PoliticsRe: The Spate Of Hausas In Owerri by IKEMBANNEWI: 8:40am On Dec 09, 2013
berem: You think its only the hausas that have monopoly to violence? Is there any part of this country or in diaspora an Igbo man has migrated to that you haven't heard of crimes committed by an Igbo man? Just as an Igbo man is business oriented,so is the hausa man.
Berem i'm beginning to doubt the authenticity of your Igboness, kam gwaziegi nke bu eziokwu. Inasmuch as i aint against you standing up for the ''truth'', there are certain things you type on this forum that depicts not the true trait of an 'Ada orlu' that you claim to be. Udo diri gi

There was a time i reasoned like you ''What are these people doing in our land'', funny thing was, back then i was in the north ''Their land'' and yet had that mindset.
My point is, go to Sabon Gari in Kano, Or to Old Airport in Sokoto, you'd think you were in Aba and Awka, respectively. We cannot continue flocking to other peoples lands in droves and then keep a long face when they reciprocate the gesture. I, personally have no problem with them relocating and residing in Igboland, so long they dont bring their 'bloodlust' and Fanaticism with them. Alaigbo welcomes all welcomeables! QED

Politics''I dont take orders from the 1st lady''... Rivers CP by IKEMBANNEWI(op):
Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu, on Thursday declared that he does not take orders from the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, just as he said the enemies of Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, are not his enemies, based on the fact that he is a police officer and has the duty to protect everybody. This is as the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will join other countries and human rights groups across the globe to celebrate the International Human Rights Day on December 10. Mbu, who was on invitation to the office of the commission in Abuja to state his own side over the petition written to the commission by Amaechi, said all the allegations against him by Amaechi were not true. It would be recalled that Amaechi had also visited the commission to state his own side of the issue. Speaking with journalists after meeting with the NHRC Executive Secretary, Mbu said he is not a politician, “all the allegations against me are not true. “I speak with the governor everyday. If you check my phone, you will see that I called him four times yesterday (Wednesday). We are in working agreement. “The problem is that the enemies of the governor are not my enemies, because I am a police officer, my job is to protect everybody. “I am not at loggerhead with the governor, except that I am a professional officer and I know my job and I do what is right”. On the allegation that he takes instruction from the First Lady, Mbu stated, “How can I take instruction from the First Lady? I take instruction from the IG, who is my boss. I don’t even have access to the President and I don’t want to”. On the withdrawal of some of Amaechi’s aides, Mbu said there was a circular that was passed, stating the number of police that should be with a public officer, “and if anybody has more than that, I should withdraw it”. Earlier, NHRC Executive Secretary, Prof. Bem Angwe, had stated that Mbu’s invitation was not an indictment, but an opportunity for fair hearing. He added that the commission will be fair, impartial and not submit to pressure from any quarters in carrying out its duties.

The same way I cannot live in Warri even if I am given a job that is paying 2million dollars a week! It is that serious because of very bad security situation of Warri and environs has made the city unlivable. I did my nysc there years back so I know make. Presently I can hardly sleep in that city (Warri) as I heard recently that they kidnap and armed- robbers kill people anyhow there now.
Chino, you dont have to take everything offensive. I'm sure if you looked @ warri pikins comment objectively, you'd be able to decipher his reasons for not wanting to leave in Onitsha. Onitsha suffers from same problems as warri i.e congestion, pollution, and lacks serenity. Besides GRA,American Qtrs and other high brow areas, you and i know virtually every other part of Onitsha is an open Market.

Afam4eva: You have a point. The only reason we have the likes of Orji as Governor and people like Uba having the temerity to stand up and contest to be a governor, it means there's a dearth of Igbo intellegentsia living in the SE.
Did you get my mail embarassed pls tell me you fixed it sad

biafrandream: Where are all our Igbo people
Afam is in Lagos, Igbo son(who hardly sees anything good in the SE) Is in London, onlytruth,Dede,Eziachi and the likes are all overseas, leaving behind mediocres to govern the SE. What do you expect when a secondary school certifcate holder like ifeanyi could gather the gall to campaign for Governorship in a state like Anambra that boasts of Achebe,Zik,Ojukwu,Dora,Soludo,Ezekwesili,Alex ekwueme, and the likes...we cannot continue like this if we want our region to progress, we need to curb this menace, b4 one day we wake up to find only elderly, sick and kids in our regions while the able bodied young men and technocrats are all packed in other regions

[b] I'm happy to see Obiano dressing more decently now and more like a 'Governor in waiting', unlike during the run up to the elections, when he was always on chains and a silly looking cowboy hat. Anyways, i keep hoping he does better than Obi, States in Nigeria are developing @ Alarming rates and Anambra cannot afford to be left behind. I want to believe what obi's claims that he has laid 'A solid foundation' for his successor to capitalise on the gains, thus i'd be very dissappointed if by next year i begin reading news like 'Obiano distributes computers to Anambra secondary schools' or 'Obiano distributes cars to traditional rulers or whoever' or 'Obiano builds rural roads'. I want to believe Obi has tackled all those 'basic neccessities' and thus his successor should look for other areas to tackle, for instance no news would gladden my heart like 'Obiano woos a Chinese Company to Onitsha' or 'Obiano begins dualisation of Nnewi roads' or 'Obiano begins installation of streetlights in Awka township'. Obi has done much for the rural communities, the Next Governor needs to face the rural towns of Onitsha,Nnewi,Awka,Ekwulobia,Ihiala and the likes.

Chino.Elects:

You will be shocked as to what my son will tell you about the man . I have taken time to educate him on Nigerians he should emulate as his role model like:

Great Zik: The first Nigerian president who fought for the independent Nigeria and the foremost Pan Africanist and Nationalist.

Ojukwu: First Oxford product in the entire black world and the first president of Biafra.

Achebe: That he is the father of modern African literature and author of the most read African books.

That whenever he sees such names as Awohlowo and Soyenka he should scream in disgust. That one wanted to overthrow a legitimate government of great Zik which earn him life imprisonment and later did same IBB which led to his committing suicide after being rounded up by the military.
gringringrin You've indeed taught him well

Chino.Elects:

Soyenka was a common campus cultist. I showed my son pictures of Soyenka on the internet, and he asked who it was, I told him that it was the man that brought campus cultism to Nigeria. And he asked me what is campus cultism, I told him that it is the killing of students for no just cause. My son got shocked and felt sorry for the man.
Lol, Chino, nwanna, next time i'm in Awka, i must come over to see that Your Son cheesy
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu Is The Mandela Of Our Time(with Memorable Pics In The Army)!!!! by IKEMBANNEWI: 9:22am On Dec 07, 2013
Segeggs: mr flat head. What legacy did ojukwu and achebe leave? Achebe was just a novelis whose achievements are eclipsed by wole soyinka's nobel prize.

Ojukwu's left no legacy and was a failure cos he never achieved biafra. His father inlaw called him a CANTANKEROUS COWARD.

AWOLOWO brought free education to SW, a thing that region is still enjoying till today.
MR OILY SATURATED BRAIN [b]Achebe's things fall apart, remains the most successful book to ever come out of Africa, we all know the politics that played out that denied that book it's much deserved nobel prize. It's the only book that has till now had the highest translations(over 50 languages and counting). I doubt if any of wole soyinka's play has allure and charm outside Nigeria.
Ojukwu stood up to the northern oligarchy and fought against oppression of his people, while your Awalawo was still buttlicking Gowon, hoping hopelessly to become the president(What a gullible coward he was), if not for Awo's betrayal, Biafra would have been independent, competing with Countries like SA and Turkey today. But thanx to Awo, today Nigeria is retrogressing

As usual oily heads have infested the thread with their inferiority complex virus. Ikemba Ojukwu, Chinua Achebe and Mandela are no doubt in the same league, they are most revered in their regions. While Awolowo, Bob marley, and perharps Lawrence anenih are in the same category!
