Operatives of the Lagos State Task Force at the weekend arrested 210 hoodlums and impounded 125 motorcycles around Iludun Town, New Oko-Oba area of Agege, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The enforcement operation which was carried out based on complaints by different communities around the area also demolished 98 illegal shanties built on drainage alignment and road set-backs.

Chairman of the agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who led the enforcement team disclosed that the 210 arrested hoodlums were those recently dislodged by the agency along railway behind Abattoir at Agege.

Egbeyemi disclosed further that the hoodlums terrorised these communities both day and night by robbing them of their valuables such as phones, wallets and jewelries.

“It was an eyesore as these dislodged miscreants and street urchins were freely smoking and selling Indian hemp around residential premises where you have underage school girls and boys,” he said.

The Chairman stressed that 98 demolished illegal shanties and containarised shops within abattoir and adjourning streets aside being on the landscape and harbouring criminals, were contributing to the under-growth of health, environment and safety issues in and around Agege area.

He confirmed that over 125 motorcycles plying restricted routes around the communities were impounded by the agency during the enforcement operations.

The Chairman also confirmed that 210 arrested miscreants and street urchins were immediately charged to court on the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi.

Imohimi directed further that Egbeyemi must continue to monitor the communities against any likely re-union of other notorious miscreants and street urchins who escaped during the enforcement operations.

Egbeyemi, who implored community leaders to be watchful of their immediate environment hinted that areas where the dislodged miscreants and street urchins carried out their nefarious activities and erected illegal shanties included Pipeline-way, Agric Road, Olaofe Road and Mofoladayo Drives.

The owner of Golden Boy Entertainment, Patrick Anyaene, has alleged that singer David Adeleke, aka Davido, has treated him unfairly following the signing of his former artiste, Peruzzi, to Davido Music Worldwide.

The feud started on Instagram during the week when Anyaene wrote that Davido wouldn’t have had hit songs since November last year but for him.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, Anyaene said that he had issues with Perruzi particularly, not David.

He stated, “I don’t have problems with Davido; I have issues with Perruzi, my artiste. All the songs Davido released since last year November are my records. They are my records because those songs were written by my artiste. Songs like Fia, Ada, Mind by DMW, Aje by DMW and other songs they might be working on now are all the property of Golden Boy Entertainment.”

He explained that when he found out that Peruzzi gave songs to Davido, he felt bad about it. But, according to him, after having a one-on-one discussion with Davido, they agreed on how he would be settled or rewarded.

“Peruzzi has been going for shows and getting paid; I have been patient with them since November. I am unhappy because I have not been settled. As a businessman, when you invest money in an individual, you expect a return.


“Davido has given Peruzzi some guts to do whatever he likes; he has forgotten that he signed a contract with me and I have lawyers on the case.

“Perruzi started working with me in 2016 and I was paying him salary. I officially signed him in 2017 for a three-year contract. He has breached a contract and he is an ingrate,” he lamented.

The CEO insisted that he knew what actions to take but he didn’t want to appear like an enemy of progress and he wanted the best for Peruzzi.

He added, “I want everyone to shine, but if you disrespect me, I have the power to bring you down. We agreed I would get royalties from all the songs written by Peruzzi and get paid periodically. It was a verbal agreement; for us to meet and put everything into a paper agreement, they are pretending to be busy.

“I am just being tactical about the whole issue; they have cheated me. Though I am aware that Davido always gets away with things, I know how to deal with them. I plan to settle things without attracting any drama, but if Davido wants to take me for granted, I will expose them. For all the songs they have released, I have original copies and I can drop them if I desire to. I also have screenshots of my conversation with Davido that can implicate him.”

Since it was reported that Seyi Shay shared a deep kiss with Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, aka Vector, in a forthcoming movie, Lara and the Beat, there have been reports that the two musicians could be in a relationship.

However, in an encounter with Sunday Scoop, Seyi Shay rubbished the reports, saying that she shared a long history with Vector even before they became known musicians. She said, “I have a long and exciting history with Vector before the music and movie. He was one of the reasons I stayed in Nigeria to do music. When I first came to Nigeria, he was the first friend I made in the music industry. He really helped me understand the Nigerian music and told me things I didn’t know at a time. I featured him on the remix of Irawo. I am happy it was him I played a movie role with. It was very easy working with him because I know him well. I don’t know anything about being in a relationship with Vector, but I definitely think Lara and the Beat is a movie worth watching because we both share a strong chemistry.”

Taking a break from music to feature in the forthcoming movie, she admitted that she feared she might lose her relevance. She stated, “To play the movie role, I abandoned my music career for about two months as the hours on set were very long. I couldn’t go to shows neither could I record songs. I lost money but I made a great movie. However, I was extremely worried that the break could make me lose my fans but it didn’t. Acting in a movie has added to my profile and brand. When the movie comes out, it will boost my popularity.”

Speaking on her recent cozy pictures with Kiss Daniel, which also ignited dating rumours, she said, “Those were just pictures taken on the set of a new music video and nothing more. I don’t pay attention to what people say on social media.”ve done what I wanted to do and I have moved on,” he stated.

Some residents, artisans and business operators around the Otedola area, venue of the disaster have expressed their worries and fears over the persistent crashes that usually resulted in loss of lives and property.

They told SUNDAY PUNCH correspondents who visited the area on Saturday that they had yet to recover from the trauma of the tanker fire explosion that occurred on Thursday evening.

Some residents, who spoke with our correspondents, narrated their ordeal and how they are still experiencing shock over the unfortunate development, especially when they actually saw people burning inside their own vehicles, without any help.

They said their fears stemmed out of the fact that they could have been victims of the same incident if the fire had extended into their estate.

A resident, who simply identified himself as Tare, said he was not at home when the incident occurred. He nevertheless said he was yet to recover from the shock.

He said, “I was at the office when a friend called to say that the Boko Haram insurgents had invaded my estate. I was in panic until I called home and they told me what exactly happened.”

Another resident, Patience Joseph, who had a shop in front of her house, said that she was in the shop when she heard the explosion and fled.

She said, “I was sitting in the shop when I heard the sound of the explosion, I immediately ran inside my house. I immediately ran outside again looking for how to escape.

“Despite the distance from the fire, the heat could kill and that was why most of us evacuated from our homes at that moment. The heat was affecting our skin as if we were inside the fire.

“I have not recovered from the trauma that came with it. Whenever I see a tanker passing now, I always feel like there was going to be another explosion. I just pray that we never witness such incident again in this country.”

A tricycle operator, Segun Ayo, said the heat of the fire affected him because he was still close to the gate of the estate, when the tanker exploded.

“The heat from the fire was something else; I am still rubbing something on my hand. I am very happy that I was not caught up by the fire. Sometimes, the scene of the incident still flashes in my mind and I can’t but fear.

“I believe some people died as a result of the smoke because the smoke was so thick that the rescue workers had to give us nose-guards to prevent us from inhaling terrible odour,” Ayo added.

A vulcaniser in the area, Babatunde Ojo, said, “It was a horrible sight especially when we were counting the number of cars that were burning. That day was not a good day. It would take a long time to erase such a horrible experience from my memory.”
