chances.
we have 130 000 soldiers,chad has 30 000.but most of our soldiers are untrained almajiris,while chadian troops have been fighting all manner of battles for over 30 years.
