managingpartner:That was your girlfriend...this is someone he has never even met, just chatted with on bbm. The way scammers work, he may even have been chatting with a team, several different people, who were grooming him and building trust to the point where he would be willing to respond to a request for money. Wake up and smell the coffee. ..or wake up after the money is gone and you can't reach them on bbm anymore... |
Nayok:You can if you want to...but you know what will happen....bye bye money... |
Of course it's a scam. You'll pay money and either some or all of the following will happen: never hear from the person again; never receive anything; receive more requests for money because the parcel is being held back.by customs, etc etc. |

seunny4lif:If you know people there, perhaps you could ask them to see if they can find out anything about the op's brother. @OP, there was a commentator, mario147, on the thread that prompted you to start this who also had been in Libya and knew people there. Perhaps you could try reaching him and ask if he could ask his contacts to search for information. All the best |
In case it helps, you could try contacting the International Office for Migration: International Organization for Migration (IOM) No. 11 Haile-Selassie Street Asokoro District, Abuja Nigeria Tel: +234 81 40 67 11 27 Fax: +234 80 72 09 31 33 Email: iomnigeria@iom.int Website: nigeria.iom.int Lagos Sub-Office No 5D, Reverend Ogunbiyi Street Off Oba Akinjobi Way GRA Ikeja - Lagos Tel: +234 (0) 80 72 19 11 12 +234 (0) 80 22 26 40 59 +234 (0) 90 92 15 60 79 Email: iomlagosops@iom.int Yola Sub-Office 7 Deacon Street Karewa GRA Extension Jimeta - Yola, Adamawa State Tel: +234 (0) 90 34 03 88 54 +234 (0) 90 38 85 25 20 Email: fsantana@iom.int |

No you don't. You can use some other form of ID |
Well, start by modifying your initial post to remove your intended arrival date. Lagos is not the sort of place where you broadcast your arrival, especially if you're a JJC. Hang around, people who live there will soon stop by to advice you. Just don't accept any offers to contact people offline and start making plans with them. There are hotel booking sites that you can use to check for hotels (hotels.ng, I think). There's a reviewnaija.com.site that could help you check out restaurants and things to do. And yes you should keep your wits about you always, not just in the airport. |
Bigfido, these visa threads are followed quite openly by consular officers. Wrong activities should not be condoned; just makes it more difficult for the next honest person. |
If you can't find it on the web, you may have to go to the airport to ask, unfortunately. |

klbakare:Sounds like you really need to have a good, long think about the entire thing. You already have a high school diploma; you don't need to take the GED. Have you contacted them to find out if your university transcript will be accepted? You should also try to find out if that sort of program will be acceptable at the embassy as a basis for a visa. That US visa thread might be helpful in that regard. |
klbakare:A GED is a high school diploma, like your SSCE, etc. It's designed for adults who left high school without a diploma. If you already have a university education, you can't do that. You can try asking here for more help: https://www.nairaland.com/2310954/general-u.s.a-student-visa-enquiries-part/46 |
