You know, for me, the amazing thing is that he also defends a chap who says that that very Civil Rights Movement was a mistake.

So do Benalvino3 and raumdeuter. They all defend the man who said that the very movement that allowed blacks to have equal rights in the US was a mistake.

How can anyone ever think of these fellas as having any iota of self respect.
Benalvino3 has said similar things himself.
For one, he believes the world was better off in the 60's.
Also believes slavery was a good thing for black Americans.
And I think Raumdeuter has walked up to that line(may have said similar but can't be 100% sure so don't want to put that on him).

It's that still colonized mind and self-hate.

This part. As a bonafide born and raised in Nigeria, I don’t even feel confident yapping on and on about the current politicians and their policies. Basilica wants to lay behind his keyboard and tell me what’s going on in my Californian neighborhood. Same as Ono. Just a set of ridiculous people.

I know I dislike the effect of tinubu’s policies but I can’t confidently outline each of them and say specifically what it is about them I dislike since I’m not that conversant with the details.

I’d feel stupid going back and forth with someone about their lived experience.
Exactly!!! 💯
I just don't understand the gain to me.

I knew you’d latch onto my Houston trip to make some generalisations. You’re a tool. Look at your long epistle over an answer I gave. Has it occurred to you that I didn’t quite reveal everything about my US experience to you ?
More or less of a tool than they guy who has spent posts calling someone gay because some perpetual liar got 'excited' when he saw a white guy in my picture?
And was this longer or shorter than the many posts you've written on Bemuraca's colo-minded excitement at seeing a white guy?
You can miss me with the this.

ono:
Bro, make I leave you be. Keep on yapping away. I’m reading about me pretending to know “everything”. Where in any of my post did I ever point out that I know everything? I have consistently told everyone here on end that humans with all that we claim to know are limited by the system that created them. The creator of that system knows more than we humans know. That highly knowledgeable being is God. The all knowing and powerful. You lot think you can logic your way around things of this world without God. That’s crazy!
And here you are again. Trying to use your "faith" to cover the BS that you do.
That's that fake Christianity I'm talking about. That rambling nonsense you can expect from people whose faith is just a weapon to try to beat the people they see as "others" into submission.
But if you believe God is the only omniscient one, than practice that. Open your ears instead of your mouth.
You may learn something

Here is what you wrote:
ono:
Madam, if MLK had access to the technology we have today, he won’t be on the streets- that I can tell you!
Only the lazy, dull and jobless goes out there to protest. Benalvi showed a couple of them fat and flabby in one of his X post earlier.

So, how can you tell me? Did you march with MLK? Do you understand the history of the African American civil rights movement? Do you have an understanding in what helped bring about the success of the civil rights movement? Have you been in a movement which changed social/governmental policy and led to legal equality of anyone?
Again, tell me what experience or expertise you relied on in saying any of this?

ono:
As to my sexuality, I don’t even know what to say to you again. Let me not use some foul words so Seun’s bot won’t block my post.
I've given you multiple opportunities to prove you aren't gay. And you haven't.
Using your logic:
We know you were a V until near about 30. Very suss.
Then you say you got married. Most guys like that get married to pretend they aren't gay. You getting married like that is suss again.
You always talk about gays.
You even seem to be really close with Bemeruca who had an infatuation with a man in this thread who always talked about r-ay-ping other men. Gay guys hang out together.
So, by your logic, prove it. But, it seems you are having a hard time proving it.

ono:
Now we are in the Information Age. A lot is available to anyone who wants to know about the US and elsewhere. I can’t claim I know everything about the US, heck I can’t even claim I know everything about Nigeria. I have never travelled to Nassarawa state in my life. Does that mean I don’t know anything about th place ? Your reasoning capacity is suspect. Could it be because you’re gay ?
Yes, and of course you can really know something without experiencing it. That logic is drivel for uneducated minds who like to speak about things they have no experience in.
You know infinitely less about the US than I know about Nigeria. Though I am a Nigerian citizen and spend considerable time there, I don't even feel comfortable offering political opinions on Nigeria.
You know little about the US. Acknowledge that and maybe true learning/understanding can begin.

Yes. I was in Houston some years back - on a course. I was there for weeks. Stayed in one hotel off Sam Houston freeway. Pleasant experience. What’s your problem ?

I have answered your gay question in an earlier post. I have nothing to hide.
So you think your "weeks" experience on a course gives you some comprehensive understanding of the US?
Now it's not the opinions that bother me, it's how you speak authoritatively about somewhere you really don't have much experience with or understanding of.
I just don't understand what the purpose of it is. Do you think your uninformed views are more valuable than informed views?

I usually go to forums because it's a good way to get perspectives from people who are in the know.
So, like with this Iran war, I'm curious about military strategy and weapons systems, so fortunately the forum I'm on has some people I know who worked in DOD, the state department, developed military equipment, etc. etc.
Now, not every one of them has the same perspective, but because of their experience in their fields, what they share is invaluable and even their disagreements is valuable. So, most of the convos now are deep detail stuff. Now I may chime in once in a while, but most of the time I just read, and learn because I am comfortable with not having to pretend I know everything.

But here that's flipped on its head. 3 of the 4 conservatives who have driven the conversation in the last few pages don't even live in the US or have any particular expertise in it (lying about it doesn't count). And 2 of the 4 (Bemeruca and Basilico) have never stepped foot in the US.

It's ok not to have to talk so authoritatively about something you don't have great amounts of experience with or understanding of.

As to the other topic about being g-a-y.
Cleary you have something to hide as you are trying to hide it.
If you weren't trying to hide it you would prove it and stop hiding it.
I hope you are beginning to understand how nonsensical most of your posts and questions to me on this were.

On what ground do you attempt to cast him as gay repeatedly?
Just like the "MAGA Christians", there are a lot closeted Nigerians who drape themselves in faux Christianity because of that.
As if that will act as their shield from people suspecting them.
And because of that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd thing on their mind is fantasizing about other men and fantasizing other men are gay.

I believe people assume others are doing what they themselves can see themselves doing.
Bemeruca sees two men in a picture, he thinks their gay.. wonder why...

Logic makes your mind shut down. Thats a problem with upbringing and education

Its been a failure of previous Republican and Democratic president to address the Iran issue especially Obama who sent them money which they in return distributed to their proxies to make the US less safe

Now Iran has missiles that can reach 4000km, they have advanced their enrichment programs while expanding their proxy networks

International policies is not for s00y boyz
Trump was president for 4 years while we were supposedly at war with Iran. He did nothing.
Reagan was president for 8 years and secretly sold weapons to Iran while we were at war with Iran. I guess that also makes him a traitor.

But, this is how Republicans argue.
They compare an action with a Perfect case scenario because generally there can be no redo to compare (i.e Biden's withdrawal)
But in this case we can compare because we can see how both decisions turned out.

Let's look at Obama's Nuclear Deal:
They transferred 1.7 billion (500 million plus interest) that they would have to transfer anyway (lost a case) as part of leverage.
For that, there was no attacks on the homeland and Iran was holding up its part of the deal.

Fast forward to Trump:
He blows up the Nuclear Deal and attacks Iran.
By doing so Iran is now making 139 Million Dollars a Day, there has been acts of Terrorism against the US homeland, soldiers have died and it may cost us another 1-2 Billion per day just to fight this war.
And to end it we will probably have to make a deal giving Iran Billions more.

Your argument was that Obama gave them money and made the US possibly less safe in the future.
But Trump has given then more money, has cost us more money, has already made the homeland less safe and have had soldiers already killed.

So, why are you talking about the possibility of being less safe because of Obama's Nuclear deal, which didn't happen, when Trump has actually made us less safe?

Sound bites are great but they are not thought out policies until you are asked to show how you will implement it sustainably given the conditions

Free meals for Under 12 sounds great then they ask you how do you fund it sustainably. More govt spending which comes from taxpayers, Are you willing to pay more taxes for this. Then it dawns on them

Obamacare same thing, How do you fund it. Like we have seen with Obamacare, the premium kept rising and needed more govt subsidies. Where do govt subsidies come from? Taxes, are you willing to pay more? Then the light bulb goes off

Epstein file is not a policy. I am sure you know what policies are. Or what was the last Democratic policy on Epstein file?

Defund ICE, Great, then what happens to illegals who try to enter the country. Which body will stop an enforce border laws. Or should we remove all border laws regarding entering the country illegally? Should we have a limit on all who enter or anyone who wants to enter should be allowed? Thats when the reality hits

Its at this point that they start seeing the foolishness in the policy they support and they turn it into I just support the Democrats

A party getting trashed is nothing new, Almost every sitting presidents party get trashed n mid terms dating back 100yrs

If you have been paying attention long enough you will know this or be familiar with the 2010 shellacking of Obama
This is a joke of a post. You wouldn't even understand a policy if it smacked you in the face.

That's why you can vote for Trump who promises never to go to war and then goes to war with Iran.
How is the deficit he promised to reduce going?
Or the housing prices? What was his policy for reducing that again?
Or gas prices? What was his policy for reducing that?
Or maybe the tariff policy that he said other countries would pay (yet somehow now has to refund billions of dollars to Americans), or that was supposed to simultaneously be used to pay for the government instead of taxes and reduce the deficit, while making it so factories are being built in the US. How did that work out?

Jesus, the person who voted for a man who didn't even have any policy papers, makes up things on the fly without even thinking them through is talking about Dems don't have policies.
Jesus, just name 1 policy Republicans have enacted in the last 50 years that have made your life better. Just 1. You can't.
It's not the wars they constantly get us in, or their fiscal policies which constantly increase the deficit while crashing the economy.

Honestly, only really uneducated people vote for the GOP, because they are the only ones uneducated enough to believe they have actual policies.

Look at the education levels of people who vote GOP.

Very well weighed and delivered. I agree. I only said its fishy because there's simply no way a co-relation with his being the President's son will not be drawn. Its just impossible. It will always look like some sort of nepotism.

But I wholly agree with you.

I must add that those who support the man who mass-pardoned January 6th convicts and the ex president of Honduras - a mass drug trafficker - had best be silent in this matter.
I hear you, that's what we nonconservatives do.
We want fairness and justice and ruminate on it and get pained about anything that may seem unfair so we even go to lengths to make sure there is no perception of unfairness or bias.
So, what we do, is we bent so backwards to not be seen as biased we become biased the other way.

Case in point Merrick Garland and how he ran his investigations.
Or James Comey
Or I don't know if you remember the controversy around Lynch and the tarmac meeting with Clinton. Republicans railed on that; how could an ex-president meet with the AG for a few minutes when their planes are waiting on the same tarmac while her department is investigating his wife. All the while Trump is posting on Truth social who his DOJ should investigate.

There are two sets of rules for Democrats and Republicans.
And I for one aren't living under that paradigm anymore.

Stunning article
European nations were planning on fighting Americans
Headline doesn't do it justice

Meanwhile, a European official told the Financial Times: "After Venezuela, they [Americans] thought they could walk on water. Let's take this thing, and this country."

Soon afterwards, a small military contingent of Danish, French, German, Norwegian and Swedish soldiers was flown to the Greenland capital Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq, where there is an airport.

At the time, French President Emmanuel Macron said the initial contingent would be reinforced with "land, air, and sea assets".

DR said a follow up deployment included elite Danish soldiers and a French contingent trained for warfare in cold, mountainous areas. Danish aircraft and a French naval vessel were sent towards the North Atlantic.

The deployment was presented as part of Danish-led joint military exercises called Operation Arctic Endurance - but the real reason was to prepare for a possible US invasion, DR said.

A decision was taken by Denmark that its soldiers would fight if the US invaded and soldiers were also prepared to blow up runways in Nuuk and Kangerlussuaq to prevent US military aircraft landing there, the broadcaster said.

"The cost to the US would have to be raised. The US would have to carry out a hostile act to get Greenland," a Danish defence source told the broadcaster, while admitting that troops would have been unlikely to be able to repel a US attack.

Also pardoning his son was fishy. However I would not blame him for it in the circumstances particularly when he could see the ascension of a corrupt adversary who would do worse.
The Special Prosecutor(who stayed on from Trump's term) actually abused the system to go after his son.

He paid a heavier than normal penalty for not paying his taxes on time (eventually did pay them). They usually don't go after people criminally once they pay their taxes. Compare that to Trump's man Roger Stone. They filed a civil case against him instead of criminal one for not paying his taxes. When the case was filed, he still hadn't paid his taxes.

He also paid a heavier than normal penalty for lying on a gun form (saying that he wasn't an addict), for a gun he had for 1 day. They usually only prosecute that if it's in commission of a felony. But here they just prosecuted that alone here.

On top of that they had a 4 year investigation of him, dragged his personal life around, released private pictures of him from data that seems to have been stolen and then went after him during an impeachment hearing. And they still found nothing except the little they went after him with.

I don't mind the pardon. If he wasn't the President's son he would have gotten a plea deal for everything without jail time. Even the initial plea deal he got was harsher than what anyone else would have gotten. And Republicans still forced the Prosecutor to spike it.
I don't think a person should be treated better or worse because he is the President's son

Why does the US give Israel money again?
We (the US) are morally complicit in this.

Defending the soldiers involved in the incident, Kroizer said, "I stand behind IDF soldiers in every situation. Even if the collateral damage includes children or women, it doesn't matter to me."
"I have no sense of compassion for my enemies," he said, referring to the children, adding that Palestinians born in 2006 when Israel dismantled Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip, "are the same ones" who later became Nukhba fighters, referring to elite Hamas terrorists who massacred Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023.
