In an era where it is common for entertainers to take one illicit substance or the other to enhance their performances, singer Dapo Fasuyi insists that he does not take alcohol or weed before facing the crowd.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, the singer said his talent was natural and he was ready to use it to make a difference in society.

He said, “People who rely on alcohol or drugs before they do music are not natural and that has side effects. I don’t need to take anything; I believe in myself and my craft.”

But the indigene of Ondo State, who has been in music for 15 years, admitted that it had not been easy doing music. He added, “I am thankful to God for where I am today. Even when things were not going well for me musically, I was still passionate about it. I come from a family where no one wants me to do music, except my mother and sisters. My father wants me to be a banker; I even studied Banking and Finance at the University of Ado Ekiti.”

Describing himself as simple and precise, he stated that his style of music made him different.

He said, “With my music, I try to experiment a lot and my style is completely different from any other musician. My lyrics are deep and educative.”

Speaking on his new EP, In the Time of Suffering, Dapo stated, “I have nine songs on my new EP and all the songs are about me – from where I started music till present. I produced all the songs myself. Also, I have started recording new songs and I plan to release more videos soon.”
