I have a very similar case. It is a Redmi Note 8. I was using it and the phone froze. I held the power button down in order to restart it and the phone wouldn't come on or charge anymore. I took it to a technician here in my town and after two days he said the phone was gone and I will need a motherboard replacement.
What to do?

Location? Hope they didn't tamper with the motherboard?
If so send it down, it will be solved

Please can you help me I have quite a similar issue but mine has been made complex by a crazy technician.
I have a Redmi note 9 which started going on and off, then gradually it degenerated to going off when answering calls, playing music and watching videos.
The phone became unbearable to use due to it's constant switching off.
The Redmi note 9 all of a sudden could not move past the booting logo, it just stays like that.
I took it to Xiaomi customer support in warri opposite Robinson plaza , they said the panel was bad. The person who went with me recommended his repairer that he is sure the repairer could fix it. He never told me the guy was only good with iPhones.
This repairer handled my Redmi note 9, now booting logo does not display.
The phone when the power button is pressed brings up a faint white light, then everything goes off.
Please can you bring my Redmi note 9 back

Well I sent the phone to @igemburg in Lagos, he promised to check it out and I gave him time seeing he already fixed someone's phone with identical issues on this thread, Well to cut the long story short, man fixed it.. As in, he brought the phone back to life.. The other guy with similar issues was so sure he will fix the phone that's how good @igemburg is. I gave up on the phone and sent it to Lagos just on trials and here we are. I am greatful to my boss @igemburg for doing what he's good at, my boss Moses who has similar issues with his phone and gave me the assurance that Igemburg will fix it, To Gptech for responding and making me to have hope on the phone, to genius for always here helping and to whoever recommended Igemburg, I can't remember your handle again I say thank you and God bless you all. Samsung don't do this, this seems to be a Chinese thing. Someone created a thread some few months back on how he bought a watered down Oppo phone thinking he was getting something much better. The funny thing is that they went as far as reviewing the real thing but sent something else down here, this is almost same tactics with the Redmi note 12. In fact the whole naming confusion of the note 12 series is deliberate.

Samsung na no 1 in the doing from day 1, in they will sell phone with Snapdragon variant to the UK and US and send exynos here. Go and check UK used Samsung and the exynos here, aswear if you sabi check phone, you will see quality difference.

Wetin dey pain me pass be say, the exynos here is more expensive.
This phone manufacturers understand our tech market and they will always give us what we want and we go dey chop am like that

My Redmi note 10 suddenly stopped charging sometime in December last year. It would only charge if I apply pressure to the part where the charging clip is.
I took it to slot at ado Ekiti, since I was at Ekiti. I bought the phone from slot Abuja.
It was retrieved for repairs but since then it's been one story or the other.
I had to eventually involve some law enforcement agents and the 30k I sent to them and the phone was eventually retrieved today still unrepaired
I asked what was diagnosed and I was told I need to replace the downboard,battery and flex.
Please I need help on where I can fix this and the possible cost.

That's to say
- All waybill costs (to and flo)
- Cost of motherboard
- Cost of the replacement battery (if it can't be returned)
Should be calculated and shared equally between both parties. This means the buyer should be reimbursed his purchase amount minus half of those miscellaneous if he'll accept it.
This is the best solution i can think of really.

The Google pixel 2 received
I checked it and I realized that the motherboard have been worked on.
What he told me was that the engineer put the new battery I sent and same thing happened, and that afterwards the phone didn't come up again.

Now there are evidence of serious heating of the motherboard, the metal foil covering the sensitive part of the motherboard have been peeled off. Pics is attached below,

So the initial issue he told me was that the phone will go off at 30% thereabout and later it will come on and off, which we thought after putting a new battery I sent will solve it but he said it's the same.

So I was expecting to get a phone coming on and off, which am sure is a software glitch, and fix it, am not expecting to get a worked on damaged motherboard.

His engineer who is not experienced enough in order to protect his own work, framed it as a very bad phone and you came to me with that mindset.

Please peeps what else should I do

Someone called me out to be a scammer, without hearing my part of the story, you jumped into conclusion.
If you have forgotten what wrote that day, it's attached below.

Afterwards as I told my part of the story, and everything came out clear to everyone you couldn't even respond all through the thread again.
