I can't forget sometime back I visit a friend and we end up in this quite sassy bar near his house for a drink next thing 3 mobile policemen walk into the bar and also order drinks and start making everybody laugh by dancing and joking the next thing is that one of the gets overly exited and fires a volley of 3 shots from his official AK 47 rifle into the air in jubilation and the everybody applauds but that was it for me I quickly grab my car keys and tell my friend let's go home even though he tries to appeal to me the mobile policemen were just being happy . The bottom line is that don't stay around any Nigerian policeman with a rifle because they lack the discipline requisite to bear such a powerful weapon safely |

maclatunji: Nah, not hating, just being factual. This Nnamdi Kanu case is a classic one of a 'spoilt child' running out of control. One of the most difficult things to do is to curb military men that have been trained to kill as a profession.
Never allow them at your doorstep in the first place should have been Nnamdi Kanu's motto and the Southeast leaders. However, Kanu's ego had run out of control and for a few months he forgot that he is just another citizen.
I frankly don't like the fact that he has by his utterances and actions put millions of lives at risk. If I have to make a choice between Nnamdi Kanu being convicted of treason and millions of people dying, I will have to choose the former. In the coming days you will come across an injustice to you that will shock you to the bone marrow but don't panic it will just be a lesson meant to dilute the misconstrued thoughts in you and teach you to be a promoter of justice anywhere you go .. I just feel it ooo |

Politics › Re: Saraki Misfired: The Proscription Of IPOB Was Not Against The Law - CACAWA2 by idupaul: 3:46pm On Sep 18, 2017 |
Cacawa2: In June 2013, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan proscribed Boko Haram as a terrorist Organisation. This, he did, without any recourse to the High Court as most people would expect; and reasonably so.
There are two sections in the TPA act that may be deployed into making such declarations: Section 2 and; Section 9.
The TPA act makes provision for the declaration of a group as being a Terrorist group on a number of grounds.
It is very easy to refer to Section 2 of the act which makes provision for a process that involves judicial processes, procedures and pronouncement. Most applicable to local terrorism.
However Section 9 of the actmakes express approval for the executive arm to immediately declare a group as a Terrorist group. This is specifically in relation to international affiliations and sponsorship.
In the case of IPOB, there is reliable Intel available to the Nigerian Army suggesting the foreign links and backings of IPOB to certain international terrorism networks.
The move by the Nigerian Govt. is therefore in order and can only be upturned by any aggrieved person who takes the matter to a court of competent jurisdiction. In the mean time, the declaration remains in full force and anybody (either physically or over the internet), found to be soliciting for a terrorist group may be found culpable.
Let us be enlightened.
Regards,
CACAWA2

Nemesis1: Anti aircraft guns, armored tanks, rpg, were freely used by boko haram when Jonathan was there, Nigerians could almost look forward to their new videos like season films.
WHEN was the last time they released such videos in Nigeria? When was the last time they carried out carnage on Nigerians? Did you forget so soon Boko Haram bombed UN building under Jonathan's nose? , hundreds died, what about the motor park bomb, that was under Jonathan too
What about the caliphate they claimed along with several local governments? That was under Jonathan too, but instead of attacking issues he employed idiots like himself to blame boko haram on the north / his political enemies (basically the north)
Sambisa may not have been invaded, or burnt out, but I can assure you, less terrorists live there and all their weapons have been destroyed or captured by Buhari's administration Every smart person knows that the north was fully complicit in Boko haram under Jonathan where thousands joined the movement just because a Kafir was in power , we are also aware the Army mostly led by Northerners deliberately refused to fight under Jonathan so much he had to go hire the services of Mercenaries from Executive outcome of South Africa .. Jonathan was sabotaged from every angle..Today Boko haram is not getting as much support as it got from local populations and Obamas funding has even dried out since the change in leadership at the whitehouse |

Politics › Re: Diffrence Between Terrorists( IPOB) And Criminal Elements (Herdsmen) by idupaul: 10:49am On Sep 18, 2017 |
olisasegun: Immediately #IPOB was declared a terrorist group, some people started asking how come #Herdsmen are not declared a terrorist organisation.
Let me tell you the difference using different illustrations...
Armed robbery has been going on in Nigeria for over 50 years, how come armed robbers are not categorized as terrorists? Even though they carry weapons? The simple reason is because armed robbers are not a unified group.
■ They do not have a command hierarchy ■ They do not have political aims ■ Same applies to kidnappers...They are also criminal elements of our society but you cannot brand them as terrorists
The characteristics of a terrorist group are:
1. They have a group 2. They have a supreme leader 3. They have a leadership hierarchy 4. They have a base 5. They have a command centre 6. They have a recognized logo 7. They terrorize civilians 8. They have a militant wing 9. They have a political aim
The good thing is that Armed robbers, criminal herdsmen and kiddnerpers are not rewarded for their activities...The full wrath of the law is visited on them when they are caught. We have punitive laws for those categories of criminal elements...They are simply criminal elements in the society.
Same applies to the criminal herdsmen, they are a minority criminal elements in our society that carry out criminal acts such as armed robbery, kidnapping, killing and arson.
Terrorism is when you form a group, arm the group and unleash terror on innocent citizens using the name of group, with a command hierarchy in the pursuit of political aims, that is standard definition of #terrorism.
A #terrorist group are people who willingly join a group and actively participate in terror activities like the ETA, Al-Queda, ISIS and now #IPOB under one umbrella with supreme leaders, a political and militant wing with the aim of using violence and intimidation for pursuit of political aims.
But how do you brand armed robbers a terrorist group? Is it by the number of tribes involved in armed robbery?
The fact that the total armed robbers in the country comprise of 90% of a single tribe doesn't mean the whole tribe are armed robbers. The fact that 90% of the people engaged in drug trafficking are members of a particular tribe doesn't mean the whole tribe are drug pushers. The fact that majority of kidnappers are 90% members of a particular tribe doesn't mean the innocent members of the tribe should be tagged kiddnapers. Same way you can't brand all herdsmen terrorists because most of them are law abiding citizens who go about their daily activities peacefully. #Herdsmen are cattle rearers, and among them we have criminal elements.
So it will be unfair to tag the whole herdsmen terrorists because of the activities of a minority.
I so submit I think the international community that has since tagged Fulani herdsmen the 4th most dangerous terrorist group in the world are in a better position to know the correct definition of what terrorism means not you |
