Touching Story Of How A Poor Lagos Street Boy Became A Wanted Internatonal Model

Heartbreaking Story Of How a poor Lagos Street Boy became a wanted International Model in London.

Read his story below...

mannikwen:
I waited to post this today because my boy( I call him child of Destiny )shot for a Major Brand in London today : -So I was in Lagos few months ago and I met this young kid at a scouting event. Great face, perfect skin tone and above all he was super humble. At that moment I knew this kid did not come from nowhere God has directed us to meet (I’m a strong believer)and I will do everything possible to push him out there and make his face known. We groomed him, got a passport for him, went to his family house ( which was very emotional). The family was not sure of what was happening but they were calm because their child looks happy about it. To cut the story short, agencies in Europe started showing interest in this kid. Adewunmi got his first job shooting for Vlisco x Tokyo James Campaign and to God be the glory as I write this now Adewunmi is in London (, I mean after he missed his flight because of Lagos traffic. God pass them ), he got his permit to work in London. First time flying and first time leaving Nigeria/Lagos. Adewunmi is now represented by Models1 London, 16Men Paris and Independent Models Milan , ( these are top agencies)... why I’m I putting this out here, just to advice you that if you find yourself in a position where you can help please do. Nigerians are going through a lot, use whatever you have to help someone out there. The world is nothing if we don’t give a hand! P.s specials thanks to @theokem_ for your help through this journey, God bless you ♥️. ... swipe to see how he was transformed! I thank God for blessing me to be a blessing ... Go and be a testimony and congrats on your job today - Child of DESTINY!

The Nigerian Embassy in Kenya, was, today, vandalised by some angry Nigerians protesting the killing of a Nigerian, who was a student of the United States International University-Africa, Nairobi.

The deceased, Bamiyo Ashade, was allegedly assaulted by some Kenyan policemen, on Monday, at his house in Four ways estate, kiambu. The officers were said to have tried to extort him despite finding out he had valid papers.

However, he stood his ground, as he didn’t commit any crime. The officers then resorted to harassment and assault. Seeing that he was nearing his death, he was quickly rushed to a hospital, where he died, yesterday.

However, today, his friends stormed the Nigerian embassy in the country, to register their displeasure about the way the embassy treats them. According to them, they have been totally abandoned and neglected by the embassy. Some properties were vandalised during the protest.

THERE was commotion on Wednesday in the Igando area of Lagos as commercial bus drivers clashed with the operatives of the Lagos State Task Force on the Environment and Other Related Offences and the Mobile Court.

The image maker in charge of the state police command, Chike Oti, while speaking on the incident, said that ten people have been arrested in connection with the incident but denied that it was a clash between the drivers and the task force operatives.

About four people were reportedly injured in the riot that ensued and scores of commuters were stranded for a long period of time as the commercial drivers stopped operation for hours.

The angry drivers accused the task officials and the Mobile Court of unnecessary harassment and pleaded with the state government to call them to order .

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that it all started around 10: 30 on Wednesday morning , when the task force operatives and the Mobile court invaded iIgando Motor Park and impounded some vehicles.

A commuter, who was waiting at the park for a bus, George told the Nigerian Tribune that ” the policemen were about taking the buses away when the bus drivers mobilised and attempted to prevent them from taking the vehicles away ”

” The situation became tensed as commuters along the area ran into different directions as some of the policemen attempted to shoot into the air to disperse the drivers, ” the eye witness said .

The eyewitness added that ” after the task force operatives left, the drivers mobilised themselves and stopped their members from picking passengers ”

A driver, who pleaded anonymity , while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune said ” the governor should call the task force and the mobile court to order. How can they impound vehicles at approved motor parks? It is getting unbearable for us.”

The driver also added that ” the whole essence of this impoundiment is to collect money from us . They are after the money and not for any other reason .”

The Lagos police spokesperson told the Nigerian Tribune that ” the task force and the Mobile court were in the area to perform their legitimate duty and they had completed it and left when some people felt aggrieved and attempted to cause commotion .”

The Lagos police image maker also said that ” the police moved in immediately and put everything under control. Ten people have been arrested in connection with the incident

Civil servants and pensioners in Ondo State on Tuesday protested against the alleged refusal of the state government to pay their salaries and allowances from the Paris Club refund.

The pensioners accused the state government of not paying four months pensions, while some of them alleged that the government had been deducting their pension illegally since 2013.

Similarly, the state workers, comprising members of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress accused the state government of withholding and planning to divert the Paris Club refund to a fixed bank account.

The protesters marched to the governor’s office in Alagbaka, Akure, singing anti-government songs and blocked the entrance gate of the governor’s office, preventing workers from going into the premises for several hours.

Speaking on behalf of the pensioners, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Chief Rapheal Adetuwo, said the government owed the pensioners about N43bn from 2012 till date, adding that many members of the NUP had died of hunger.

He said “If President Buhari saw salaries and pensions as means of livelihood and if he rightly dole out Paris Club refund to state governors to enhance the immediate payment of salaries and pensions, such money should be used for the purpose.

“We have to embark on this protest to let the public know our plight. We can’t continue to keep quiet; the outstanding gratuities are getting too much, government must do something about it. “

In the same vein, the NLC Chairman in the state, Tayo Ogunleye, said the government had failed to pay the outstanding salaries and pensions of workers and pensioners as directed by the Federal Government.

Ogunleye said, “The Paris Club refund was released by the Federal Government solely for the payment of arrears of salaries and pensions. No more, no less”.

Also, the state TUC Chairman, Soladoye Ekundayo, said it was only the Ondo State Government that had refused to address its citizenry on the refund despite repeated demands by labour leaders.

He said “It is disheartening to note that while other states have disbursed their refund according to the directive of the Federal Government, Ondo State Government pretends not to have received it

“It is a bitter truth that the state government in connivance with the Office of the Accountant General has placed the Paris Club refund in a private interest-yielding account in one of the banks for the reasons best known to them.”

The workers threatened to resume at the entrance of the state secretariat office on daily basis until the government settled the accumulated salaries and pensions’ arrears.

However, the state’s Head of Service, Mr Toyin Akinkuotu, while addressing the protesting workers, said the government would not hide anything from them, promising that all workers and pensioners would soon get their pay.

He told the workers that the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu-led administration had not owed salary since inception, stressing that the workers were paid as and when due and letters of 2018 promotion exercise had been issued to worker that were due for promotion.
