The Halo Movie Will Happen

It's been a while since we've heard anything about the possible Halo movie, but now comes word from Frank O'Connor, Franchise Development Director, 343 Industries, Microsoft Game Studios, who says that the movie will happen eventually.

O'Connor talked about the possibility at the MI6 Conference in San Francisco last week.

"We're going to make a movie when the time is right," he said. "We own the IP. If we want to make a movie, the scale of all the other stuff that we do changes dramatically. We make tens and tens of millions of dollars on ancillary stuff, toys, apparel, music and publishing. If we do a movie all of that will grow exponentially. We have some numbers if we do a movie, but it changes everything. It also changes our target and age demographic."

The Halo movie almost moved forward with District 9's director Neill Blomkamp and executive producer Peter Jackson back in 2006. Stuart Beattie later wrote a film adaptation of "The Fall of Reach," complete with concept art.

Harrison Ford Confirmed for Cowboys & Aliens

Iron Man 2 helmer Jon Favreau has confirmed a Latino Review scoop that Harrison Ford is joining Daniel Craig and Olivia Wilde in the director's graphic novel adaptation Cowboys & Aliens.

Favreau posted the following on his Twitter account.

Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don't tell anybody.

Based on the Platinum Studios Comics graphic novel written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley, the sci-fi Western explores what would happen if the traditional Old West enemies -- cowboys and Native Americans -- found the prairie attacked by aliens in mid-1800s Arizona.

The DreamWorks and Universal movie is targeting a July 29, 2011 release. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof wrote the script.

One crazy thing i used to do was the adventure thing. I was prolly like 5 or so. My brothers and i would go with our older cousins (all males by the way) we'd cross this stream (short cut) into like the 4 street away from our house. We felt like we were going on adventures - passing some meadow (grasses), crossing the river (creek), braving the wild and all that. Even took to tying cloth on stick lol. My parents would come home and have no idea where all of us were. They'd be worried, running around town looking for us . We would get home late in the evening. Enuff beatings. But next day. . .we'd still do it again I think we were a bit crazed then. . .[/color]
