RomanceRe: When A Man Can't Take A No For An Answer by ifeci: 8:01pm On May 31, 2012
The best way to deal with the situation is to take local gin- Mr. Ogogoro and now look straight into his eyes and dont laugh, he will take off. Or tell him that you just came back from marine kingdom and need to go back with him. He will take off.
OR pretend to like him and cut off his joystick. You can try that this night.

ComputersRe: Hibernating Or Logging Out: Which Is Preferable? by ifeci: 7:24pm On May 31, 2012
yea... I av a similar prob sha.. Bt i fink hibernatin is better cos it keep ur system workin faster n easily accessable. Unlike shortin down dat u need 2 start frm d scrab!
Hibernating does not make ur system work faster rather it slows it down because u hv programs running already and depending on how large the size of those programs are, it slows ur system while shutting down closes all programs so wen u restart, u can choose which programs u want to run
ComputersRe: Hibernating Or Logging Out: Which Is Preferable? by ifeci: 7:19pm On May 31, 2012
please both logging off and hibernating have different functions so you can't say one is better than the other. you hibernate when you have programs, docs, work, sites that you want to continue working on as you switch on ur system whether saved or unsaved, it could even be a movie u were watching and ur battery is down, u can just hibernate so when u charge or switch to another battery u can continue from where u stoped. while shutting down closes all programs. shutting down could also be used to troubleshoot your system in a situation where a program is not functioning properly, just shut down and it might be solved

i will pretend like i didn't read this...i was only trying to educate us that entertainment is subjective
pretend all you like but ur analogy was a total fallacy! subjective or unsubjective, football doesn't involve immorality like sex(in the open, for the whole world to see). you see! their the positives and negatives, which does the programme tend towards?
TV/MoviesRe: What's The Aim And Objective Of BBA Stargame ?? by ifeci: 5:49pm On May 31, 2012
hello!!!!! What is the aim and objective of football?...wait, let me answer that, twenty two grown up jobless men kicking a round object all over a marked pitch and brutalizing themselves in the process..i guess that is very entertaining.
mumu! wot an analogy

OMG now I know the people in Nairaland are bunch of unhappy people with serious family problems that nothing is funny anymore. Little wonder the weirdo comments here. BBA is extremely entertaining to me and others who find time to be happy, and entertainment is the aim. cheesos, I guess i am have been blogging on the wrong forum. Chinekeeeee
ur sister banging her azz out wit a dude she just met on a cable tv is funny and extremely entertaining to you abi? why don't you go have an in.c.est! and a point of correction, you don't blog on forums, you post! comments!
TV/MoviesRe: What's The Aim And Objective Of BBA Stargame ?? by ifeci: 5:38pm On May 31, 2012
I used to think that I was in a class of my own own until I saw this topic, the show is utterly useless! especially the girls who have lost their senses, getting naked and banging it out on screen for their parents and siblings to watch with all pleasure. why don't they go and act porn also.

@orikinla

Please get your facts right cos the last I checked his biography, MKO worked as an accountant at Unilag.

You are the arch-silly one here if it doesn't occur to you that I had sent the post perhaps just after the one you realized your gaffe was registered by the system. Get out more to learn so you will easily know that correcting an earlier gaffe of yours does not erase the initial foolishness of the error! Jonadumb even has not learned that lesson!
it is only a fool that does not stand to be corrected. my attention was drawn and I corrected myself but u were so quick to criticize which is what a fool will quickly do and you want now to blame it on "system" so sad systems can't respond, they would have told you how foolishly you type.
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 8:26pm On May 30, 2012
PapaBrowne:

What U've written is called double speak. You said Lagos is such a great brand name. Fine. You said MKO deserves a big time honour. Fine. Now, isn't it cool to associate such a hero as MKO with such a great brand like Lagos. You didn't make any noise when that polytechnic in Ogun was named after MKO. In your opinion that was OK. But here you think UNILAG is too big for him.
It's really sad how a man who spent years in jail and was eventually killed for our democracy would be disdained in such a manner over the naming of a University.

If Murtala Mohammed who barely did anything for Nigeria was named after our Major International Airport, why would any one reject MKO for just a University. Its sad and I'm amazed at the fact that the rejection is coming from the state in which he lived almost all his life. Very sad rejection.
abeg close mouth papabrowne! did they wait for 50 yrs before renaming lagos intl airport after accrued legacy, who knew lag intl airport then. More so, it was during the construction of a new international terminal that the name was changed! so u see, a new thing was built not an old terminal just changed. in essence don't compare both situations, they are not similar.
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 8:04pm On May 30, 2012
Idio.ts with IQ of -21 and GPA of 1.2 running around NL calling others daft. The joke is on you. How old were you in 1993? Ode! We fought for democracy not Abiola abi? Adamu! Where have you seen a struggle without a man triggering it? You think we would have come out if it was Shonekan? We were on campus back then and we came out because we believed in Abiola first then democracy next. You come here to post shyte when you were still running around in a creche then wearing superman pants and sucking feeding bottle. Ode!
how can you believe in the man first b4 democracy? thats misplaced priorities. you have to believe in democracy before you can believe in someone who will make the democracy work! believing in the man first means that any style of leadership he brings you will follow. and your here calling names and claiming age which has actually become a burden to you because you are stuck in wot u knew b4 without moving with present day events.
PoliticsRe: Assess Me After One Year - GEJ by ifeci: 7:53pm On May 30, 2012
You are the only one wrong here! Note that the posts on NL are a continuous conversation, not a one time thing where you can hope to hide an issue never to be discussed again! Also, when you make a promise, you can expect to be held to it and not just use mere empty words. This is what is done in America and similar countries where many Nigerians including yourself will almost kill yourself to live in!
Did u read my last post with ur behind or did I type in chinese? So now that u hv succeeded in telling us that you live in America, has the price of iya bolu's tomato changed in the market? unnecessary flaunting of stupidity.

And the verdict is similar, He has been a monumental failure

PoliticsRe: Why I Renamed UNILAG Moshood Abiola University - Jonathan by ifeci: 7:04pm On May 30, 2012
Honestly I do not know what Abiola thinks of this. All I know is the man, Abiola, that I grew up learning of and knowing in the 70's and 80's and part of the 90's, is not a man I would accord this level of honor to. I do not agree with renaming UNILAG for such a man. In my opinion, his name is a minus on the value UNILAG currently has, and strives for.
don't agree with this post. Abiola is a legacy no doubt. maybe u shld stop listening to hearsay and do a proper research on the Biography of MKO then maybe u will hv a change of hrt. on the other hand, unilag is a brand, a strong brand name that has been for a long time. do you know wot it takes to build a brand? for this long? its just like Coca cola waking up one day to change a brand name that has become house hold, do you know what it would take to build back that brand name? maybe never.
PoliticsRe: Why I Renamed UNILAG Moshood Abiola University - Jonathan by ifeci: 6:55pm On May 30, 2012
Honestly, l am yet to see one single Akokite (I mean one who actually completed his/her studies and graduated with honors...even if it was a 3rd class) AGREE with this Re-naming!
Anyone can "claim" to be a Unilag graduate but from what they write, you can easily see they have no value for that name and cant be a product of that school!
That the current students of the school (who are yet to lay claim to being an Alumni!) are already protesting this "diminishing of the "end product" of their years of study, speaks volume!

Abiola is an Icon, a top notch brand, in his own right. No one can take that away from him.
Unilag on the other hand, is a legacy and top academic brand in its own academic foray, as well.

Both are not the same thing, both dont need to be merged and both dont add value to each other!

Giove unto Abiola what he truly deserves (Political Edifices like Aso Rock, Eagle Square, National Assembly, re-stating/recognition of his mandate, e.t.c) but leave Unilag alone!.
Shikenna!
I like this post sha

fortyfeet: 6:23pm
yorubaman, you can see how they are, very unstable. if i'm a yoruba, i'll go hang myself for reasons of coming from an unfortunate tribe. in any case, i still feel pity for the family and encourage them to bear with the situation as it can't change.
you are already fortyfeet so u can just jump with ur head downwards; no need for a rope and stop being a bigot because dis is not a tribal issue!
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 6:19pm On May 30, 2012
Sorry, I am not one who goes around looking to please people with my opinions.

I rather stand for what I know is right, no matter what. All I have said of the person, Abiola, is true to this point. If you find any false statements I have made and have irrefutable evidence to counter it, be my guest. I am open to learning the truth. If not, maybe you should take time to learn of the man rather than jump on the praise bandwagon.

What I said of the value of the name to the school is true. Before you rename a product, one of things most like to consider is the value the new name brings in. Those against the renaming are more than likely not convinced that the new name will bring more value to the school than the old name has to this point. It is not rocket science.
I think you are having a misplaced knowledge here, Do you think we are talking abt products; like commodities? that's a faulty analogy. we are talking about a school that has built its legacy for over 50yrs and you wake up one morning and just change that! that's wot everybody is talking about and you are busy attaching it to the personality of MKO while believing in wot u choose to evn though its a wrong belief. dts being rigid & dts bad.
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 6:05pm On May 30, 2012
Don't try to run away from this. Yes, I agree. The question here is not whether or not people love or hate Abiola. That would be childish, excuse me, moronic, considering the vast majority here, and in Nigeria, never met or had a personal experience of the man.
So, the question here is more that of what value people place on the name MKO vs the name UNILAG. If the President had instead suggested LASPOTECH be renamed after MKO, there would probably have been less resistance. But this is UNILAG of all schools. Does the MKO name offer a value greater than what the school currently has for a name, that is the question.
@the bolded

that is not true! nobody is placing the personality or likeness of MKO in this context! can't u see dat u hv a lot of ppl disagreeing with ur opinion!? stop meddling the personality of MKO with the present event cos it has nothing to do with it.
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 4:10pm On May 30, 2012
...And so was MKO unloved and his name spat on!
what an empty statement!

God bless you sir! You have made my day. The Kobojunkies of this world are double speaks. They are a new breed of hypocrites. They have laid their hearts bare today for the whole nation to see. Mustafa is laughing in his prison cell and saying, I told them so. And they think the other geo politico zones will take them seriously after this. A kingsdom divided against itself. The Abiolas have already released a statement and you have to really weep for them. Kola himself said it that his father died for nothing.

And hear Kobojunkie's argument; he said June 12 has nothing to do with Abiola. Can you imagine that level of idiocy! It is alarming. Like saying Mandela has nothing to do with south African independence. I am beginning to think this kobo guy is less than 20 yrs old. A real dolt! He even compared Abiola to Orji Uzor Kalu. What an irredeemable idioti.c Arrow! I am just waiting to hear Al Mustafa's comment. Gonna be interesting.
Pls stop relating the present event with what mustafa said! this is not a tribal thing and students protesting are all not yorubas! its amazing how some people try to steal the moment and show their ethnic bigotry! this is something that almost everyone who has been to lag knows that it just doesn't make sense!
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 2:22pm On May 30, 2012
Excuse me but the rejection has everything to do with the worth placed on the individual MKO. This protest in essence asks the question "Who the hell is MKO that UNILAG should be re-named in his honor?".

Sure, maybe he is not hated but the issue remains do they think he is worthy of having, of all schools, UNILAG renamed after him.
well, u seem to get it wrong, nobody's argument as far as i have followed this issue has mentioned or questioned the worth or personality of MKO. no one has said "who the hell is MKO" or questioned his legacy. He is a legacy no doubt so is Unilag; so why replace/extinct one legacy at the expense of another? both can exist side by side if properly planned.
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 1:51pm On May 30, 2012
@papabrowne

The topic of this thread is not logical and the conclusion faulty because the rejection of the name MAU has nothing to do with the person of MKO but with name and legacy that Unilag has built for years. The last i checked, the easterners equally rejected the renaming of UNN after ojukwu, so can u also use this same topic on that instance? No! because they don't hate him either. So pls stop attaching the rejection of the name to the person of MKO.
PoliticsRe: So They Never Really Loved MKO by ifeci: 1:39pm On May 30, 2012
Do other institutions named after late nationalists sounds better?

The students are protesting cos of the ego attached to the name "UNILAG" and the fact that their certificates will henceforth bear MAU.
don't call it ego, legacy preferably.

EducationRe: Occupy UNILAG: Students Protest MAU Renaming by ifeci:
The issue of who the name of a prestigious university such as unilag is named is a matter of great sensitivity if one considers the contributions of MKO Abiola to this Nation, despite his arguable faults which are minute compared to many who enjoy higher acclaim than this man who improved the lives of many he came across, invested in this country and finally paid the ultimate prize with his life,
Please stop the riot over this matter. Has anyone got more pictures?
Akuko! ultimate price ni! because he offered himself to fight for a cause and die a matyr abi? you think say him for drink that tea if to say him know?

Does living in Lagos make you better than someone living in Abuja simply because Lagos is known around the world ? Stop trippin over this shiit and get real. With all the hype about Unilag,it has never ranked as the best school in Nigeria;still lagging behind UI,OAU,UNILORIN and UNIBEN despite the fact that these schools are located in ancient cities.
What y'all forgot is that name doesnt make schools if not covenant and other private unis would have been among the best in Nigeria. There is nothing special about unilag to me !
I was almost thinking your post was great until you said that names don't make schools. Names does! and that is why schools like havard are regarded as the best; the have built that legacy for years and you can't wake up one morning and change that. if you hv harvard on ur CV, I don't need to ask around or seek a sorcerer to know that u r an asset. unilag might not b d best but it ranks high on the list and thats a legacy that has been built for yrs even b4 I ws born(I dnt knw hw old u r)
