I think the man should be allowed to float the bonds, if he does not see any buyers he might learn to cut his coat according to his size. What individual or investment company would put his money in projects that does not guarantee returns.

Ogun State float 60Billion naira bonds, thats roughly $600M na mouth?  cheesy

With that kind of money where has New York, Paris and London or Dubai, let me not forget Lagos gone to, with projects that will show you your money even before investing. Now its that Land locked Ogun state.

We are watching. cheesy

In refering to somene's weakness, the term is "Achilles heel", and not Hercules. Because they sound alike does not make them the same. Do yourslf a favor and type "Achilles heel" in Google to get some education. After that, ask yourself how in the world is Hercules relevantto the statement you made? Let me give you a hint in your search - the Trojan war!!!
Your ignorance is so big it cannot be swept under the carpet.

As they say silence is the best answer for a fool. If I should ever answer to any of your post anywhere on this forum again, that is a clear sign that I might have a problem myself. I can't keep educating a self assured idiot.

You have carefully pointed out your ignorance again. Thank you finally, at least that would be glaring for all to see.

If you dont know this little things how can you claim to undestand issues that are bigger than you.

Hercules is the Roman name for the Greek demigod Heracles, son of Jupiter (the Roman equivalent of Zeus), and the mortal Alcmena, famous for his strength

How can a boy who cannot take a simple decision whether to stay in the forum or not, claim to understand foreign politics which is mainly based on good analysis and decision making.

He now claims he has a good grasp of the above issue on the self believe which is more like self delusion on his mastery of English, and when push comes to shove he would result to another self delusion, his mastery of logic.

Why he has not been discovered as a boy with mastery of English and Logic at the same time is beyond me.

Nairaland has done well in pointing it out to me that there is a high level of folly in our society.

Foreign AffairsNiger's Hungry 'crossing Into Nigeria' by Ikomi(op): 12:27pm On May 22, 2010
Reports from northern Nigeria say a growing number of people from Niger are crossing the border into Nigeria because of the food crisis at home.

A BBC correspondent in the northern Nigerian state of Katsina says many women and children from Niger are seeking shelter with local families.

Aid agencies say about seven million people in Niger - about half the population - are short of food.

Niger's transitional government has started distributing food in the north.

The BBC's Abba Muhammed Katsina in Katsina says some of the those arriving from Niger are selling water or tea to make money.

There are also reports of women going from house to house begging for food, he says.

A significant number of Nigeriens are also reported to have arrived in Sokoto State.

The chairman of Nigeria's Senate foreign affairs committee, Jibril Aminu, told the BBC's Hausa Service that he would call a meeting when the chamber resumes next week to discuss the matter.

Last month, John Holmes, the UN humanitarian chief, told the BBC Niger was threatened with total crop failure in some areas and the situation is worse than the 2005 crisis.

The reason why you continue to wonder is because you have failed to realize the following

1. Isreali actions are meant to humiliate, maim, punish and kill Palestinians.

2. Hamas on the other hand work towards liberating Palestine from the likes of Israel who are bent on taking their lands and punishing them for what the Germans (Europe) did.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What has morality got to do with the argument, its a move to save face, that guy is talking high level baloney.

I agree with Otawa. Did they break the law? Yes.
It's quite simple you know. Homosexuality is illegal in Malawi. To each country, it's own.
Using Otawa's point, polygamy is illegal in the states, one could easily also argue that this does not give equal rights to American citizens.
Now the question should be more in terms of crime and punishment. Was the sentencing too harsh for the crimehuh?
In that case I think the Judge got it all wrong, these guys are going to come out as not only gays after 14 years but also as hardened criminals.

I believe the Judge ruled with his emotion than wit.

Meanwhile:

In Uganda, plans to introduce draconian new laws against homosexuality look likely to go ahead despite mass protests, a major petition, and condemnation from the international community.

The bill, which proposes the death penalty for so-called 'serial offenders', has already been described as 'odious' by President Obama.

A senior minister in Kampala has suggested that the death penalty could be replaced with life imprisonment.

We don't know if it is good punishment or not, since me and you cannot say if males are better than females sexually, since we have not tried it, so we can't Judge, and even if we have tried sleeping with males and we found the act abhorrent, note that one mans meat could be another mans poison.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37178222/ns/business/

This should bring about interesting response right? Basically, Hamas are reported to have destroyed homes belonging to Palestines. If this was an Israeli authorities action, I am sure there will be plenty of outcry and condemnation.
In the balance of things, this is something that should be posted. I wonder what the responses will be.

Oh just in case anyone tries to say it is all Western/israeli/Zionist propaganda. Other non-western or at least media perceived as such are reporting the same thing.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37178222/ns/business/
And you think your making sense, your case is pathetic.

The Nigerian Govt. has the right to destroy homes built on Nigerian soil if it think it does not meet the plan of the area just like we have seen done in some areas in Abuja and Lagos, but for the Cameroonian govt., to come destroy Nigerian homes in Calabar, just because we share borders is another case entirely.

You have finally brought your ignorance to fore, accusing Ahmadinajad of issues you cant comprehend.

Don't expect me to come back on this, I ignored it the first time, but I could not let your ignorance pass unnoticed.

A court in Malawi has convicted a gay couple of gross indecency and unnatural acts.

Steven Monjeza, 26, and Tiwonge Chimbalanga, 20, were arrested in December 2009 after celebrating their engagement.

They have been in jail ever since and could now face 14 years in prison.

They had denied both charges and their arrest had sparked a debate about homosexuality in the country.
I try hard to understand a lot of things, but why a man would fancy a fellow man is beyond my comprehension. Now this guys might spend 14years behind bars for being homosexuals. Why cant they just be straight, what in the world in their view is wrong with the feminine succulent body.

Foreign AffairsUssr Planned Nuclear Attack On China by Ikomi(op): 9:50pm On May 16, 2010
USSR planned nuclear attack on China in 1969

The extraordinary assertion, made in a publication sanctioned by China's ruling Communist Party, suggests that the world came perilously close to nuclear war just seven years after the Cuban missile crisis.

Liu Chenshan, the author of a series of articles that chronicle the five times China has faced a nuclear threat since 1949, wrote that the most serious threat came in 1969 at the height of a bitter border dispute between Moscow and Beijing that left more than one thousand people dead on both sides.

He said Soviet diplomats warned Washington of Moscow's plans "to wipe out the Chinese threat and get rid of this modern adventurer," with a nuclear strike, asking the US to remain neutral.

But, he says, Washington told Moscow the United States would not stand idly by but launch its own nuclear attack against the Soviet Union if it attacked China, loosing nuclear missiles at 130 Soviet cities. The threat worked, he added, and made Moscow think twice, while forcing the two countries to regulate their border dispute at the negotiating table.

He quotes Soviet ministers and diplomats at the time to bolster his claim.

On 15 October 1969, he quotes Soviet premier Alexei Kosygin as telling Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev that Washington has drawn up "detailed plans" for a nuclear war against the USSR if it attacked China.

"[The United States] has clearly indicated that China's interests are closely related to theirs and they have mapped out detailed plans for nuclear war against us," Kosygin is said to have told Brezhnev.

That same day he says Anatoly Dobrynin, the Soviet ambassador to Washington, told Brezhnev something similar after consultations with US diplomats. "If China suffers a nuclear attack, they (the Americans) will deem it as the start of the third world war," Dobrynin said. "The Americans have betrayed us."

The historian claims that Washington saw the USSR as a greater threat than China and wanted a strong China to counter-balance Soviet power. Then US President Richard Nixon was also apparently fearful of the effect of a nuclear war on 250,000 US troops stationed in the Asia-Pacific region and still smarting from a Soviet refusal five years earlier to stage a joint attack on China's nascent nuclear programme.

The claims are likely to stir debate about a period of modern history that remains mired in controversy.

Mr Liu, the author, admits his version of history is likely to be contested by rival scholars. It is unclear whether he had access to special state archives but the fact that his articles appeared in such an official publication in a country where the media is so tightly controlled is being interpreted by some as a sign that he did have special access.
