Peter Obi does not fully understand the political dynamics in the North. The core northern states will not vote for a joint ticket with Kwankwaso, as they view Kwankwaso as a spoiler. Just observe carefully, how many states does Kwankwaso actually command followers in, aside from Kano and parts of Jigawa? How many politicians have defected from other parties to the NDC from the North since he left the ADC? The NDC has no grassroots presence in the North.

Atiku will also face challenges, as he may not achieve the required spread in the South. So, in my opinion, the odds favor Tinubu. Although he is not widely popular, his party has the necessary geographical spread.

Why are you linking a candidates ability to play dirty politics with governance? That’s our problem. We worship corrupt politicians and then blame the decent ones who have ideas to move Nigeria forward. That is how some of you were saying, “na statistics we go chop”. The Tinubu that knows how to play politics, has he improved your life. If you are honest, you and I know you don’t have money to cover 4 months of your expenses. Just like many Nigerians. We should not even mention healthcare. Please let’s focus more on development.

Oga, this time no one is interested in going to court. In fact, noone cares about the judiciary and no eye would be on them. So as you campaign, make sure that the votes Nigerians cast for you this time is well-protected. I would have thought that you and the so-called opposition would have focused and be fixated on thorough electoral reform that includes total electronic transmission since 2023. As things stands at the moment, your only path to victory is ensuring that the rigging of 2023 doesn't reoccur - no shutting down of IREV to manipulate figures and no suppression of your votes in places like the north, Lagos and Rivers.

Whatever you're doing sir, I want you to know that Nigerians are ready to vote for you, so incorporate into any campaigns the modality with which those votes are protected and modalities to ensure that we don't finally get COOKed up figures from INEC. Unless you do this, most Nigerians would not be interested in future elections.

I think this is the time to start canvassing for an internationally supervised election and not just leave everything with INEC. I also think that you should be sure that NDC has sufficient agents and a backup plan to ensure the integrity of the vote-counting process. In 2023, we learnt that you had no agents in 10,000+ polling units. I'm sure those were the ground zero of the 2023 rigging. This time, dot all Is and cross all Ts and we Nigerians will be happy with you.

Datti said you guys had more than 10 million votes in 2023. The truth is that Nigerians may never know the true result of the 2023 election. But we are hoping that 2027 would be radically different. Prove to us that it can be done.

He said it that if there is a non incentivized primary that he would support the winner. Nevertheless, he has maintained that power MUST remain in the south for the next 4 years. Something Atiku isn't willing to adhere with.

Here we go again with the self-righteous politics. "If he loses, Nigeria loses indeed." He is beginning to earn a reputation as someone who cannot keep his own word. No matter how you try to sell his candidacy as sainthood, he has now left two political parties at the brink after pledging loyalty, all just to run from primaries. That alone shows desperation but go on.

That's a misconception. Obi has always stated that his anti-corruption, anti-established-pattern stance, knowing how corrupt Nigeria's electoral system is. The corruption in which folks like Tinubu and Atiku thrive on. So you want him to sit tight in LP while the government engender crisis within or sit tight with ADC which Atiku would likely buy over with dollar? Nah... I rather think Obi is learning the hard way that dismantling the network of corruption that has held the country at stangleholds for decades would take a more daring approach. The question is: would he go all the way knowing that those benefiting from the status quo won't back him? Would the masses go all the way with him? I am sure of the latter but the former? Not sure.

In any case, I think the people would rather go with him than any other politician alive today. Will the establishment stop him the way they stopped Aminu Kano, the only other politician I know that the masses truly rooted for? Perhaps.

Well... the guy says he isn't desperate to be president. If he loses, Nigeria loses, not just him. That's obvious to all discerning mind. At least we know that neither Tinubu nor Atiku has what it takes to lift the country out of doldrum.

Nevertheless, I think Obi is rather casual about this presidency thing. I thought he and the Obidient movement would have started working on 1) Electoral reform by exerting the right pressure from 2023.
2) Working on grassroot mobilization to ensure that party agents would be on ground no matter the party he contests on their ticket/

I sincerly hope they somehow have that on ground because many Nigerians wouldn't want to vote him and have their votes swapped for Tinubu or Atiku like they did in 2023.

If Nigeria was three regions [at independence] why does it have 36 states now not equally distributed to the three regions?

We have no problems with a Southeasterner becoming president but power is not demanded for. You either play the politics like the two other regions are doing to get it or you step aside.

Those two regions are not playing politics the one region can play because the two regions' interest is at tangents to the one region's interest.

Buhari was accused of nepotism in favour of the North, not tribalism. Buhari’s appointments cut across from Borno to Niger and from Kogi to Adamawa. In return, the entire North voted for him again in his second term. Can other non-Yoruba speaking tribes in the South say the same about Tinubu? Will he now win more states in the other South aside from his Yoruba states?

You don't get it: nepotism is nepotism whether Buhari was appointing his Muslim friends in the north or Tinubu appointing his Yoruba croonies in the SW. The fact is that Nigeria was three regions at Independence. Tinubu, a Yoruba man is nepotistically aligned to the SW, while Buhari is nepotistically aligned to the north. At independence, there were the north, the southwest and the eastern regions. And bigoted leaders like Buhari and Tinubu would naturally alienate others they feel are not theirs. That's why the PDP era was Nigeria's golden democratic era when at least, there were no bigots piloting the affairs of the country.

By the way, wasn't Atiku you're now parroting among those that brought in Buhari, and consequently, Tinubu, the two ethnic bigots who have brought the country this low? Why would any sane person support Atiku? He simply has a poor sense of judgment just like you and Kperogi, and any other person blinded by ethnic and religious considerations in choosing a leader.

Nigeria is going down the drain because there are more people like you chaps than there are people with balanced sense of reasoning in the country.

Lol. Kogi and Kwara are now Yoruba states? No wonder Tinubu has channelled every appointment meant for the Northcentral to Yorubas in those states. Yet he wonders why he's been accused of tribalism. Even the other regions of the South are marginalised, hence why Tinubu's quest to build a "Southern conscensus" is failing. There's no "middlebelt" as a geographic region. There's only Northcentral. In 2023, the Northern Christians who mostly identify as middlebelt voted Obi. No matter how you turn facts on it's head, Tinubu lost Lagos and Osun and never won Rivers. The North made him President.

Only a southerner who lacks sense of judgment would vote Atiku. For starters, he's not better than Tinubu. So the only sensible thing you have written is "If you guys won't back Obi by prevailing on Atiku to stand down, Tinubu should continue". Period.

And what do you mean that Tinubu Never Won Rivers? I thought you guys said Atiku came second and Tinubu , first? So you now agree that Obi won Rivers even though you guys actively rigged for Tinubu in the north? The truth will continue coming out and one day we all would admit who actually won the 2023 election as Nigerians already know.
