Dear people, my fiance just broke the news to me that he is relocating to NG. I do not mind really, because right now that is the best option in regards to getting a very good job and fulfilling his dreams, but I will be left in jand without him and I do not trust most naija girls, cos even if yu dont wanna do, I have been told they have their ways, please am i just over reacting? Good advices are welcome! |
This is one thing that I have noticed amongst Nigerian men, especially the yoruba men. They want their fiancee to be at least 2 months pregnant before they fix a wedding date. Why is this a common practice, anyone care to shed some light? |

thanks everyone, yur advices have been useful, but it seems like their wud b no weddin any time soon, my fiancee just lost his job |
everyone, thanks for your advice and comments. Regarding the MSc, firstly at this point in time I cannot afford it, (it costs GBP20k) to do. Secondly my sister has someone she wants to marry, its just as usual the person is still looking to make more money. Gift4all:I'm not interested in marriage because of my friend, its just that ive found the man i wanna spend the rest of my life with, and there is no way we can live together, therefore what are we waiting around for I don't really beliv in long courtship, cos that can breed sins, n we have bin together 3 yrs now, |
cescky:Do u mean inexperience, if thats what you mean, is everyone thats never married before not inexperienced? And too young? some of my friends are 21, 22 and they are married (although 2 got pregnant, so they had to get married ) |
johnjoel:The last time I checked my birth certificate it says I am 23 ![]() |
ifyalways:I am 23 oo, i s'pose thats too young, but in the long run honestly it saves money to be married in this country, cos we are paying 2 rents, n 2 seperate bills, |
Blueice4re:Mummy wouldn't even hear of it, she shys away from the question everytime i bring it up! |
ifyalways:They want me to get a MSc before getting married, and also want me to wait for my sister who is 5yrs older to get married before i get married, ![]() |
Me n my boyfriend have been discussing about getting married for a while now, his parents are ready and I think he is ready too, (but my paresnts are definitely not) and each time we talk about gettin married, he tells me he has never done it before, so if i can use style to ask my father about bride price he would appreciate it, in Nigeria culture, am i allowed to ask? |
