I feel so disapointed by this revelation...I pray it not true. Can we ask ourselves some salient questions? Was this the reason why OBJ said the NA is full of theives? If its true that FL collected that sum and did not report, can we conclude then that he is a thief? Why would Otedola offer him a bribe if not that there is plot to discredit subsidy report.Has this revelation take the substance of d subsidy report? Why has the government not take swift action on the report since?so many questions so many question.I pray the ordinary Nigerians recover from all these madness going on this country. |
The best news I heard about my darling Liverpool in a long time...Who the heal is talking about Paul Lambert or Martinez ?? I beg, please dont bring in middle-table coaches to Liverpool o. We are in this situation because Roy Hodgson who was over-hyped by those lousy english press was brought in. KD did the damage control mid 2010/2011 season but could have been allowed to go after which we should have appointed a Top level coach at the beginning of last season. The fans was overwhelmed by KD damage control so much that they bended the hands of owners to give KD a 3years contract...I am so happy he has been sacked and any thing less than a top level coach in form of GH, PG even RB would means we are still going round a circle.... |
The most succeesull coach in football history.....Goal.com enomakos: u are right man,i think he is the most successful barcelona coach in history |

I'd love to write but I am not convinced with my English. While growing up I used to write alot of poems, on getting to the university a friend always mock my spoken english which discouraged me a great deal and I have not got my groove back afterwards. I really wish I could be a good writer. |
@DEMDEM, let me advocate for NOI. Like I said in my other post that NOI was overwhelmed by the situation thereby failing to check every details given to her by the most corrupt people in government - civil servants and sugar-coated mouth politicians. I can pardon her for jumping from one TV prog to another not necessary lying but defending the policy that came out of the details she got from these people. Sincerely, I think she meant well for the economy(my thought)considering that fact that GEJ went begging her to be part of his govt. And thats why I said she should own up her part and apologies (she wont resign cos Nigerians dont resign from lucrative positions). |
I really dont think that GEJ will sack NOI maybe DAM. This is because NOI gives his administration some reputation in terms of seriousness with transforming the economy and sacking her would send negative message couple with the fact that GEJ has no strong political will to make critical decision. If I were NOI I would own up to my part the saga and apologies to Nigerians. DAM would likely go because she brings no reputation to the table. I have never liked GEJ because he comes across as a very weak person and a man with weak personality can not lead Nigeria successfully, but I would be his fan if he does what is deem right and follow the recommendation of the committee. |
This is the official report by Ahmed Farouk Lawal committee on fuel subsidy. http://omojuwa.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/FINAL-SUBSIDY-REPORT..pdf |
I read a post of yours about the FIRS woman who changed Nigeria tax system and everyone was full of praise for the woman. NOI should be the agent of change in Nigeria and i think that was why GEJ appointed her. She might want to make changes but it seems she is overwhelmed by the situation. Stating conflicting figures on the volume of oil we consume and amount paid on subsidy by top govt officials show how terrible government operates in Nigeria. That is even enough for them to be ashamed of. If you say NNPC should be disbanded, are you not indirectly saying Madueke is not capable and should be sacked? Beaf: Dude, even Jesus would struggle to give correct figures for Nigeria's oil industry. It is an absolutely opaque den of corruption with a mafia-like setting, so they can hide any figures as they wish. Ask Ribadu what he is facing even though he is 100% sincere. |
Bro!!! Idontliveonfreeoil o.Infact, I want PMS price to be 140naira cos of my neighbours wey no dey let me sleep with their 'I better pass my neighbour' generator...lol. That said, going by the findings of Ahmed Farouk Lawan Committee would you honestly say it was better to remove the subsidy than to go after the cabals and sanitize the industry before introducing the policy (that is if it would be necessary afterall). DaLover: I hope I shouldn't refer to you as Iliveonfreeoil....is it in the interest of the common man to create a productive economy or keep promising them they will enjoy someone elses free crude forever and ever? |
We should try as much as possible to be honest and unbiased with posts here. I noticed that many NLers tend to show a great level of bias whenever issues that concern their tribe or political affiliations are mentioned. In this very case, I believe that NOI,Madueke,SLS and co goofed and whether they should be sacked is up to GEJ. I know one thing that inside of them (i.e if they have conscience) they know now that their submissions in January for subsidy removal was not in the interest of the common man on the street and It is a failure on their part as the managers of our economy not to check and double the policy before they introduced it. In a better clime, these people would resign but alas, we have no shame in Nigeria. |
@OP, You did not finish the story. What happened after?Did you give them money or they just allowed you to go. |
My eyes are red and full with tears, My your soul rest in peace.May God grant your family the fortitude to bear this great loss.Condolences to 865449 Nlders too. |
In your dream abi ? @Beaf. |
Happy Birthday to the People's General, May God spare your life. so that in our life time we can have a man who stand only for the truth as president of this great nation. |
But really the most difficult part of the disqualification is that PDP dragged it for too so that Gov. Silva would not have time to cross to another party. He is dead politically. |
The season film titled "PDP will finish you, Silva" has just begun. The official list of candidates that will contest PDP primaries has been released and Gov. Silva is missing. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially disqualified the Governor of Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva, from participating in the state primaries for the governorship elections. The National Working Committee of the PDP today released a statement announcing that the governor, and a few others including Timi Alaibe and TV executive, Ben Bruce, did not make the final list of qualified candidates. Saharareporters broke the news a few weeks ago revealing that a final decision had been made to prevent the governor from returning to office under the banner of the PDP. However, Sylva vigorously denied our reports and went ahead to engage in bribing PDP officials to reinstate him. A PDP source told SaharaReporters that the NWC dragged out Mr. Sylva's disqualification to stop him from moving to another party too soon The source stated that Mr. Sylva will be disqualified even if he runs on another party platform. NWC Press statement below: The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded the review of the reports of the Screening Committee and Screening Appeal panel for the gubernatorial primaries in Bayelsa State scheduled to hold on the 18th of November 2011. 2. After a thorough review of the two reports, and after a painstaking examination of all the issues raised about each and every aspirant, the NWC has cleared seven out of the 11 aspirants that purchased forms to contest for the primaries. Those who were cleared and shall contest the gubernatorial primaries are the following: I. Orufa Justine Boloubo II. Dickson Seriake Henry III. Enai Christopher Fullpower IV. Kalango Michael Youppele V. Francis Amaebi VI. Ekiyegha Francis Korobido VII. Austin Febo 3. However, in this last and final batch, four of the aspirants did not scale through the Party screening process and have therefore not been cleared to contest the primaries. Those not cleared are. I. Alaibe Ndutimi II. Ben Murray Bruce III. Timipre Marun Sylva IV. Igali Godknows Boladet. 4. All Members of the Party, especially stakeholders in Bayelsa State should note that this is the final decision on the status of all aspirants for the forthcoming Primaries. All efforts should now be geared towards mobilizing Party members for the forthcoming primaries and Elections in the State. 5. In view of the forgoing, all those aspirants whose names appear in para 2 above will be dully issued with final Clearance Certificates to enable them stand for the forthcoming primary elections. For the avoidance of doubt, and in line with the provisions of our guidelines for primary elections, no aspirant can or should use a provisional certificate as a basis for unilaterally declaring himself or herself as a candidate of Peoples' Democratic Party for the Gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa State. Even where he or she does so, it is of no value, effect or utility for the primary elections and is therefore redundant. 6. The NWC wishes to reiterate it's commitment towards enforcing discipline within the ranks of the Party at all levels. We shall therefore not hesitate to invoke disciplinary measures on any member who disregards lawful Party directives or who engages in acts capable of undermining the Party's cohesion or initiates and takes any step that could lead to the breaching of public peace. Prof Rufai Ahmed Alkali National Publicity Secretary http://saharareporters.com/news-page/pdp-officially-bars-timipre-sylva-running-bayelsa-state-governor |
I will support the removal of fuel subsidy until the following are met: 1. Government at all level must prove that they are prudent with the resources they have now for the next one year. All monies accrue to them for the next one year must be accounted, audited and ratified to be correct. 2. All the refineries in the country must be working at optimal capacity in the next one year 3. Government must allow private refineries be built in the next one year. 4. Daily consumption of fuel must be up to 80% produced locally in the next one year. 5. Corruption in government must be seen reduced to an acceptable minimal in the next one year. 6. 80% of our Infrastructural needs (Power, roads e.t.c) must be in place in the next one year. After all these are met by the end of 2012, GEJ and team can go ahead to remove fuel subsidy. I read somewhere that a marketer would bring in ship and will collect subsidy. He return the same ship to the middle of the sea bring the same ship again and collect subsidy and that process will go on for as much as 3time before they will finally offload. The government know these people and the scam, "You dont win a battle by running away", The government should try to stop these marketers and their collaborators within the government and I am sure that at the end of day a very little fraction of what the government says he pays as subsidy will genuinely be paid. |
Dimeji Bank'ole was asked if he thinks whether a-like of Arab Uprising can ever happen in Nigeria, He answered "NEVER", but one day one day monkey go go market and e no go return o. |
At least 19 people have been shot or hacked to death in a brutal attack in a village in north-west Nigeria, police say. Eyewitnesses said about 150 people raided the village of Lingyado, in Zamfara state close to the border with Niger, with guns and machetes. A police spokesman said it appeared to be a reprisal attack in response to a similar incident in August. Security forces have been sent to the area to restore order. Police spokesman Sunusi Amiru said six others were wounded in the attack and were receiving medical attention. "We are on top of the situation, we are on the trail of the suspects, we have deployed more men to the trouble spots," he told Reuters news agency. The BBC's Nigeria correspondent Jonah Fisher says the victims were attacked as they emerged from their homes. When the shooting began, some residents fled into nearby cornfields, the Associated Press news agency reports. Some of the attackers shouted that they would rape any women they found, one witness, Ahmad Tsauri Lingyado, told AP. One witness, speaking from hospital, told the BBC that his house was targeted first, and that he saw both his grand-daughter and daughter-in-law killed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-15144624 I really dont understand why human live is worthless to some people.Government should raise to the occasion by protecting defenseless citizens. |
@maasoap, exactly what I have waited to ask Beaf, If BEAF sees this administration has 100% flawless, then he must really be paid to do what he his doing on Nairaland. @Okada_man, you always earn my respect. Why didnt the President double check the information before coming to the press? In "The Debater", one of the guys said a quote and the moderator asked him where he got the quote from. He said the President of the United State. The moderator said the quote is very valid because No one has most accurate information as the President. GEJ should understand the magnitude of whatever he says and its effects. |

While we are posting what we desire in a woman/man, we should try to post what you have to offer too. We should not be in a dreamland where it is all about what we want alone. We must be able to complement each other in every aspect and compromise where necessary. If you are searching and feel that something real could come out of this forum for you, why not post ur qualities and your contact ( one that you can always ignore if you want e.g e-mail address). |
@medidress, muslims believe in Jesus Christ. Please preach the gospel elsewhere. @Voltron, Please read the post again. Single Muslims it says and not Single Muslim women. I think its not a must that you reply to every post that does not concerns you. My fellow muslim brothers and sisters, we should not be discourage as our quest for strong-footing in our religion by seeking a muslim brother/sister in marriage is a noble thing. I am sure that many of us have relatives who through marriage have changed. Who should continue to encourage ourselves to do the right everytime. |
@Sacarstic, thank you for the offer. I would not mind taking the offer cos I am dead tired of the house. The truth is that the man is not actually the owner of the house. His younger brother built the house but the poor guy died without enjoying his sweat. After the death of the real owner, this man was brought in to manage the house and use the money to take care of the guy's family and by extension manage the house for the family. This man had once told me not to park in the compound because the compound is full with cars and where I usually park is on the soak-away which is not true. Just recently, our electric meter was stolen and we told him about it. You would not believe what the man said. The borehole is not pumping water again and when we complained he said we should use our money to do it and he will pay us later. This greedy man will not take care of the house but wants to collect money. All the pipes for waste water are bad. I will try consult a lawyer to write to him to reverse his decision on 1year rent. I cant be paying money for value I am not getting. |
My landlord is insisting on collecting 1year rent from me after the Tenancy law was passed. My rent was due at the end of August 2011, but on the 28th of August, the man held a meeting with the tenants and distributed a circular wherein contain a paragraph stating that "house rent must be paid fully every year as at when due. Part payment is not accepted". I need an advice on what to do as not to pay 1year rent but 6months rent as stipulated in the Tenancy Law. There are other issues he man raised in the circular which I think contradict what is stated in the law. Please give me advice on how I can enforce what the law. Thanks |
