A useless directionless "snuff film" mimic. It's disgusting. Hinges on Sadomasochism, séxual violence, depravity and necrophilia. It's main promotion is the gore and shock value and the themes of the subgenre to keep your attention. Just so many weird sexuàl shït put together with shitty acting and dialogue.
It's a silly film that pretends to be auteuristic in nature. Pretty boring except for the scenes filmed to drive interest and disgust at the same time.
I can pretty see how the film could mess up a lady (the Reddit story of the girl who was messed up by this film) as it essentially degrades women. But I still don't see how this one can affect my mental health in any way. Still, it's a depraved movie I don't recommend to anyone as everyone's mental fortitude is quite different.

I can very well recall HBO doing this same thing 3 years ago and all hell let loose on the internet.......but the final product having come out this past few years and everyone has already forgotten about the black ensemble cast of the Velaryons in House of The Dragon. This would probably be no different.
Besides, it's a fictional character. Make all this fake rage dié down. I'm not enthusiastic about the casting myself but I'll wait for the final product and judge. They've done it before and it didn't impact the enjoyment of the story rather brought more audience and discussions about the characters.
Also, not all adaptation should be like for like...... looking for copy and paste, you can just as well read the Original. That's the beauty that has brought us varieties we didn't know we wanted like Michael Keaton's Batman, Christian Bale's and Robert Pattinson's. Same character, different iterations and style.
What makes these arguments even ironic to me is the fact that the very authors & creators of these books are very much involved in the projects and okayed the decisions, how much more we the viewers? On one side, Tbf, Severus Snape's race wasn't explicitly stated in the source material, and People just came to the conclusion that he was probably white and the movies re echoed this fact.
I think a black broad played Hermione in the stage plays, and J.K Rowling seemed to be cool with it.
