Four people have been killed and several others wounded in an attack in southern Israel, police say. Three were stabbed to death outside the BIG shopping centre in Beersheba, while a fourth was rammed by a vehicle driven by the assailant, they say.
The attacker was shot dead by a bus driver. Local media reports say the assailant was an Israeli Arab, though this has not been confirmed.
It is the deadliest such attack in Israel for several years.
Footage from the scene shows a bearded man in the street outside the area, holding what appears to be a large knife, as traffic passes by. In another video, he is confronted by a man with a gun, who opens fire when the assailant lunges at him with the knife. A number of wounded people, some reported to have critical injuries, have been taken to hospital.
The incident follows a spate of stabbings by Palestinians of Israelis in recent weeks. It is the third such attack since Saturday. Police said Tuesday's incident began when the suspect stabbed a woman at a petrol station, then drove to a shopping centre where he rammed into a cyclist. He then went to a second shopping centre across the street, where he stabbed more people, before being confronted and shot.
Local media reports say the attacker was an Israeli Arab Bedouin from the town of Hura, about 12 miles (19km) east of Beersheba. They say he had previously served time in an Israeli prison for security offences and was known by the security services to be a supporter of the Islamic State (IS) militant group.
Rugaria: With her old school "Typhoon"? Mediocre submarines? Americas Patriot missile systems that are basically third rate when compared to Russias S-400 or S-500? Where are Britains recent progresses on lethal delivery systems? Or is it her prehistoric tanks!? Ahbegii... Ordinary Pakistan or even the Koreans will trounce your Great Britain and they know that... Both Britain and Russia know that Boris Johnson is just humoring his local British population..
If you think Pakistan will trounce Britain, you must be more deluded than I initially thought.
Meanwhile the UK military will ground your Nigerian military into the dust and you know it is true. Maximum 2 days and Nigeria will surrender , lmao.
BritishNaija: Why are you guys so mischievous in creating topics on this forum? Video of a year ago and you have set up the narrative to fool those who do not check dates. Look how you posted this to look like it coincides with the current War in Ukraine.
The recent transfer of nuclear weapons happened on the 19th of March.
I then posted a video with the caption - "The video below is a similar convoy to the very recent one reported in this article”.
Anyone who understand English properly knows that I was not trying to tie the two together. Next time think before commenting.
An unmarked military convoy carrying 'up to six' nuclear warheads passed through Glasgow last night amid heightened tensions over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Having been tracked from the M6 motorway near Kendal, the convoy was spotted on the M74 at Lesmahagow around 25 miles south of Glasgow prior to its arrival at Royal Naval Armaments Depot Coulport (RNAD) on Loch Long around 11:30pm last night.
Nukewatch UK tracks and monitors the convoys that transport the UK's Trident nuclear warheads by road from Atomic Weapons Establishment Burghfield near Reading to Coulport.
They believe the convoy travelled west on the M74 right through Glasgow's southside before joining the M8 south of the Kingston Bridge. It then passed over the Erskine Bridge before travelling past Loch Lomond on the A82.
The route is the same the unmarked military convoy was captured on video taking back in May 2021 and also the same route it is believed to have taken a few months earlier in March of that year.
Confirming its passage through Glasgow via the M74 and M8, Nukewatch UK Campaigner Jane Tallents told Glasgow Live: "We think that's the most likely [route] at that time of night. And looking at the timings of it I would say yes that's probably what it did, took the M74 onto the M8 over the Erskine Bridge and up the A82 at Loch Lomondside.
"I know it was about 11.30pm last night that it got into [RNAD] Coulport. I think there were four warhead carriers I believe. Our reckoning is that each of those trucks can carry two but one of the trucks is empty as a spare in case breaks down. So if there's four we expect there to be six warheads, or up to six warheads anyway".
The convoy is believed to be the first to pass through Glasgow in five months, and while it comes amid the ""very, very alarming" Russian invasion of Ukraine, Nukewatch UK say it is "routine".
"I don't think this convoy is of any more concern than the fact that we are always, 24/7, armed and ready to start a nuclear war. And yeah obviously this current situation is very, very alarming. And how quickly some incident could just provoke something that gets all out of our control quickly.

Vladimir Putin today held a huge rally in front of thousands of 'Z' flag-waving Russians crammed into Moscow's Luzhniki World Cup stadium.
The pro-war event was to mark the eighth anniversary of Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, and saw the Russian strongman talk about the success of his 'special operation' in Ukraine.
Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24 in an effort to degrade the military capability of its southern neighbour and root out people it called dangerous nationalists.
Ukrainian forces have mounted stiff resistance and the West has imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia in an effort to force it to withdraw its forces.
The white 'Z' has become a symbol of pro-Russian nationalism since Putin launched his brutal invasion of his neighbour on February 24, as it is painted on many of Moscow's military vehicles.
As his bombs continued to fall just hundreds of miles away in Ukraine, Putin boasted of Russia and Crimea's 'shared destiny', and praised the peninsula's people for voting in a referendum to be part of Russia - which was held while it was still occupied by Russian troops.
But in a bizarre moment, Russian state television suddenly cut away from Putin mid-speech on Friday, instead showing patriotic songs being played at the event instead. It appeared this was just a broadcasting error.
Col Sergei Sukharev and his deputy Major Sergei Krylov among a number slain from 'glorious' Kostroma regiment, seen as Russia's most elite fighting forces
One of Russia's top paratroop commanders has been killed in Ukraine in the latest blow to Vladimir Putin's debilitating war effort.
The death of Col Sergei Sukharev, of the 331st Guards Parachute Assault Regiment from Kostroma, was confirmed by state TV in Moscow.
Earlier his 'liquidation' had been claimed by Ukraine's Centre for Strategic Communication and Information Security.
'Commander of the Kostroma Airborne Regiment, Colonel Sergei Sukharev… got lost in the "[military] exercises", but returned home the right way,' said the Ukrainian statement.
His deputy Major Sergei Krylov was killed alongside him, said the report.
ODESSA, Ukraine — Ukrainian forces carried out counter-offensives against Russian positions on Wednesday, seeking to inflict what one official called “maximum losses,” even as the invading Russian military stepped up its lethal attacks on cities.
In Mariupol, an airstrike destroyed a theater where about 1,000 people had taken shelter, according to city and regional administrators, and photos and videos posted online showed the burning wreckage of the building.
Officials in Mariupol, the besieged southern city that has suffered the most intense bombardment, said they could not yet estimate the number of casualties among civilians, who might have been in a bomb shelter beneath the theater. The strike came as 11,000 residents evacuated the city on Wednesday, according to its City Council.
In a video address to Ukrainians early Thursday morning, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine called for more sanctions against Russia and said it was a “terrorist state.”
“Our hearts are broken by what Russia is doing to our people,” he said, “to our Mariupol.”
After falling back under a relentless pounding over the war’s first weeks, Ukrainian troops tried to gain some momentum with counterattacks on Russian positions outside of Kyiv and in the Russian-occupied city of Kherson, in Ukraine’s south, a senior Ukrainian military official said.
Rather than seek to regain lost territory, Ukrainian forces tried to cause as much destruction and death as possible, attacking Russian troops and equipment with tanks, fighter jets and artillery, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive military information.
“In the task of inflicting maximum losses, we’ve done excellently,” the official said.
American intelligence officials said their conservative estimate of Russian troop deaths was at least 7,000, a staggering number that carries implications for both combat effectiveness and morale. Western defense and intelligence agencies estimate that Ukraine also has suffered thousands of combatants killed.
Kingpin1000: To those saying this is fake news, you need to understand that these are not ancient times when the most skillful swordsman is the most feared warrior. In modern times they can take down a general with a bomb. No one is safe in the battle field.
President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced an additional $800 million in security assistance to Ukraine, bringing the total to $1 billion announced in just the last week.
"The world is united in our support for Ukraine and our determination to make (Russian President Vladimir) Putin pay a very heavy price," Biden said. "America is leading this effort, together with our allies and partners, providing an enormous level of security and humanitarian assistance that we're adding to today and we're going to continue to do more in the days and weeks ahead."
The package of military assistance will include anti-tank missiles and more of the defensive weapons that the US has already been providing, including Javelin anti-tank and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, officials familiar with the plans said. The assistance, however, will stop short of the no-fly zone or fighter jets that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said are necessary to sustain Ukraine's fight against Russia.
News of the additional assistance, which was first reported by The Wall Street Journal, comes as the White House continues to face intense pressure from Congress and Zelensky to find new ways to aid Ukraine. The Ukrainian President, who remains in his country, addressed US members of Congress remotely Wednesday and renewed his calls for more assistance.
Given that Zelensky was specific in his requests, officials said Biden was also going to be specific about what assistance the new $800 million will go toward in Ukraine, including potentially the armed drones that Zelensky has called for.
The $800 million in security assistance comes from the massive spending bill the President signed into law on Tuesday, which includes $13.6 billion total in new aid to Ukraine.
The Biden administration will look to get these hundreds of millions in new aid to Ukraine as quickly as possible, with the President noting Tuesday that it is becoming "exceedingly difficult" to get new supplies into Ukraine, though they are still able to do so.
The Biden administration is also continuing to develop sanctions targeting top Russian officials and those in President Vladimir Putin's inner circle, with plans to ramp up the number of targets in the coming days and weeks, according to multiple US officials.
The process has been ongoing, and has taken into account specific suggestions of targets provided by top Ukrainian officials, including Zelensky, the officials said. In a call with Biden last week, Zelensky laid out a more specific range of targets for individual sanctions, one of the officials said. The administration is currently working to address those requested targets.
in his virtual remarks to Congress, Zelensky went further when he requested the US impose sanctions on all Russian politicians who continue to support the government. While some Zelensky requests, including the implementation of a no-fly zone, remain off the table for Biden, the sanctions are viewed by the administration as a tool they can readily deploy.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the US has slapped sanctions on dozens of top Russian officials and oligarchs, as well as their family members. Biden also signed off on targeting Putin directly with individual sanctions, in coordination with the European Union and United Kingdom.
In a sign of the speed with which US officials are looking to move to support Ukraine, the administration has sent about $300 million of the $350 million Biden recently authorized for Ukraine in a little over two weeks.
As Russia's invasion has raged on, Zelensky has pressured Biden and NATO to do more, expressing frustrations over Western allies' concerns about provoking Putin. He renewed those calls on Wednesday.
"Russia has turned the Ukrainian sky into a source of death for thousands of people," he told Congress as he described the use of missiles, bombs and drones by Russian troops to inflict brutal and deadly attacks on his country. "We are asking for a reply to this terror from the whole world."
"To create a no-fly zone over Ukraine to save people, is this too much to ask?" he said. Zelensky went on to say, "You know how much depends on the battlefield, on the ability to use aircraft, powerful strong aviation to protect our people, our freedom, our land, aircraft that can help Ukraine, help Europe. You know they exist and you have them, but they are on Earth not in the Ukrainian sky." "I need to protect our sky," he said.
At the conclusion of his remarks on Wednesday, Zelensky had an impassioned message for Biden, saying, "You are the leader of your grand nation. I wish you to be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace." This is a breaking story and will be updated.
CNN's Zachary Cohen, Natasha Bertrand, Jeremy Herb and Katie Bo Lillis contributed to this report.
