Politics › Re: Electricity Tariffs: Why No Prepaid Meters Yet? by idupaul: 7:49am On Jan 15, 2017 |
laudate: The DISCOs make far more money issuing estimated bills to consumers, instead of installing pre-paid meters in the buildings of such consumers. With a pre-paid meter, you only pay for exactly what you consume. The amount you load on your meter, entitles you to a certain kilowatt of electricity for your usage. Think of the way recharge cards loaded on a GSM line, enables the owner of the phone to make calls. No credit, no calls.
But with estimated bills? What you are billed is solely at the DISCOs discretion. Na only dem know inside their mind, how much dem go charge you for dat month. It has little to do with your consumption. If they install pre-paid meters for everybody, haba, dem market go spoil finish be dat!! You never hear say "cunny man die, cunny man bury am?" That is the story behind why they cannot install pre-paid meters for everyone. Abi, you wan kill their business? That why they have the balls to be rejecting power from the TCN , because they can actually sell darkness to customers |

The facts remains that only about 20 percent of Nigerians can communicate properly in English language , most Nigerians speak a vernacular variation of English called pidgin while the rest just speak their native dialect .. If you doubt just take a walk to any ATM in Lagos and see the confusion that erupts when a regular ATM prompt is slightly changed I can never forget the time a bike hit my car in Lagos and I came out to talk with the bike man and he just kept staring at me without saying a word till I got pissed thinking he was being unremorseful and cocky till someone that could speak his language showed up and he started talking ,it was then I realised dude wasn't being cocky ,he just didn't understand what I was saying |

The sentiment here is that when you have the most powerful man in the world who believes in self determination just as the Biafrans do, it is a plus and not a minus for Biafrans. For Biafrans, that is worth cheering about no matter how insignificant it may be to others. Well said well said |

emmasege: Catholics are the crack on the wall of Christianity in Nigeria. Sultan and these northern cult always find it convenient getting along with them in lieu of CAN leadership which has been occupied by protestant and evangelical Christians in recent times.
It's like the enemy of my enemy being my friend. Catholic bishops are too arrogant to submit to CAN leadership and the Sultanate cannot stand the bluntness of CAN leadership when it comes to calling a spade a spade. I am Catholic but I must say you are right . Over the years I have noticed that Muslim organization prefer to deal with catholics because they always get the best bargains there for really cheap |
