@shango thor, beaf, God bless u for your reasoning power. Instead of Nigerians to dialog wit govt on how to spend d subsidy money effectively, protest for massive pay cut for political office holders, strict and immediate trial of past and present corrupt govt officials, they are needlessly and ignorantly protesting against fuel subsidy which is 4our own betterment. Let me see how dis protest will last with dis kind of sectarian debacle and dehumanization. Its shameful. I pray God to comfort d families of d deceased
you are stupid and equally an eediot! what a terrible combination! How many times have Nigerians had the opportunity of dialoging with the govt that yielded results? when sanusi spoke about the incredible amount that these political holders receive, how was that addressed? immediate trial of past who and who? I laugh in swahili. I think u r not in Nigeria, may be ur in Planet Mars cos u spk like a retard.

Ask our neighbors the Ghanians. They have been able to actively recognize the impact of energy efficiency on energy utilization. More on this later.
we have asked our Ghanian neigbors and the said that they have enjoyed several years and counting of uninterupted power supply so their removal of subsidy will not affect their local production rate
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 10:47pm On Jan 01, 2012
Do you know the meaning of true federalism?
If your state governor or LG chairman was doing his job and your locality was churning out jobs and industries, would you be concerned about a N65.00 handout from Abuja?
If you think Nigeria is phucked, because we cannot manufacture a single pin and states must beg for monthly upkeep from Abuja, why would you think you as an individual needs the same sort of welfare package when you are not disabled?
So removal of fuel subsidy justifies all that you have asked?

PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 10:40pm On Jan 01, 2012
increased revenue, so aside from N65.00 per litre, what was its purpose? Before GEJ, there were long fuel lines and people bought fuel from the blackmarket at exotic prices, so why will a
structured package
like the current one cause anything to go belly up?

The greatest benefit of the subsidy removal will be that for once, we will actually begin having truthful estimates of our annual fuel consumption which is overinflated every year to include smuggling to Benin Republic, Chad, Niger, Burkinafaso and Cameroon. Why should the Nigerian govt subsidise the economies of neighbouring countries?
so the federal Gvt has provided us with a structured black Market Abi? and who says the long fuel lines won't return to the stations now. Talking about the Greatest benefit of subsidy removal according to you, Shouldn't that be a boarder security issue rather than a problem that subsidy removal should resolve?
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 10:25pm On Jan 01, 2012
sigh. . if u have 37billion barrels as reserves of a commodity. . and u take out 2.4 Million barrels a day(every day)

how many barrels do u take out in a yr?. . multiply that by 30yrs see if u have any barrels left in the ground

your second point makes no sense,u are paying for the market price of PMS. . .u are not paying for subsidy ok

Next time u go buy a bag of cement, tell them u wont pay the price u are quoted, until the Govt comes and pays half for u.
Do you understand that the oil  we are talking about is a natural resource and not some tank installed underground? secondly if the so called Gvt had good plans for the masses why didn't come up with a good fall back plan to tackle the ripple effects of subsidy removal? why didn't they revive the local refineries to at least meet local demand b4 removing subsidy? and if the say that they don't have money to build refineries, where do our politicians embezel those incredible billions from?
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 10:13pm On Jan 01, 2012
Stop advocating cowardice and start your "revolution" to remain a cheap slave for the pitiful price of N65.00 per litre. Nothing suprises one in Nigeria these days, afterall, there is boko haram fighting for the right to remain illiterates.

The rest of the country has been unchained from the mafia. Today is Nigeria's real Independence Day.
You are just a horror to NL and to Nigerians as a whole. you call the price of N65 pitiful? I am quite convinced that you have tasted out of the Loot.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 10:05pm On Jan 01, 2012
Hmm. . my piece is thinking and very much original dude. . .
ok i get it u want cheap fuel. . but whats the strategic goal behind that?

are u stimulating any productive sector in the country with that cheap fuel?
what percentage of Nigerians own cars?1%. . .5%. . why should 5% of the population be subsidized to the tune of N1.3Trillion a yr?. .Thats madness and the worst form of indolence that can only come forth from an unserious nation

How about use that 1.3trillion to build nuclear power plants that will last the next 50yrs(Ps a 1,000MW Nuclear plant costs about $4Billion dollars)

what r u going to do when our oil runs out in 30yrs and u wake up from your cheap PMS induced stupor to realize that you didn't leave anything productive for your kids to build on?. .u just had cheap fuel that u had been importing for the past 30yrs,but no infrastructure,no production. .just consumption and waste

Dude the removal of subsidy will do 2 very important things at once

All rent seekers (so called independent marketers), will get out of this game and o look elsewhere to enrich themselves,no more feeding fat on GOVT

Therefore only genuine players will be left.

Secondly PMS will adjust to its market price(for imported PMS),therefore if say a DANGOTE wants to build a refinery in Nigeria cause he believes he can sell locally refined PMS cheaper than the imported one,he can go to his bankers and they will give him a loan to do so.

Again, we need to think more of the future, its not all about now.

PS i reside in Lagos, and the cost to fillup my tank will jump from N4000, to N8000. . but perhaps i will be more careful in how i roll and make only necessary trips out

More importantly as a rational human living in a market economy,i am adjusting my consumption patterns to reflect the change in price.

Thats important for innovation to happen in any market economy.

Perhaps i will buy a used chevy volt in 2 yrs. . who knows. .bottom line the oil runs out in 30yrs or less

better start the adjustments now, cause it will be more painful later
Oga the only thing you know how to do is speak english and type in blue letters! first tell me how the oil is going to finish in 30 yrs na u put am 4 ground abi u don turn God overnight. secondly, the removal of fuel subsidy only means that the govt has removed the bulk from their side and passed it to us! so in actual sense, there's no fuel subsidy just a change in who Pays for the subsidy.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 9:50pm On Jan 01, 2012
They are committing a crime and we have every right to stop such people by whatever means. By law, the maximum price is N141.00; the deregulated fuel price has controls.
The only people we need to stop now is You advocating for Jona on NL and Jona himself from plunging us into untold hardship.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by ifeci: 9:19pm On Jan 01, 2012
There will be some pain, which is regretable. But it will turn for the better in the near future as the money saved is channelled into productive areas.
There is going to be very massive job creation in the millions this year as the FG promised the day before yesterday.
Oga u keep tlking about Money saved! How about money embezzelled? can't it be be channelled into the productive areas u spk about. this just means more loot available to Jona and his bois.

PoliticsRe: Man Threatened To Kill Self On Christmas Day. Is He Still Alive? by ifeci: 2:40pm On Dec 30, 2011
People are really turnining into cowards in Nigeria. I read through this guys reasons & it doesn't make sense. Challenges are what builds great men, check the stories of most succesful pple& u will see that at various points in their lives, they were in a terrible situation. God's ways are not the ways of man, He has his way of building us to be strong, take for example the story of the isrealites, who says that God could not have cleared away their enemies and make their transition smooth to Cannan? but he was building them to fight battles and be strong in the face of their enemies. The reason we pass through difficulties is so that we will be strong in the face of challenges&handle them with experience. We shouldn't allow situations define us rather we should define situations and determine the impact they have on us. If you think your situation is worse,go out there and hear other peoples worst stories and i bet you, you will thank God for your own Situation.

Ok guys, from our replies so far, we can deduce that the reason why we buy pirated CD's is because of proximity and cost. I am talking only about our local artists in music and home movies for now; So what if we knew where to buy these original CD's around our area and the prices are affordable, would we discipline ourselves to patronize the originals and join the fight against piracy?

The god of Abraham and Moses is the same god celebrated by the Prophet Mohamed and the false prophet Jesus.
God will punish as many Christians as Muslims.

Believe in a vengefull god.
