When I say Asia is not like the EU with a common goal, I was trying to tell you not to count the rest of the continent when expressing Chinese influence in terms of numbers cause the desire to be the word leader is strictly a Chinese affair not a common goal shared by the continent. It was not disputing the unity of Asia's unity even though we both know it is not comparable to that of Europe. Countries in Europe are created according to culturally heritage (the same cultural heritage that makes China a huge country). It doesn't in any way signify lack of unity.

You did not address the core of my argument. You went off comparing unity as if that's the bone of contention. The point here is that China as a country is a very closed system and that makes the rest of the world wary of them including those from the same continent. This has a negative impact on thier influence and will forever stand between them and their dream of becoming the world leader. It is not just a game of numbers.

Lack of freedom has nothing to do nourishment or travelling restrictions. Freedom is about choices. Choosing your preferred religion, watching your preferred kind of movie, using your preferred websites, choosing your preferred leaders, freedom of speech/civil liberties, independent journalism, etc.

The word leader is a model, a point of reference for others (see Kemi Olunoyo's response to Falana). And the absence of this freedom is not something the world is ready to adopt as a model at this phase of human civilization.
