Ofunaofu: So I should believe your paid video, but when it’s a blogger’s video, it suddenly doesn’t count? Bros, that’s straight-up double standard.
No be hypocrisy be that?
Let’s not twist the matter, we’re talking about what Tinubu actually commissioned. Na 30km dem really do? That one na the real bone of contention
The video you paste the link, I watch it and there's no tangible Information in the video.
I only shared the video with you because you're asking for evidence
You asked for evidence, I showed you a video with a lot of information, but you're not ready to watch and learn.
The only option now is for you to put your money where your mouth is... If you're game mail me so we will meet on Tuesday. We will place a bet and post the thread on nairaland. The only way people like you learn is when dem chop your money
Bobloco: You’re throwing around bets and flexing like a road inspector, but all that noise doesn’t change the facts. Nobody needs to gamble half a million to confirm that what was commissioned, according to the contractor, and actual verifiable images, not propaganda isn’t 30km.
You claim you’ve “driven on it,” but can’t provide a single credible source beyond your steering wheel. That’s not proof, that’s just online vibes. Keep your bet; this isn’t Bet9ja. I’m dealing in facts, not fantasy.
So are you trying to say you can't put your money where your mouth is?
I had to watch the video on Twitter and the blogger is at km 30 which is still under construction. There's no point in time Umahi claimed the entire 47km in section A has been completed.
Some sections are still under construction in section A, that's why only 30km of the road was commissioned.
If you have a problem with government commissioning 30km is understandable, but to claim the government is lying, is false.
Bobloco: You’re throwing around kilometer numbers without proof,
I don't have prove about a road I have drive on? A lot of you guys online are just clowns.
I dey tell you what's on ground, instead of you to go there and confirm yourself, you choose to believe stupid blogger
If you're in Lagos state we can have a 500k bet on it. Make we meet on Tuesday and check out the road with our eyes. If you're game mail me
We will have a bet sha o. You will only have sense if you lose your money
We will also have another bet on the section B that starts from Eleko junction. I'm ready to bet another 500k on it, about 10km in section B has been constructed and is ready to be used.
owobokiri: Lol That project is going nowhere.. 30 kilometers in 2 years? Do the maths. And you haven't even gotten to the marshy and difficult creeks terrain. Just another project to siphon money as usual. Nothing else.
The project is not up to 2 years.
Like I said before, keep on crying. Your inconsequential tears won't stop the construction of the project.
Mvmv man wey want make Government finish the construction of a 700km virgin road within 2 years.
SmartPolician: A simple search of major sources of cotton in Nigeria shows that cotton comes mostly from the North. Why not decentralise development by siting this factory in a place where there's access to raw materials? This is something taught in basic Economics class.
When people come to power, they want to grab everything for their people without considering the feasibility of such projects. That's how they used politics to site a refinery in Kaduna that has no crude oil wells. I shake my head at this country!
Who told you it's the FG that's financing the project? So you want the FG to start telling investors where to site their project? Mugu
Oyo, Ogun,Ondo and Kwara are also cotton producing states.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will unveil the biggest cotton and polyester processing factory in the world at the Special Agro-Processing Zone located at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu/Ilisan area.
Abiodun said this while receiving the former Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein, and members of the Iperu Development Association in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
He explained that the factory, which is under the “Renewed Hope Cotton Resurgent Initiative,” would sit on 400 hectares of land and employ about 250,000 people daily.
“We are clearing the site, and this factory is going to sit on 400 hectares of land. It is like a whole new town. The requirements to support this industry can best be imagined. The economic impact on Iperu and its environs, the entire Remoland, Ijebu land, and the whole of Ogun State is beyond imagination,” he said.
He said that apart from the cotton industry, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has also indicated interest in siting a base in the town to secure not only the airport but also to provide adequate security to Iperu and the adjoining towns.
Explaining the rationale behind the siting of the airport at Iperu, Abiodun noted that the town is at the central point of the state, which could be easily accessible from any part of the state, adding that the 100 housing units built by his administration at the Airport Housing Estate would soon be commissioned.
The governor said the government has embarked on the reconstruction of the old Ibadan and other township roads while public schools and primary healthcare centers were renovated, and a mother-and-child hospital was brought to the town.
Igbos from the south east will apply to work there in large numbers. But you will see them online downgrading Yoruba land and claiming they only live in Lagos.
Ofunaofu: Who actually achieved the 30km, Tinubu, David Umahi, or Reno Omokri?
The contractor handling the project didn’t confirm that 30km has been completed. @ObjectvMedia also corroborated the claim that the 30km mark wasn’t achieved.
Bro, stop arguing foolishly.
O-20km has been completed except for km10 where they are building a bridge
38km-47km has been completed.
The section B that starts from Eleko Junction, more than 10km has been constructed and sand filling don almost reach Ogun state border.
I dey tell you the facts on ground, you're arguing base on what a blogger is telling you on YouTube
Penguin2: I’m not going to lie, I’m a Peter Obi supporter and wanted the Labour Party candidate to win the 2023 guber election in Enugu but I can say without equivocation that Edeoga doesn’t have the capacity to do half of what Peter Mbah is doing in Enugu State.
The is a discovery.
He should just look towards security because a lot of people are complaining how unsafe Enugu roads have become.
I hope you're not one of the people wailing Tinubu is constructing the coastal highway?
DesChyko: Is Reno a government official? If he is not, did you share this post with him under where he made this claim?
APC urchins sef.
The way things like you reason upside down eh. Where in my post did I even mention Reno? Where in my post did I claim Reno Omokiri is serving in Tinubu's government?
Ofunaofu: An exposé was published by @Objectvmedia after they went on a tour of the coastal highway.
According to @Objectvmedia, the tour was prompted by the need to verify whether 30 km of the coastal road had truly been completed, as claimed by the Tinubu administration and corroborated by Reno Omokri. Omokri stated that he drove the entire 30 km of the recently commissioned Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and even claimed he was at the 30 km mark with Prof. Wole Soyinka.
It's important to note that this is a 750 km coastal highway project initiated by the Tinubu administration. According to the administration, 30 km of the highway has been completed and was commissioned by President Tinubu on May 29.
However, observations suggest that the full 30 km have not been completed. In fact, there is uncertainty over whether even 20 km have been constructed, contrary to the administration's claims.
This raises the question: why would the government lie about the progress of an ongoing project?
Was it necessary?
Was the Tinubu administration in a rush to showcase a "completed" project, realizing it has been in power for two years with little to show?
Work on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway “The beginning of section one, as at today, about 15 kilometres by two carriage way on the average has been achieved, and at the end of the project at Eleko where section one stopped, about 5 kilometres has been achieved.
“So, the idea is by 25th of May 30 Kilometres continuously will be made available for Mr President to Commission from the beginning of section one down to kilometre 0 to 20,” Umahi said.

DesChyko: On June 4, Reno Omokri refuted claims that the completed portion of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is less than 30 kilometres, stating they personally visited and confirmed its length. He emphasized that prominent figures like Wole Soyinka, Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Tony Elumelu, and even opposition governors were also present, implying the legitimacy. He also claimed to have taken a picture at the 30KM mark.
However, it appeared he had dragged the prominent figures into an unwarranted lie as ObjecTV Media, a fact-finding media outfit, visited the project and shared an explanatory video at the 30KM mark made by the contractors. It turned out to be, that Reno was caught in a bare-faced lie. This video shared details of an investigation done on June 6, two whole days after Reno's claim.
The video exposed the uncompleted nature of vast ranges around this mark as far as the eyes could see. The narrator also shared untouched swathes of land across the road stretch, as proof that the road is far from being ready at 30KM; dismissing claims to that effect as mere propaganda. Reno was also challenged to produce the video supporting his claim of the road being completed at the 30 KM mark. The narrator suggested that Reno may not have been able to tell the difference between speed limit and actual road measurement.

30km Of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway To Be Ready By May – Umahi
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed satisfaction with the level of work on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, saying that 30 kilometres of the road will be made available for President Bola Tinubu to inaugurate by May 25, 2025.
Advertisement The Minister, who disclosed this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, is also delighted with the quality of work done by the contractor so far, jokingly comparing it with the streets of heaven.

Immediate tolling Umahi said that he would be recommending to President Tinubu, that the first section of the road which he said will be completed by the end of this year, be tolled.
He said that the President sees the project more as an investment than as a legacy project, adding that the President is no longer focused on legacy initiatives.
Work on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway According to him, the return on investment for the project will be very high which will benefit the Nigerian economy on the long run.

Project transparent enough The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is one of the major projects started by the Tinubu administration on assumption of office, but the project has attracted criticisms from many Nigerians, especially the opposition figures.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who was the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in 2023, and the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, both slammed the award of the contract, saying that it shrouded in secrecy.
Advertisement Recently, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, also criticized the Lagos-Calabar Highway, labelling the N15.6 trillion project “wastful.”
Obasanjo shared this view in his new book “Nigeria: Past and Future,” which was released during his 88th birthday celebration last month.
But Umahi defended President Tinubu, maintaining the handling of the project has been transparent enough.
“The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu never recommended any contractor to me, never sent any contractor to me, never interfered in terms of the costing,” the Minister said.
He said that Obasanjo has always praised him when he was governor of Ebonyi for his transparency, adding the former President cannot say otherwise of him now.

A lot of you guys are wicked and just want to burn this country down because of your hate for the president. Construction has not even started yet in Ogun state but you took a picture from Lagos state and paste Ogun state on it.
I won't be shock if you're an Igbo and an IPOB member, you guys thrive on propagandas.
The road is coming from Calabar, Calabar is not close to the ocean. The road will eventually make a detour close to the ocean as construction goes on in Akwa Ibom.
Odingo1: Why are you pained, some of you don’t know that Geopolitical zones are not recognised by Nigeria constitution and may never be recognised because the North always oppose it because they want 1 northern Nigeria. Geopolitical zones is Alex Ekwueme idea during Abacha conference that later adopted by Obasanjo but never included officially in the constitution.
