PoliticsRe: What We Must Not Forget About Buhari by ifeci: 9:50am On Apr 08, 2011
In spite of blurred ideological positions, I place the CPC as a far right grouping as will inevitably be manifest if it attains power at the federal or state levels. All power is vested in a shadowy, unelected Board of Trustees populated by Buhari’s inner core and it is inconceivable that anyone challenge Buhari, Hamma and Galadinma within the party
This clearly indicates the rise of dictatorship in Nigeria again!!

Christianity EtcYou'll Never Change Your Life Until You Change Your Choices. by ifeci(op): 2:55pm On Feb 08, 2011
If you want something in your life to change, then you'll have to change your choices and actions. That is because doing the same thing will never get you different results.

In other words, what you do -- the choices you make, the way you treat people, the attitudes you have -- all impact your life. If, by your actions, you're sowing bad seeds, then you'll reap a harvest of those things. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says, Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Therefore, if you want to reap abundant harvests in your life, start sowing abundant seeds. That may require changing your choices; but until you change your choices, you'll never change your life.

Just a word of Advice.

PhonesRe: The Cheapest Network To Call Now Is Etisalat by ifeci: 3:46pm On Jan 24, 2011
The calculation for the cheapest network today in Nigeria goes like this
Based on #100 air time
Etisalat = 100-20 = 80.
80/15 = 5.3 min on all Ntwk

Airtel 100-36 = 64 +1min
64/12 = 6.3min on all Ntwk

MTN 100-30 = 70+ 1min
70/15 = 5.6mins on MTN Ntwk alone

GLO 100/15 = 6.7mins on All Ntwrk

Based on this, Glo is the best and closely follwed by AIrtel, then Etisalat

dis calculation is wrong on d part of mtn cos wen they charge u 50kobo per second on the 1st call, it changes to 20kobo from the second minute making it N12  a minute after the N30 for the first minute so if u re-calculate u will be using 70/12 +1min= 6.8mins on a N100 basis which is about the best figure from all the above calculation. so 4now mtn.
PoliticsPolice Recover Bombs In Enugu by ifeci(op): 8:38am On Jan 18, 2011
ENUGU—THE police in Enugu, yesterday, recovered bombs planted along Udi-Ozalla old road, a few kilometres away from the Enugu State capital.

The discovery followed a tip off by Arab Contractor construction workers on duty in the area who in the early hours of yesterday, discovered some strange metallic objects in the culvert and immediately alerted the State Commissioner of Police, Danazumi Job Doma.

Doma swiftly deployed men of the anti_bomb squad unit to the area and on arrival at the scene discovered a locally made improvised explosive device, comprising dynamites connected with a long battery, placed at the culvert.

The bomb experts moved into action immediately and recovered the explosive device from the area.
Doma who briefed reporters on the breakthrough last night, said that his men first of all neutralised the effect of the explosive before evacuating it from the culvert.

He said that on further analysis, it was discovered that the locally made bomb has catastrophic and damaging effect of 15 metres radius.

The police boss explained that the locally made explosive device comprising dynamites used in blowing rocks, was awaiting a target before it was discovered.

He urged members of the public to report such discoveries to police for appropriate action, saying that the command was prepared to safeguard life and property especially during the period of elections.

PoliticsAbacha's Son Picks Kano Cpc Gubernatorial Ticket by ifeci(op): 10:02am On Jan 17, 2011
Racing to beat the deadline given to political parties by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the national headquarters of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) yesterday made last minute effort to settle the controversy rocking the party’s gubernatorial primaries in Kano State with a voting exercise, which saw Mohammed Abacha, son of late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, leading with 144, 066 votes.

According to Professor Mohammed Dahiru Suleiman, the chairman of the Committee charged with the conduct of the gubernatorial primary, Abacha scored 144,066, to defeat other three contestants.

Briefing journalists on the outcome of the party `s gubernatorial primary, in Kano, he said Ja`faru Isa, former military administrator of Kaduna State, came second with 78,671 votes.

He also disclosed that, Sani Hanga, immediate past national chairman of the party, secured 45,618 votes, Auwalu Anwar, got 30,410, while, Magaji Abdullahi, former deputy-governor polled 5,795.

Suleiman explained that the results were those received from 21 out the 44 Local Government Areas, in the state, which show that Mohammed Abacha, led in the contest.

He however disclosed that, the result of the 23 local government areas, were not reflected in the released result, as it was characterised by some irregularities.

PoliticsAtiku's Camp To Give N7 Million Per Delegate Tomorrow. by ifeci(op): 5:09pm On Jan 12, 2011
Delegates heading for Abuja for the PDP presidential primary are set to be instant millionaires considering how much both camps have set aside as ‘transport allowance’ per delegate.

Pointblanknews.com sources hinted that the camp of Abubakar Atiku have set aside N7 million per delegate, but the rate budgeted by the President Goodluck Jonathan’s camp could not be confirmed at press time. But sources said it would not be less than a million each. Considering the fact that no less than 80 delegates would be in Abuja from each state, the budget is considered huge. The allowance is outside hotel accommodation and food.

Fresh facts have also emerged as to how Vice President Namadi Sambo, who is most likely to succeed Jonathan by 2015, ensured Jonathan made inroads into a large slice of the north.

Meanwhile, the move by Atiku to woo all the 50 senators who lost out at their primaries was thwarted last night by Jonathan as he hosted the ‘losers’ in Abuja.

Pointblanknews.com learnt that the President told them that in a democracy there would always be winners and losers, and stressed the need for cohesion. Most of the senators have already pledged loyalty to the President who have assured them of sundry roles in the next dispensation. Already Senator Grace Folashade Bent from Adamawa, and Senator Lee Maeba, both lost out, have said their support for Jonathan is unshaken.

Pointblanknews.com sources hinted that Sambo used the minority card to woo a large section of the north mostly in the north central. The Vice President has been able to have in his firm grip Kaduna, Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Nasarrawa, Kwara and Niger.

According to our source” Sambo queried why those clamouring for a northern President had never considered picking a northern minority, except core north candidates.”

“ Most of those senators were with the President last night. He hosted them and assured them they would relevant in the next dispensation. Atiku’s camp tried to grab these people, telling them they were betrayed by Nwodo (National chairman), and the President. But the Jonathan’s camp quickly moved in. Of course nothing is sure but Jonathan has placated them”

Sharing looted money, no b their fault.

An Enugu High Court has sacked Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Okwesileze Nwodo on an alleged ground that his emergence as the party chairman was illegal.

The Enugu Court ruling is coming barely 24 hours before the party’s presidential Primaries where Nwodo, a staunch supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to play a major role.

Aggrieved members of the PDP allegedly sponsored by Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu state had dragged the PDP chairman to court.

PoliticsGays Pledge Support For Atiku by ifeci(op): 9:44am On Jan 12, 2011
Barely 24 hours to the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Primary election, gays, under the umbrella of National Gay Forum, have expressed support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The group urged Nigerians to support Atiku’s aspiration to rule the country, stressing that he possessed the acumen to turn the fortunes of the country around for the better.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday at the Agura Hotel in Abuja, spokesmen of the group, Victor Labelle and Freedom Awuke, said that in view of the meaningful contributions of the former vice president to national development, it had become imperative for PDP delegates to cast their votes for him at the party primary election on Thursday (tomorrow) as well as in the April elections.

Labelle said the gay group was exercising its fundamental human right of freedom of association as obtainable in the United States, France and other European nations where gays usually express their political affiliations.

Christianity EtcChurch Gate Fee: Pastors Condemn Oyakhilome by ifeci(op): 10:42am On Jan 10, 2011
Prominent pastors in the country and readers of P.M.NEWS have slammed Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his Christ Embassy Church for imposing a N1,000 toll fee on worshippers who attended New Year’s Eve service at the Christ Embassy Headquarters in Lagos, South-West Nigeria.
P.M.NEWS had reported in its 5 January 2011 edition how Christ Embassy pastors sold tickets valued at N1,000 each to worshippers who wanted to attend the crossover service in their church.
Indigent worshippers who could not afford the money were denied access and sent back by security men at the gate. The church explained that it collected gate fees from worshippers to control the huge crowd that always besieges Christ Embassy on New Year’s Eve service.
This development has outraged many Nigerians, including prominent pastors, at home and abroad.
The pastors who spoke with P.M.NEWS yesterday and readers, who reacted on www.pmnewsnigeria.com, described the imposition of toll fee by Christ Embassy as a sacrilege.
The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Ola Makinde, described Oyakhilome’s action as anathema and abuse of Christianity.
“It is a sacrilege and commercialisation of religion. It is an abuse of Christianity,” he lamented.
Founder, Soul Winning Chapel, Rev. Moses Illoh, said that such an act “is sacrilegious,” adding that the gospel of Christ is supposed to be free and not to be paid for.
“There is no excuse for this. The church of God is for everybody, both for the poor and the rich. The church where they collect money before you can go in to worship is not a church.”
According to Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, such pastors who collect money from worshippers should be stoned to death or be crucified.
“Is this possible? Such church should be destroyed and such pastors should be stoned to death. Pay N1,000 to enter a church? Is the church in heaven? It is never done.
“If it is possible, let the government intervene. These pastors are for Satan and such pastors should be crucified. It is embarrassing,” he lamented.
lso reacting to the incident, General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Prophet Samuel Kayode Abiara, said collection of money as gate fee for church service is unbiblical.
“Collecting money as gate fee before a church service is unbiblical because there is nowhere in the Bible where it was recorded that Jesus collected money from the multitude who listened to His sermon and benefited from His miracles.
“Salvation is free. You receive it free and you give it free,” he said.
Abiara added that he cannot judge Pastor Oyakhilome because he doesn’t understand the circumstances under which money was collected.
“It’s not impossible that they must have used the event to raise money,” he said.
To Rev. Oladapo Daramola, Media and Public Relations Officer, Methodist Church Nigeria, it is not right to collect money from worshippers before allowing them inside the church.
“This is not right because despite the number of people that came to worship at the feet of Jesus Christ, there was no barrier for them to come closer. Anything that will bar people from receiving the good news should not be allowed. It is not Christ-like,” he stated.
Also, Rev. Akintoye Braimoh, Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Christian Religious Matters, frowned at Oyakhilome’s act, saying it was very wrong.
“A place of worship is a place for all, even for a Muslim. PFN has already rejected Oyakhilome and he is not recognised by the body; he is on his own,” she added.
Dr. Sam Ogedengbe, Special Assistant to the Governor on Christian Religious Matters also stated that it was not right for any pastor to act that way.
“Why should you collect money before one can be allowed to enter a church? Is the place really a church? It is wrong to do that,” he said.
Some readers who reacted on our website, www.pmnewsnigeria.com, condemned Oyakhilome’s act, saying that it unscriptural.
Mike said: “Church has become big business in Nigeria. Now, they have introduced gate fee to church, very soon, they will introduce gate fee to heaven before someone dies. May God have mercy on them.”
According to Kayode, “the church should have thought of a bigger venue for this service. The National Stadium for instance would have accommodated a lot of people. The church should know that a special service like this will attract a lot of people, sinners and the saved, the rich and the poor, the genuine and the fake, but give an opportunity for all to meet with Christ. It was a rash strategy to control the crowd.”
Gloria said: “This news should have been best tagged ‘Pastor Oyakhilome deprives the poor of the gospel’. He’s unbelievable. Jesus Christ welcomed the crowd even when the apostles wanted to stop them. He went as far as feeding them with five loaves of bread and two fishes. We should learn from the bible, this is not crowd control, but daylight robbery.”
According to Jedidiah, “when the church becomes over crowded and the senior pastors don’t have a seat for themselves on such occasions, it becomes a good problem and for this reason, the church should pray to God to provide a bigger church for them. Such services are not for the so-called ‘true members’ to be comfortable but for the unsaved to be shown love, thereby winning them over to the winning church.”
Olo said: “it still beats my imagination to hear that such a thing actually happened in Christ Embassy, and at the headquarters for that matter. What’s money turning man of God into?”
Temmy reacted this way: “slowpoke, idiots and stupid people will always continue to follow a stupid pastor. When Jesus referred to his people (including me) as sheep, He did not mean idiot sheep like most Nigerians who are following those money worshipping and 419 pastors of nowadays.”
Thousands of readers, who reacted in various websites and blogs, including social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, also expressed shock and disappointment.

PoliticsEx INEC Boss, Iwu's Daughter In NYSC Certificate Scandal by ifeci(op): 10:20am On Jan 07, 2011
Daughter of the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Maurice Iwu, Mrs Ijeoma Nwafor, has been accused of forging her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) discharge certificate and tax clearance.

Mrs. Nwafor is an aspirant for the seat of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency in Imo State, under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

One of the petitions signed by one Francis Okoro alleged that Mrs. Nwafor, in her publicized profile and biography, showed that she was working on a full time basis in the United States of America (USA) the same period she claimed that she did her national youth service in Lagos State, Nigeria.

He further alleged that Mrs. Nwafor claimed to have served as a professor of Psychology at Harford Community College, Maryland, between 2004–2007 and an adjunct professor at Towson University her alma mater between 2003–2007, which also fall within the period she claimed to have served in Lagos.

While Okoro claimed that Mrs. Nwafor forged her NYSC certificate following the contradiction in her profile, another petitioner, who gave his name as Mr. Felix Nwaneri, alleged in his petition, also addressed to PDP screening committee, accused Nwafor of fraudulently acquiring tax clearance certificate.

‘Withdraw now or be disgraced’
…Identify Oyo, Enugu, Benue, Kano, Katsina, Akwa Ibom as hot spots
By Akinsola Omidire

Witches and wizards in the country have advised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from presidential race or risk being humiliated at the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) primaries. The National Co-ordinator, Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN), Dr Okhue Iboi, told Daily Sun in Lagos that Atiku would be disgraced during the PDP national congress.

“Atiku should withdraw now if he loves himself. He would be humbled by President Goodluck Jonathan. If he withdraws now, it will be a saving grace for him, but if he insists on going ahead with the primaries, that will be the end of his political career.
“During our emergency meeting to deliberate on the state of affairs in Nigeria, it was clearly revealed to us that the days of Atiku’s relevance in Nigeria’s politics are over.

He is just wasting his money, energy and resources. His campaign is in vain. His fate is already sealed. He is going nowhere. The era of his relevance in Nigerian politics is over. He should forget the idea of becoming Nigeria’s number one citizen, either now or in the future.

“About six months ago, long before General Ibrahim Babangida decided to enter the race for PDP’s presidential ticket, witches and wizards told him that he was wasting his time. We told him in clear terms that he would never secure PDP ticket, and that he would drop by the wayside. This was reported by some national dailies. What eventually happened to IBB? He was humiliated. He who has ears, let him hear very well, witches and wizards do not double-speak. We are messengers from the spiritual world, and anybody that disobeys us, is doing so at his own risk.

“When we warned Babangida to stay away, that he was going nowhere, some of his agents told us that we are fake witches. That Babangida has other witches praying for him to win PDP’s ticket. From what happened to Babangida later, we now know who are genuine and fake witches.
“Witches and wizards are also stakeholders in the project called Nigeria. This is why we held this emergency meeting to look at the state of our nation, Jonathan will win. All other candidates will be defeated. But Jonathan should be very careful. He should also look for ways to address the present state of insecurity.

“Jonathan’s victory is assured and sealed in the spiritual world, but he will face many challenges. He should not be afraid. He will conquer his opponents. Witches and wizards are praying for this nation. We wish Nigeria well, but what has been revealed to us in the spiritual world is alarming. As Chief Tony Anenih said recently, there is no vacancy in Aso Rock, Jonathan will win, but there will be bloodshed in some states.

“Oyo State will be on fire. Governor Adabayo Alao-Akala will face serious challenges. The state will be too hot for him. If Akala is not careful, the situation in Oyo State will be so volatile that he might run away. Enugu, Benue, Kano, Katsina, Akwa Ibom states will also be hot. There will be an increase in political assassinations. Nigerians need to pray fervently to avert bloodshed that will rock this nation to its foundation.

“The way some people look at witches and wizards is as if we are evil-minded people. Not all witches are bad. Our own type of witchcraft which we practise is a progressive one. The day government and other stakeholders invite us to intervene in the affairs of Nigeria, we will gladly do so. We have the antidote to bring lasting peace to this nation. Nigeria is a great country, witches and wizards can help restore its lost glory.

“We saw June 12 crisis long before it happened, and we warned the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola, but he ignored us. Abiola would have been Nigeria’s president, but some of us decided to punish him over the role he played in scuttling the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s presidential ambition. We warned him in the same national dailies not to waste his time and life, he ignored us, look at what happened to him. Witches and wizards also dealt with Sani Abacha for ordering the execution of Ken Saro-Wiwa.
“We sealed Obasanjo’s fate in our coven.

We not only sent emissaries to him at Ota not to toy with the idea, we also warned him that the plot would fail if he failed to heed our advice. Many newspapers carried our message, warning him, he ignored, but everybody knew what happened later.”
