I never said you did and I only called you out because we've gone back and forth with the critical stinker whose criticisms you value and how wokespotting was dumb from the start
Fair enough, I get where you're coming from. But you know how it goes: once “woke” gets thrown around enough times, it starts feeling like white noise. I rate movies on whether they're actually good, not whether they fit into someone's Twitter checklist. I don’t always agree with Critical Drinker or whoever, but if the point makes sense, cool. If it’s just “movie bad = must be woke,” that’s where I tap out.

So you admit those bozos don't know anything and just want to ragebait? who are you and what have you done with the real illusioneffect?

Also they don't have to call it woke for you to get why they are throwing a tantrum especially with Gunn's comment about him being a immigrant that someone pointed out here days ago saying they have started again.
Furthermore, the term "woke" keeps changing, now it's not "woke" because it's not the kind of woke you care about cheesy cheesy cheesy, y'all crack me up
That’s the wild part—I literally said Superman is a really good movie. Some of y’all get so locked into this “woke/not woke” loop you don’t even clock when someone’s giving the movie props. It’s like if it doesn’t match the outrage script in your head, you just fill in the blanks yourself. I’m not the one calling everything woke—you’re the one seeing ghosts where there aren’t any.

This been posted by the official WH acc is sending me 😩🥲, extremely cringe doesn't even begin to express my feelings..

I hate how motion picture now are overly political. They used to pander to political vices in the past but it was subtle, these days, it's all too glaring and a tad distracting. I dare say, it restricts creative freedom. I just wanna see a fictional alien from a fictional planet, who grew on a farm in a fictional town in Kansas, kick the butts of fictional villains on a grand spectacle on a massive screen but i am hearing reviews like, the new "Superman" is a fk you to Isreal"....., like, yo, you lot gotta to chill, i didn't come here for all that 😩😩
The white House post isn’t just cringe, it’s social self-harm. Begging to feel among when nobody’s even checking for you. Embarrassing government post Fr.

Illusioneffect, how far? Your uncle said it's "woke" or you don't agree because it's a movie you like or it's the kind of "woke" you agree with grin cheesy grin cheesy............

I don't care about this movie or any comic-book related adaptation but nothing sweets me more than to watch these idiots whine and cry in Piers's political theatre including the bloated host himself, AKA, the Jerry Springer of online political content. I can now go to buy multiple tix just to see it, make dem cry harder

Probably just ragebaiting. In his Superman video, Nerdrotic said it isn't woke—just an awful movie. Honestly, anyone who watched it and still shouts "WOKE" either has the critical thinking skills of a wet sock or is flat-out brain-dead.
Plus when did you add me to the list of people who shout woke for every movie

I don't know why you fell for the click bait and started taking what you said about it surpassing 800m back.

Also, thanks for not dropping any spoilers.
I didn't, there's still a likely chance it won't get to 800mn - but I really hope it does really well. The movie is actually damn good!

Imo there nothing wrong with a movie having political messages as long as it's well written and doesn't feel preachy
Every movie has a message but it should never affected the main purpose of movies to entertain

I thought you already saw it yourself. Why is your opinion wavering cos of that post?
It's truly a great movie. All I'm talking about is perception. Some people will not see it because they'll find it woke already🤷🏾‍♂️ and that's not good for business
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Illusioneffect(m): 9:31pm On Jul 06, 2025

Superman will tank because of this?
Not likely but it certainly would affect the morale of the movie. I'm not very sure of a billion anymore. preaching instead of entertaining (which in my opinion it didn't) is Hollywood right now and people don't want that anymore

There's this unpopular opinion that's always been on my mind some years now— I feel Keanu Reeves is just one note. He's not really a good actor to me and/or lacks range. His delivery of dialogue or it's probably the way he talks just takes me out of his scenes in recent movies. He just delivers his dialogue lazily like he's reading the script and not acting. I like him more when he just acts and shoot things up without saying anything.
I know I haven't decisively sit down and watch his magnum opus which brought him to fame— The Matrix trilogy; so I don't know if he was good while younger but his recent movies just brings up his acting deficit when he's not playing John Wick.

His only convincing role for me has been Constantine and that's hardly much cos I ain't even a big fan of that movie.
I feel you. He does sound like he's reading bedtime stories to himself sometimes. Buttt… he’s lowkey built his whole brand off that calm, stoic delivery. It's not range — it's vibe and it Works. Wick? Perfect. Shakespeare? God, no. 😂

Also, My Own Private Idaho — young Keanu actually had chops there. You should peep it.

So yeah, you're not wrong. He isn't the GOAT actor. But he’s Keanu. And somehow… that’s enough.

Superman (2025) – No-Spoiler Review 🎬🦸‍♂️💫

David Corenswet brings Superman to life like never before — strong, soft, hopeful. Rachel Brosnahan? The most Lois Lane Lois Lane we’ve had. Their chemistry? 100% newsroom-flirting-meets-save-the-world energy.

But let’s talk cinematography — gorgeous. This ain’t gray and gritty Metropolis. It’s vibrant, wide-sky America with sunlight that means something. Every frame feels like it believes in Superman as much as he believes in us.

James Gunn cooked definitely his best film ever and that's saying something.
You can tell this wasn’t just a paycheck — it’s personal. He strips Superman down to what matters: hope, decency, and the courage to stay kind in a cruel world. Somehow, he made it feel classic and brand new.

Score: 9.5/10
This isn’t just a superhero movie It's also a political thriller and a non stop thrill ride.
It'll definitely make a lot of money

By the way, Just watched Jurassic world abi park - an average movie but still fun to watch. The most important thing was the Odyssey teaser at the end!!!
Nothing much just Tom Holland talking about his father to the Punisher and waves of water. Very careful teaser giving the fact they just started shooting

Here's the full list for those curious of the TOP 100 21st Century movies:

I've watched 38/100..... 😭😭

Basically that's about 38 movies I've watched so far in a possible 76 I would have watched.

More Chris Nolan movies gets in but farther down the list in the top 100: Memento, Inception, Oppenheimer, Interstellar.
I've watched 59/100. 30% of the ones I've watched shouldn't be on the list

The list is truly ass. I watched Mulholland Drive and it's probably one of the strangest and the weirdest movie I've watched this year - I had to watch YouTube movie to understand the movie. Not even in my top 500. But parasite is no 1 and I can understand that

I find Sydney Sweeney very attractive but I never rated her as an actress and this is why.

She and Ana de Armas are in the same category. Overrated actress who made it in Hollywood because of their sex appeal.

If Sydney wasn't a famous actress, she would be doing Onlyfans.

The advertisement for her bathwater soap is literally softporn.

"Hello dirty little boys, are you interested in my body". WTF is that huh A glamorized cornstar masquerading as an actress.

Your self proclaimed hyper fanaticism with the Harry Potter lore has probably blinded you from discerning your fantasies from logic, ever since this show was announced, to a damn near annoying condescending level tbh.

It's not like you have the screenwriter on speed dial or have a PhD in scriptwriting...you are just in the dark, as we all are, concerning what they are gonna do with the characters. It's not like they haven't changed traits of major characters in adaptations before and considering the times we are in, all bets are off the table.

You have such a high hopes for the prod team, when one of the writers openly claimed, he wasn't arsed to read the books!

Not saying you shouldn't be bubbly about one of your favourite franchises as you claim, but still open your eyes to logic and the signs of the times.
Hey, fair points—but let’s slow the roll a bit 😅. My optimism isn't blind fanaticism, it's based on patterns and actual industry trends. Sure, I don’t have the screenwriter on speed dial (would be nice though lol), but I do follow how reboots are usually handled—especially ones that are this high-profile.

This isn't a "loosely based" adaptation or a soft reboot—it's a book-faithful series. That's the core selling point HBO and Warner Bros have been hammering from the start. They know the fanbase would riot if core character traits of Harry, Hermione, or Ron were fundamentally changed.

Of course changes can happen—and yeah, they have in past adaptations. But the idea that they’d completely reinvent the main trio just for shock value goes against everything they've said. If we were dealing with a Netflix young adult reimagining, sure, I'd be worried too. But this is HBO. Prestige TV. They thrive on deep, layered adaptations that stay true to source while expanding the world tastefully.

Also, one writer not reading the books? That’s annoying, but that’s one person on a massive team. The showrunner and executive producers have the final say—and if they’re backing fidelity to the source, then that matters more than a staff writer.

Bottom line: I’m not saying everyone has to be optimistic, but it’s wild to call it “dumb” to expect professionalism from a studio that’s known for setting high bars. Being hopeful about a beloved series getting proper treatment isn’t blind—it’s just not jaded.

I don't expect them to make the characters different, if they do however, it won't surprise me. I haven't read House of the Dragons books, but I'm very sure Rhaenyrea isn't bisexual and yet the show made it so.
HBO does not prioritise inclusiveness as much as Disney, but they do it nonetheless.
they do because it is 'necessary' to them but it never affects the actual canon of the show. Harry being gay definitely does
