Politics / Re: Bomb Explosion At Sabon Gari In Kano by ikanya: 8:45am On Apr 16, 2012
It is reckless attributing the Boko Haram activities to Islam and Muslims. If the truth be told, our Muslim brothers have been the ones that suffered more casualties and fatalities as a result of the Boko's bombings. Islam has also been on a frequent bashing as a result of this group using it to whip up sentiment, which has not been successful.
We should control our sentiments and begin to see Islam through the good behaviours of our Islamic friends. Boko Haram's activities is a political issue and not religious as some of us would see it.
Truly speaking, when it comes to killing for or in the name of God, every great religion has been involved in it, Christianity inclusive. I am a Christian but Islam should not be seen from the perspective of the Western powers who create and sponsor terrorism across the world. When America or Britain occupies or bombard an innocent and weak country for vague reasons, it's in order. But when a member of that society that had been so unjustly treated, out of nationalism responds to the pains inflicted on him, it is terrorism. Islam should be seen differently from Boko Haram.
Foreign Affairs / Re: George Zimmerman To Face Murder Charge In Trayvon Martin Case by ikanya: 10:17am On Apr 12, 2012
Racial killing is an issue that has been ignored by the authorities and has also been given media blackout in the US and UK. This particular one would have gone the way of others if not for the popular emotion and condemnation it attracted from black and all colourd Americans.
America is not the SHINING NIGHT it claims to be in teams of respecting human dignity, ensuring individual freedom, preserving human rights, protection of the poor, etc.
The era has gone when the Western Powers used their media to control the minds of docile WORLD...
Politics / Re: US Lashes At FG For Accuses Them For Allowing Boko Haram To Grow by ikanya: 11:59am On Apr 11, 2012
The new American position on Goodluck J's administration simply shows that GEJ is becoming some how independent minded. It simply shows that the administration is reasonably deviating from the direction that serves majorly the American interests as opposed to the Nigerians'.
Obviously, it was not for the love of Nigerians that the Obama administration has come up with this people oriented position.
Romance / Re: He Was Greatly Disapointed Afta 1st Intimacy Wit His New Wife by ikanya: 12:00pm On Apr 10, 2012
I have heard that a girl's hymen could be broken through intense exercise. It's possible for such girl not to show the bleeding sign of a newly deflowered. Personally, I dont envy any man that got married to a virgin girl.
Politics / Re: Ojukwu: A Giant Who Lived For Others - Prof Achebe's Tribute To Ojukwu by ikanya: 11:12am On Apr 10, 2012
Those who want to compare the late Ikemba with the likes of Winston Churchill and Mandela, and what they termed as "hideout" should have availed themselves of the opportunity of reading extensively balanced accounts of the Biafrain-Nigerian civil war and the role Ojukwu played.Despite the fact that he advised that his side was ill prepared for the war, despite the fact that he did all that could be done to avert the war, despite the fact that he nursed the dream of one indivisible GREAT NIGERIA, he had to do what needed to be done to save his people that became the subject of massacre in other parts of Nigeria at that time. It seemed clearly that those who see the late Ikemba as a villain has been well fed with the federal government propaganda, during and after the civil war.
Ojukwu had never at any time gone to any "hideout".
His pardon by the Shagari's administration merely stated a good understanding of Ojukwu's personality, his love for a great Nigeria, the part he played to save his people and the circumstances that led to his declaration of the state of Biafra.
The situation Ojukwu faced was not same with those of Winston Churchill and Mandela and the comparism was born out of ignorance.
Anybody who thinks condemning Ojukwu makes him a nationalist or a true Nigerian is simply a slowpoke.

Travel / Re: Why Do Foreign Embassies Reject Our Nigerian Traditional Weddings? by ikanya: 10:49am On Mar 23, 2012
Countries like the U.S. can be arrogant most times. But one thing I don't know is whether there is a documents issued by our traditional institutions to authenticate or certify traditional marriages.
Again, you talked of documentation at the embassy, in all fairness, if no document is presented to certify that one is duly married traditionally, it becomes difficult to document anything as regards to the person's marriage status because there will be nothing to document. Anyone could just claim that they are traditionally married. How would you authenticate it?
And on the other hand, if there is a solid proof to to show that one has duly married traditionally and such proof is treated without regard by the said embassies, then our government should wake up to preserve and uphold our tradition and save the citizens of this country from reckless embarrassments.
Religion / Re: Bomb Blast In Jos: St Finbarrs Catholic Church, Rayfield! by ikanya: 2:26pm On Mar 11, 2012
WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW OUR EMOTIONS TO OVERRIDE OUR SENSES OF FAIRNESS. THE BOMBINGS HAVE NOT BEEN TARGETED ON CHRISTIANS ALONE. MUSLIMS ARE VICTIMS TOO.
IN AS MUCH AS WE FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT THIS UGLY SITUATION, WE SHOULD TRY NOT TO ASCRIBE RELIGIOUS CONNOTATIONS TO IT. THE FACT REMAINS THAT WE ARE ALL VICTIMS OF THE SITUATION...
THE SECURITY AGENCIES SHOULD LIVE UP TO THEIR TRAININGS AND BUDGETARY ALLOCATIONS.
Politics / Re: Gej Writes To British & Italian Pms On Killing Of Their Citizens In Nigeria by ikanya: 10:48am On Mar 11, 2012
Good move from our president.
Mr. President should also extend same condolence letters to the families of all the Nigerians killed in Boko's bombings. The lives of two foreigners should not be preferred to the lives of thousands of dead Nigerians.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Vladimir Putin's Return As President Good Or Bad For International Community? by ikanya: 12:12pm On Mar 05, 2012
Gerrard95, it is very clear that you mistake the Syria issue with the Arab spring in North Africa and the Middle East. I want you to have a clear picture of what is going on in Syria. The situation in Syria is not same with the Libian, Egyptian, Tunisian and Yamenese issues. While in these places I mentioned, you have popular protests demanding for reforms or regime change, you have in Syria armed group backed by Western powers Killing both civilians and members of Syrian Government Forces.
Assad is an independent minded leader who strongly believe in resistance as a means of preserving the integrity and resources of his people. This position does not go down well with the US and her allies and they now resorted to arming a group that are made up of defected Syrian and mercenaries to create the Libian-like situation in Syria so that NATO would give the Libian-like response in Syria.
Libians protested against Kaddafi while Syrians are rallying around Assad. You can now see why Russia and China vetoed against the resolution on Syria.
Don’t be deceived by the Western rhetoric. How have the so-called defenders of human rights responded Bahraini situation? They are busy selling arms to the government to suppress and kill it’s own people. And how have they responded to the agitation in Yamen. By supporting the killing, and when saw the determination of the Yamenese, they decided to ease the tension with a single candidate elections- So much for democracy, Gerrard.
Those pretending to fight for human rights in Syrian are blind to the crackdown and killings in Saudi Arabia. Gerrard, please, do not take the facial values of what the Americans and her Western allies tell you. Try always to look deeper.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Vladimir Putin's Return As President Good Or Bad For International Community? by ikanya: 11:23am On Mar 05, 2012
Vladimir Putin's return is a big plus and a great positive for the world. Putin has been a big figure checkmating the American and Western imperialist hegemony. In my thinking, Putin must have worked very hard to forge the RUSSIA+CHINA ties in the UN Security Council. This China-Russia alliance has, as could be seen at the moment, become an affront to the oligarchic powers, America's arrogance, the evil mechanization and military diplomacy of the US and her Western allies. To the West, Putin is "a world terrorist". Time has come now for the Western World to put a stop to their terrorist acts and Putin has championed that fight.
Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Govt Confused – Okogie by ikanya: 11:19am On Dec 29, 2011
GEJ's administration has been a disaster from the very first second he was inaugurated. His interest in realizing his second term bid has crippled and handicapped him from bringing those behind the bombing of innocent Nigerians to early graves, to justice. For those who survive the blasts, they will live with heavy bodily scares for the rest of their lives, and for those of us who are far from the blast scene, are we any better than those living in Gaza, Somalia, Southern Sudan, etc?
The fear that the arrest of those behind these blasts will cause his second term agenda serious set backs has handicapped him, and he has chosen to use innocent Nigerian lives as a sacrifice for his WICKED AMBITION.
On the issue of subsidy, it is obvious that the core issue that forced the Greek and Italian Heads of Government to resign was because they refused to implement the policies of some International Monetary Institutions which would further plunged their people into deeper hardship, but here we are, with a script written by this INSTITUTIONS (International Capitalist Organizations), handed to the present Nigeria minister of Finance (Mrs. Ngozi O.I.), President GEJ is more than willing to implement their policy of SUBSIDY on the down stream sector, against every good reasons, without caring a heck how those who supposedly voted for him feel.
The obvious reason for his insistence in the implementation of the Fuel subsidy removal is to impress on the Western Powers (Britain, U.S. France, Germany, etc., that he is a trusted ally whose second term bid they must support. GEJ has not only failed Nigerians, he has failed the more the ethnic and religious bigots who championed his cause before, during and after the the elections, and has dealt a deadly blow to the hope and aspirations of the minority groups who thought that through GEJ, The Big Three, will learn to trust and respect the minority ethnic groups, on the issues of the "Nigeria's Project".

Religion / Re: Atheist Gives $22.5million To Catholic Church by ikanya: 4:05pm On Sep 05, 2011
An Atheist, even though does not believe in God, might believe in the service of humanity. Love for one's fellow is an inborn nature to man, not necessarily what we learn from our religious faiths. If an Atheist felt that the Catholic has the best network to reach out to humanity, globally, and then made donations for such cause, does not mean that he has chained in his belief on the non-existence of God. Catholic accepting such donation merely acted in line with the biblical injunction of "thou should not be a judge upon your neighbour ,
Politics / Re: Has Any Nigerian President Ever Worn Suit? When? by ikanya: 3:47pm On Sep 05, 2011
Dressing is one of the ways to uphold one's identity, which as well tells where one is coming from. Through their dressings, our presidents are merely telling the world that they are Nigerians and proud ones for that that matter. What is bad is not their dressings but their bad and corrupt minds,
