What difference does it make.

In the north he can be used as a body shield or apprentice terrorist.

Somewhere in the south, he could be taught how to lie or used as a fake beggar.

Whatever rocks anybody's boat is what occurs

I disagree with your premise but strongly agreed with your conclusion.

We keep saying saner climes when we clearly know that there are different factors that lead to choice of rules and laws. The citizens never Chop well na prisoners you wan make the government dey show love pass the citizens? Let's try to be realistic with our expectations.
cheesy cheesy cheesy

That's why I recommend non imprisonment sentences because it is obvious that our government can't afford taking proper care of inmates.

So community service should suffice in some cases as a disciplinary and correctional measure

Such outcome is not restricted to Nigeria, but that's by the way.

Do you feel non imprisonment of criminals is a better option?
Yes sure, not restricted to Nigeria, but in saner climes, correctional facilities are what they are, no pretense. Rehabilitation and reintegration is very important than punishment.

I feel that not all crime deserves imprisonment.

Jail terms serves no useful purpose to anyone? Please elaborate.
Yes, at least in Nigeria

It serves no useful purpose because it is suppose to be a correctional measure but convicts turn out more dangerous than they were before incarceration

be the one to suffer that never…..,a year of academically missed sections is better than losing a life…… the government should please not use a sentiment over losing a life….beside they was a war in Nigeria that lasted over 3years everything was on stop …..next year of school resumption is not bad….wish the government going to see this
