First Dragnet test. Wasn't impressed in the least. Whoever typed out the questions must have done so blindfolded. How curious that questions meant to test an applicant's knowledge of English syntax, diction and grammar were riddled by typos. Ernst & Young should collect change from Dragnet. |

ForteNL: Oh...Gotchya. But the bond issue was discussed with us before we toook the test/interview though Really? Prior to the offer mail, I was in the dark about it. But I think it's only logical, seeing as they are about to invest some good money in the trainees. What's the monthly take-home pay? Any idea? |

blueheffner: Monday 22nd, it was originally slated for 25th but I rescheduled and from the looks of things the AC is mixed for both Finance and Manufacturing trainees and it will hold from Monday 22nd - 25th . This is what I figured from the information gathered. Might be wrong though. We shall all make it by Gods grace . Boss man, how did it go today? |

I went through your posts and noticed you carefully did not disclose the school or the program you'll be attending. I hope my openness changes that orientation .
Nice day Oh. Well, come to think of it, I haven't had the need to. But it's no biggie, really. I'd be attending Tennessee Tech, since Michigan Tech aren't forthcoming with their funding. Program is Electrical & Computer Engineering And, oh, congratulations on your award. |

Now I already have my visa with MTSU with little amount for scholarship. I'll like to know if it's possible to transfer to M. Tech without doing any semester at Middle Tennessee State Hi. Just an inquiry, and not an answer to your question: what department did you apply to? I have an admit from Michigan Tech, but it is unfunded. |

I suggest you pre arrange those so you don't waste time. Yes, most likely. From the advice I've picked up here and off here, I'll schedule the interview for the last week in July. By God's grace, I'd have paid off the requisite fees by then. I appreciate your response. |

(I've heard from some quarters that your odds of getting a visa is better when an assistantship is listed as your funding source as opposed to family funds.)

slimmy05: Go ahead with your interview. I don't see you having issues with your visa as you sound smart. Book your interview for 3rd week of July, if they eventually award you the assistantship your professor can send you a scanned type written document to that effect you can take to the embassy. I did same and didn't have any problem, it worked better for me knowing I was going to work with a professor who is also my Graduaye Cordinator. Thanks for coming through, man. Was going to cc you in my earlier post, but wasn't sure of your handle. Would start the process. Bless you. |

bbdd: What are your chances of actually getting the assistantship. If you've not been assured then don't waste your time. The department gets their yearly budget first week in July and makes assistantship decisions in the following week. My professor of interest is the chair of graduate admissions and is interested in having me work with him. He gave me the assurance that I will secure it. Like I mentioned earlier, the decision would be made in the second week of July. Are you advising that I wait till then, so I can order a fresh Form I20, before booking a visa interview? |

Hello house, You guys on this thread are unsung heroes of foreign admissions. This thread is the Nigeria the media won't show you. I need your counsel. I have an admission into a postgraduate program in a US school for Fall. I just got my Form I-20. The source of funding stated therein is "Family Funds." Now, I've been recommended for a teaching assistantship by a professor (I've been in touch with) in the school & learned decisions would be made in the 2nd week of July. It's somewhat assured. Do I go on ahead and schedule a visa interview using the expected Form I-20 with "Family Funds" as means, or do I wait to be awarded the assistantship, then order a new Form I-20 that would reflect the teaching assistantship? (I've heard from some quarters that your odds of getting a visa is better when an assistantship is listed as your funding source as opposed to family funds.) Please help out. Thanks. |

dannyabba: You should have received a mail with the new login details. To confirm this, go to the scholarship and check if it says "You have successfully (or already) applied for this scholarship". If you see this, then go to your "Overview" page to download the profile form.
If, on the other hand, you see "Apply Now" on the scholarship page, then be patient until Scholastica contacts you with the new login details. After this, you'll have access to your profile form as above. Bless you. Done it. |
