Although i believe Jonathan has not performed to our expectations in the SE, buh allow me list few things he has done that endears me to him.
1, He Gave Ojukwu a proper state funeral. Something no other president would(from another ethnic group) have done, Obasonjo would have thrown his body into the Niger.
2, no other regime in Nigeria's post civil war era has had more igbos @ the helm of affairs of agencies like his.
3,SE currently head the nations most sensitive position COAS
4, Enugu Airport is now int'l(with an int'l runway under construction)
5, Achebe was Given a heroes funeral(even bigger than Ojukwu's)
6, under his watch projects due for the SE were always allocated to the SE, Enugu,PH, onitsha-Enugu, Enugu-Abakiliki expressways have either been constructed or are undergoing construction.
Although the seaport and 2NB remain areas he's yet to fulfill his promises, i believe he has 'tried' in all.
I believe we voted for Obj same way we voted Gej, what did we gain under Obj? You guys need to cut the dude some slack men!

PoliticsIMO State Gov't Seals Premises Of 8 Banks Over 'non Remittance Of Tax' by IKEMBANNEWI(op): 8:50am On Dec 14, 2013
In its bid to recover over N2 billion withholding tax owned
to it by commercial banks operating in the state, Imo State
Government yesterday through its Board of Internal
Revenue sealed up the premises of the eight defaulting
banks in compliance of a court order. The affected commercial banks are the Zenith Bank, UBA,
Union Bank, Diamond Bank, Keystone Bank, Enterprise
Bank,Eco Bank, Fidelity Bank and First Bank. Addressing newsmen, the state Commissioner for Internal
Resources and Pension Affairs, Mr. Nick Opara-Ndudu, said
the action was taken in compliance with a court order
granted the board of internal revenue authorising it to
distrain the operations of the banks after their failure to
heed repeated demands of the board to fulfill their statutory obligations to the state. “For the avoidance of doubt, the action was taken as a last
resort and following non- -compliance with the provisions of
the law by the affected financial institutions. This action of
the internal revenue is intended to send a signal to all
organisations and institutions operating in the state on the
need for them to meet their statutory obligations to the state and its citizens. “It is hoped that the affected institutions will take
immediate steps to clear the liabilities owed the state to
allow them to continue doing business in the state. “We have gone through our records and the affected banks
are yet to paid their statutory taxes to the state government
and when every entreaty to make them pay failed we had
no other option but to go to court. So, it is not true that the
state government imposed a levy on them, if their
headquarters have paid the tax our records will show it,” he said. Meanwhile, customers of the banks who had gone to the
banks to carry out business transactions were turned back by
the security guards.

Anambraians love roads a lot and judge governance by the quality of road work done.

My observation. The question is why are we Anambraians so steeped in mediocrity?

Peter did a huge injustice by disallowing Soludo to contest for governor sad. Very painful state of affairs because I know that he would have been the game changer.
Nne, everybody was stunned by Soludo's disqualification! Obi had better pray Obiano, turns our doubts into belief. Else i'd never forgive him, for refusing Anambra the chance of having a purposeful leader!

We all know this has been the plans of you inferior beings from time immemorial, to reap where you did not sow. Your plan is to force the hardworking Igbos use Facilities in your region, this has resulted in most of them settling in your region, where these facilities are @ there door step. It's little wonder then that any effort to site these facilities outside your enclave has been met with resolute obstinacy from your folks. You all know your region would crash to the ground and wouldnt be any better than Haiti if these facilities were to be decentralised! but read this The era of holding one region captive just so another would bloom and blossom is over, by his Grace we've been able to get our int'l Airport in Enugu up and running, more airlines would be given permission to fly that route, the moment our amiable minister is able to scale through all the mines you machiavillain folks buried in her path, by his grace we will get this port up and running, and by his Grace we shall be ready for take off b4 jonathan steps down as president. We understand the desperation of the SWesterners, it's no surprises then they've been trying to pull him down, deploying every machinery and tool @ their disposal. But we will triumph, either with Jonathan or not, if we could rebuild our lives after your suicidal leader starved our kids to death, and one homicidal maniac from plateau(Thank God the same people he fought for are now unleasing the same mayhem on his kinsmen) levelled our cities, then be rest assured there's nothing else you can throw at us that would make us bend! Zona.com:
What i saw there in 2011 when i visited was a beautiful waterfall and cave wasting away. The road leading to the place was very bad and almost unmotarable. At a point we had to treck for a long distance on foot through slopes to locate the place. I think it will cost the govt a lot to fix the place to required standards. But i have no doubt the govt will get a lot of revenue from the place if fixed.
Although i agree with the notion that the site should be developed into a tourist attraction, i think it's pertinent to note that, the tranquilty and serenity of the site could be endangered with such a venture if not properly managed! And Nigerians are none to have poor maintenance culture, i wouldnt like to see that place littered with polyethene bags, sachet water and some filthy people might even pee and daefecate in the water, that place in matter of months would just metarmophose into an environmental disaster. That's probably the reason successive Gov't have refused to develop the site. Moreover, the people there might hold the waterfall sacred(traditionalist), and thus wouldnt buy the idea of the place being "desecrated" by ''unbelievers''. Methinks alot of hurldles might have stalled different Gov'ts from developing the place, like Investnow now said that place is no doubt a 'Goldmine'

PoliticsDefected Govs Will Come Back Like Prodigal Sons.....gulak by IKEMBANNEWI(op): 6:01pm On Dec 11, 2013
The Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, says the defected PDP governors are “prodigal sons” who will soon return to the fold, begging for forgiveness. The North America Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gulak stated this as a special guest at a dinner organised by the “Goodluck Support Group (GSG)’’ in New York on Wednesday. The event was well attended by Nigerian-Americans, congressmen and the business community. The night also witnessed formal inauguration of zonal coordinators of GSG with a presentation of a documentary on “See what President Goodluck Jonathan Has Done in 2 Years’’. “Some of these governors are so unpopular; they cannot win elections in their states, no political analysis can show that Rotimi Amaechi can take Rivers State to APC. “It is simply impossible that Amaechi’s APC will take the votes away from the PDP whether at the governorship or presidential levels and other levels for that matter. “Some of these ‘brief case’ political parties fielded Olu Falae in 1998 in an AD/ANPP coalition and lost to PDP; in 2003, they ganged with Buhari, carrying the ANPP banner while the ACN gave the ticket to Atiku Abubakar who abandoned the PDP. “Of course they were roundly defeated at the polls while in 2007 the same Buhari, running on the ticket of the ANPP, ran against the President and was roundly defeated by the PDP. “In 2011, Buhari contested on the platform of the party he formed, the CPC while ACN fielded Ribadu and they were again defeated; I assure you that we will always defeat them and come tops,” Gulak said. He, however, noted that no Nigerian leader had been so qualified to lead Nigeria as Jonathan. “He (Jonathan) passed through all the relevant stages of political tutelage. This President will take us to the Promised Land. He has ideas to move Nigeria forward. Join him to make this happen,’’ the special adviser added. He said the president gave a score-card of his performance in two years. Gulak stated that the evidence on ground showed that the president’s transformation agenda was real. He said the Nigerian Railways, which was long buried and forgotten, was now functional, as well as the Abuja- Lokoja, Kano- Maiduguri, Lagos-Ibadan, East-West expressways and Niger-Bridge were 70 per cent ready. Gulak also said that the Mambila Hydro Power, Zungeru/ Geregou/Ogun Power plants were completed prior to privatisation, a feat completed by Jonathan’s administration. On education, Gulak said that administration had excelled in the Almajiri School system which he noted was catering for over 10 million children. He explained that the administration’s summit on how to move the sports sector forward gave birth to the country winning the African Nations cup, the Under 17 World Cup tournament and qualified for the Brazil world Cup tournament holding in 2014. “Yet some few vocal individuals paint a black picture of Nigeria, giving the impression there is a crisis. “This is a game of politics justlike what is happening here in the U.S. where the opposition shut down the government. “They called the president all manner of names and insisted on budget cuts. Those who jumped ship will come back again.Atiku left PDP for ACN and returned to the fold with profuse apology. “He was welcomed back like a prodigal son; we will welcome back our prodigal sons because out there, it is nothing but empty shelves full of mediocre,” he said. Gulak said the constitution provided for a president in his first term to contest for a second term if he so wished, stressing that some persons were asking him not to re- contest. “Among those making this round of clamour are governors and senators. “The issue of insecurity has become a global problem spreading to the U.S., the Middle East, North Africa, Libya and Syria. Our’s is part of a larger picture of this global challenge. “Boko Haram has links with Al Queda and Al Shabaab, and government is working hard to stop Boko Haram’s infiltration and importation of small arms as well as its sources of funds.

IGBO-SON:
^^^I've lost confidence in the Imo governor! He just makes noise (admittedly he's less vocal nowadays), with nothing solid on ground to show for his state having the highest budget in the region! All you see are uncompleted jobs/roads littered all over the state, and all you hear are stories of Rochas coming to blows with the local/inexperienced contractors he uses that either do substandard jobs or run off with the money altogether! You never hear of such issues with Enugu: the jobs are given to competent contractors, and before you know it, you're looking at a job finished to relative high standards.

Rochas is now in his third year as governor, and the only completed project is the secondary school in Owerri......and a few roads not quite finished to world class standards!
Besides Amaechi and Akpabio, what other Governor in Nigeria builds infrastructure to ''World Class Standards''? Whenever Fashola builds such he tolls it. This should tell you just what's involved in such ventures

He knows what development is all about, if this man had access to the Kind of Funds Akpabio uses for Misplaced priorities, Enugu would be competing with cities like Phoenix(Arizona) by now.
PoliticsAregbesola Asks PDP To Demolish Party Secretariat! by IKEMBANNEWI(op): 7:55am On Dec 11, 2013
Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has written to the
Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Alhaji
Ganiyu Olaoluwa, asking him to demolish parts of the party
secretariat to create space for road setback which the
administration is embarking upon. The notice was contained in a letter written to the PDP
chairman by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Lands,
Phisical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Ayodele
Owoade.
A copy of the letter as made available to our correspondent
in Osogbo by the special adviser on Tuesday. He said that although the PDP chairman challenged the
planned demolition of the party secretariat in court but the
court struck out the suit for lack of diligent prosecution. The letter read in part, “You will recollect that you
challenged the (demolition) exercise at the High Court which
made us to stop it as a responsible government who
observes the rule of law. The matter which you brought to
the case has since been struck out leaving us with no legal
impediment to carry out the demolition exercise. "Attached is the court order for your information and
necessary action. We therefore, advise you to voluntarily
carry out the demolition exercise in the spirit of Omoluabi
ethos which we are sure would have been ingrained in you." According to the court order attached to the letter
addressed to the PDP chairman, Justice A. A. Aderibigbe of an
Osogbo High Court struck out the suit filed by the PDP
chairman to challenge the planned demolition. The judgment read, "I agree with the counsel for the
defendants ( governor) that the plaintiff and his counsel
have not been diligent in their handling of this case. The
pending application for injunction filed on July 22, 2013 and
the entire suit filed on the same day are hereby struck out
for want of diligent prosecution." But the PDP chairman who warned the governor against
going ahead with the demolition. He said that such action
would be resisted vehemently by the party.
Olaoluwa explained that the PDP had filed a motion to
reenlist the suit already struck out. He said, "The PDP is a party that has respect for the rule of
law but any attempt to demolish the fence of the Goodluck/
Sambo campaign office will be restricted vehemently.
We are admonishing the Director of SSS, state police
commissioner not to allow themselves to be used by
Aregbesola in his efforts at pulling down the campaign office of President Goodluck Jonathan."

Freegloble Nwanna kedu ije? I understand your dislike and displeasure towards Obi, i want to let you know that just like you, i never liked Obi, neither did i like his stooge obiano, if you recall vividly, i was amongst those campiagning for Ngige on this forum, but Alas Ngige lost, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it, i have the interest of Anambra @ heart more than Anything else, thus, i wont because i dont like Obi, decide to rubbish any good he does for Anambra. Anambra bu nkeanyi nile, if you decide to engage in a Campaign of Calumny against Obi, simply because you feel( i feel so too) Ngige was rigged out, be sure that the bigger damage will be on the state as a whole.
The other time you created a thread showcasing the bad sides of Awka( mostly federal property) just to rubbish Obi and label him an 'Incompetent Administrator', do you know how many investors you might have driven away with that one singular act? Do you know that thread might have changed someone's perception of Awka(an Anambra as a whole) forever?? I'm not against constructive criticism, but spreading malicious lies just to pull someone down is outright wickedness. Tommorow if Eko ile(Aka agbameta, plaindealer) puts up that pic on any thread and calls it 'Awka' would i have the gall to call him a liar, since it was my brother tha put it up?
Mind you, till now, i find it difficult liking obiano, but i know i have no choice than to give him my backing and hopes he performs better. So nwannem oma, join us in making Anambra better, elections will come and go, Governors will come and go, but Anambra will remain, so if you denigrate your state today, because you hate Obi, what makes you think people's perception of that state will change tommorow if Soludo,Ngige or Dora becomes Governorhuh

Muktar would have won that election had Wammako not gone to beg on his knees to contest under PDP, muktar under pressure from stakeholders decided to accept the post of deputy. That man is the Gov in waiting for 2015. He has a lot of grassroot support(being the son of the former president is equally another advantage) the man is wise

Heading to Lagos not Yorobar land, because the last we checked Lagos was and is not a yorobar land as it was not developed by yorobars but FG. In terms of IGR there is no Yorobar state that can match any SE state, don't be deceived by the news paper based IGR.

Igbos are travelers from time immemorial, so its not today and its not because of better or worse economy but just like the Jews, Igbos are all over the world. Am also aware that Anambra is the most populated state in Nigeria after Lagos and Kano. So how come Anambra is ranking very high if Igbos are leaving so much like you painted it?

Apart from Lagos which is not yorobars's making where else in yorobar land that is worth living in? Where is the said job in the yorobar land outside Lagos which is FG's? The mistake an average yorobar man has kept making is that they do not travel to see what is going on in other regions, they just stock in one place eating oily soup.

It is on record that SE is better off than SW when it comes to povery index. At least I know that Anambra is the least poverty affected state in Nigeria.

Note: Igbos are not going to yorobar land but Lagos which is FG's, the former capital of Nigeria and no man's land.
