HealthRe: My Parents Are HIV Positive by Ileriahur(m): 1:39pm On Jun 09, 2024
linearity:
It is hard to believe things posted on the internet these days, many people make up tales to generate traffic.

Even in Nigeria, if one has been spending money as the OP is stating and going and forth with the hospital, one of the first thing they do is draw the patient’s blood and one of the first tests they run is HIV test.

It is nearly impossible even in Nigeria to be severely sick as the OP has stated that the mom is and be going to the hospital consistently as the OP has stated without one of those hospitals or Doctors running an HIV test.

It begs the question, what has the OP spending money on? What has been the diagnosis of these various Doctors and Hospitals? What tests have these hospitals and Doctors been running? What has the Hospitals and Doctors being telling you guys that is wrong with mama and what kind of drugs and treatments has the Hospitals and Doctor been prescribing.

If you say, the hospitals and Doctors have not diagnosed HIV, it is time to fire them and sue them for negligence….and if they have diagnosed with HIV they are legally required to tell mama and to advise her on lifestyle changes, give her the necessary drugs and ask that Dad must be officially tested.

This story is a hogwash or it is not complete, vital parts are missing.
A lot is happening in our hospitals too, our health workers are either not trained well or they just lack the required etiquette to work as one. I have had more than 2 encounters where clients would be tested positive and they weren’t told their results, all scenarios happened in primary health care in outskirts of various state. I just wonder if they were scared of telling clients their results or what could have been the case.

Frost124:
Good day nairalanders, thank God this site is a faceless forum... Few weeks ago my dad told me he is HIV positive, when he told me I was disappointed but I made sure I didn't show it and I encouraged him... Him and my mother has been sick for a while and I certainly know he has transferred it to my mum.... My dad was very promiscuous when he was younger even after he married my mom he was still promiscuous. I am the only child and I have been footing the bills for their medical cares I am just 26 years old and I have spent so much and there is more spending still to come....
My father only told me, my mother is not aware of her health status all she thinks it's just a normal sickness happening to her. I have no one to talk to, I don't trust any friends because I believe when I tell them, they will certainly spread the news and you know the stigmatization against HIV patients, it's not good... I am frustrated, depressed and financially drained, sometimes I stay in my room and cry.... To avoid thinking, sometimes I just drink some alcohol... This issue has been in my heart for several weeks I just had to put it on Nairaland to ease my pain. My father just called me today that my mom has been admitted to the hospital, she was too weak to even walk.... Another spending and I am running out of cash, don't know what to do anymore. It wouldn't be this severe if they found out earlier, it's almost late. May God help me and my parents.
Bro it is well with you, I just hope the virus hasn’t done much damage provided her immune system is strong but since she’s down presently she needs to go to a government hospital preferably a general hospital where liver function and kidney function tests can be carried out. Is your dad on ARVs before? It isn’t bad to seek for God’s healing but bro make sure your parents are always on the drugs as they are praying for healing. It is God that also gave the inspiration and wisdom behind the ARVs too. Once they commence the drugs, on no account should they go off it. Avoid private hospitals if you are being drained financially, HIV/AIDS treatment and management is one of the exclusives we have in our government hospitals. Which state are you in? Don’t worry everything is under control.

How do I get my money back from the OPay account that doesn’t exist.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Terrible Experience Applying For A High Paying Remote Job by Ileriahur(m): 12:10pm On May 06, 2024
So sorry bro, had similar experience like 4 years ago. I applied to a job in Lagos, I was in Abuja then, we were to do an online test and submit after 15 mins, I finished like 20 mins earlier, decided to cross check again and as I was about to submit the laptop just went off. Laptop with like 60% battery, that was how I lose that job but thank God for everything. I reach out to the organization but they didn’t reply till today.

FamilyRe: My Brother On Hard Drugs: 18 Years Of Pains And Sorrow. I Need Help! by Ileriahur(m): 10:26pm On May 18, 2020
Google 'TONY RAPU' He is a professional and he does it for free
star4ever:
I have a 42 year old brother who for over 18 years has been on hard drugs. He started this habit while in secondary school and couldn't finish tertiary education for same reason. Efforts made by the family to stop him from substance abuse and rehabilitate him at several occasions failed. Each time such effort is made, he recovers after a while but returns to the habit. Currently, he has become mentally deranged and there seems to be no solution at sight.

He has been admitted to different psychiatric hospitals on two occasions. At both times, he was treated and confirmed fit and sound to return to the society. The moment he was discharged, he quickly went back to his old ways and all the resources spent went into the drain. In one of the occasions, we were strongly advised to engage him as joblessness was one of the greatest problem causing the abuse. We got him engaged by securing a fantastic job which he also left after a week of working there. Other meaningful efforts geared towards engaging him to enable him to become occupied and start earning a living as a man also didn’t work out.

We have organised prayer sessions by powerful men of God, nothing has happened yet. I do want to sound like someone without faith. I strongly believe that our able God will make things beautiful at His time. However, the situation has gone out of control and we need to act fast.

These, amongst many, are some of the interventions already done by the family and we cannot fold our arms and watch people mock us in shame every day due to his abnormal activities in the community.

Now what he does is forcefully, take money from our aged mum, sell any family property at sight in exchange for money to buy his drugs. Beat my mum up at any slightest refusal to give him money. He has been jailed many times for committing several offences related to this habit, yet the problem persists. Maybe we have not applied the best approach?

I am calling on fellow Nairalanders to assist with solutions. I believe there are some of us here who may have experienced this problem in one way or the other, or have an advise to give to solve this lingering painful situation. Your personal or professional experience (s) may go a long way in salvaging this situation for us.

I believe a problem shared is a problem solved.

That is a good step, let us know when you upload the letter so that we can enrol you as soon as possible.
Good morning Admin, I got my deployment letter yesterday, but yet to be signed by the In-charge of the PHC I was posted to. She said she doesn't need any volunteers again because out 12 volunteers sent to the PHC only 2 are working. I pleaded that my case is different, that I am there to work and she shouldn't judge me based on others attitude towards work but she stood her ground that she doesn't need any volunteer and she won't sign. I told her that my expertise is needed based on upcoming programme but she insisted she doesn't need any volunteers. That is the situation now though am going there now to see whether she might still change her mind. Please is there any way forward for me if she still decline?

Good day Admin, I received a text to come for my deployment letter today, immediately I got the letter I proceeded to my PPA to sign and then upload but in getting to my PPA the In-charge that was supposed to sign said she won't sign. Her reasons being that out of 12 volunteers sent to the primary health centre just 2 comes to work. I told her I am different that I am there to work and I would put in my best but she still refused, she asked for my specialty I told her but she insisted she doesn't need any Npower volunteer again. I am at a dilemma now because I don't know what to do. After waiting for so long, and the PHC is really close to my residence.

NpowerNG please I need serious help, I didn't know I was shortlisted for Npower Health after a long dream of joining the program. Just recently (on Wednesday 30th this month) I got a text message for a 2day capacity building for Npower Health in Abuja. I was surprised as I felt I wasn't shortlisted but low and behold when I log on to the website I discovered I was truly shortlisted but didn't get any form of notification after checking online when we were told to check then. I went for the 2day training on data management and e. t. c. I explained myself to the facilitators that came and they said I should not worry that it would be sorted out. My name was even on the attendance list they brought. I have uploaded my passport and id card on the platform but it requested for my deployment letter. I need a way forward. Thanks

I have been feeling sick ever since i had sex with my girlfriend, so i went for a test today only to find out she's infected me with HIV. This is someone i trusted with everything. I've learned my lesson the hard way. My life is ruined right now, I've cried my eyes out and suicide is the only thing coming to my mind now. I'm still alive because of the thought of my mother, butt I'm not sure i can hold on.

Please be careful with who you say you love.
which state are you based? Look for the Network of people living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPHWAN), They will be of great help.
