Sports › Re: Solving NPFL Niggling Issues, Beyond League Management Company by Ihenzy(m): 11:33pm On Jan 26, 2019 |
daveP: How many Club jerseys are produced, and circulated all over the country?
How many fans or citizens know the colors and logo of the teams that play in the league without second thoughts?
I can mention the club logos and names of the 20 teams in the Epl, including those in relegation, but i can't do same for NPFL. why?
You want the white man to comman invest in the league and you broadcast the league games one a tv station his ancestors that came to naija help create 60yrs ago? Smh!!
Who will watch such a game and enjoy with all the poor broadcasting and poor picture quality? Is that not a big embarassment to Nigeria?
The refs has always been ruining games since i was a kid, and yet no improvement till date. Like, are they like the NPF that have no improvements in the process that churn out graduates from the academies?
So one ref cannot just be passion driven for once and desire that he wants his name to be known on the continent and on the world stage?! oh cash!! Its always been cash!!
I can't rem the last ref from Nigeria that officiated an African Qualifier. shame shame on you refs.
The clubs are managed by the govt that are like Stan Kroenke, the owner of Arsenal, who is American and as such, its obvious that football is no passion for him, but just a side business. So he invests more in american football and smile when next he turns to the Arsenal FC.
The league doesn't have an official identity enough to woo a passerby to wanna enter the stadium and watch. it doesn't!!
That jersey aspect should be a starting point to me. Spread it all over naija. You can get business owners willing to make club jerseys will official deals with the club itself, etc.
Let Nigerians know wassup.
Do football related interviews with individuals, captains of teams, as regard their identity, dreams, club history(i bet 90% of current players don't know the history of the club. I can beat my chest and say it anywhere, they just play cos they want a route to europe)
Open up stores that sell club stuff.
And finally, get youths(youths are inspired by football anywhere in naija), get youths that would bring live to the commentary section of the NPFL games. I've been hearing those old men's voice for decades and not only that, their usage of english is piss poor. No inserting of digs, sly, yab, poetry, sacarsm, exaggerations, and suspense. They can't even make someone listening on radio to be apprehensive, even for Super Eagles games.
Reminds me of Mack Macfadden in the One Tree Hill series that rose from a school locker room self-made commentator, to national commentator cos he...... lemme fizzle out hear.
Naija as a whole can rarely inspire itself. But let the opportunity be given. And maybe. just maybe, Our League can get a following out of 200million people.
Some clubs don't even have 100,000 followers on IG or Twitter.
You need to see the way some use these handles, jeez!!! Nice observations, I wish to contest for NFF president someday I pray am able to get people to believe in me. |

TayserMahiri: Look at this one. Without Kenya Nigeria is dead. Don't complain when Kenyans comment on YouTube videos. At least we are not hating.. We actually do it on all videos because as you know our internet...fill it yourself. Of course when we say you'll win the WC we are joking. We know you can't win it in a million yrs. We love pulling your giant legs.
For the last sentence, what are you saying Kenya is one of the very few African countries that represents itself and Africa brilliantly. Name any field. In sports we literally carry Africa's weight on our backs because some like Tanzania can't do anything. Was watching sports the other day and a Kenyan hockey team was whipping naija hockey teams left right and center in Nigeria. And we have this thing of not caring whether the at home btw we just whip you there. What country did you say you are from again? I want to check my Google map |

tck2000: To be sincere,i would say that i'm ashame of the little interest shown in our local league.Although,i registered on Nairaland for about two months now but this is the first time that i am posting a topic.I love reading threads about our local league,i had followed lot of them written by other's,i noticed that all the thread are 2005,2008,2010,2016.i have never seen a 2018 thread.Though i might still be a kid but i see that our league could challenge the top 3 league in Europe. Why? This generation of leader's doesn't want to do the right this. How can the government be awarding cash to super eagles to boost performance? That is adding water to a river.Do the NFF boss think $5000 is anything compared to their salary at their various club? I guess Pinnick is to Old to sit at the glasshouse. And our LMC is so Lazy,Inefficient. Our coaches would be wearing Agbada, polo and jeans,Manchester united jersey etc.The use of titles Alhaji,Chief.this is football put your "Chieftaincy and Alhajitaincy away. Me self e tire me o |
