Delaying prayer until night-time because of work Many workers delay Zuhr and ‘Asr prayers until night-time, giving the excuse that they are too busy at work or that their clothes are najis (impure) or not clean. What advice can you give them? Praise be to Allaah. It is not permissible for a Muslim man or woman to delay an obligatory prayer beyond the proper time, rather every accountable Muslim man and woman is obliged to perform the prayers on time as much as they can. Work is not an excuse for delaying prayer, neither is impurity on clothes or clothes being dirty. None of these are acceptable excuses. People should be excused from work at prayer times; at the time of prayer a worker has to wash the impurity from his clothes, or change into clean clothes. As for regular dirt (as opposed to impurities), this does not prevent one from praying in those clothes, so long as that dirt is not impure and does not have an offensive smell that would bother other worshippers. But if the dirt or its smell will bother others, then he has to wash it before praying, or change into clean clothes so that he can pray in congregation. It is permissible for those who have legitimate shar’i excuses, such as those who are sick or are travelling, to combine Zuhr and ‘Asr at the time of either of them, and to combine Maghrib and ‘Isha’ at the time of either of them. This was narrated in the saheeh Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). It is also permissible to join prayers when there is heavy rain or mud, which cause difficulty for people. |
Similar answer from IslamQa Is it permissible to pray in a room in which there are images? Praise be to Allaah. The most correct view is that it is not permissible to pray in a room in which images of animate beings are hanging, on the basis of several reports, including the following: The hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said: the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or images.” (Agreed upon). The hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) who said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) returned from a journey and I had covered an alcove with a blanket on which there were images. When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw it, he tore it down and said, ‘The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who imitate the creation of Allaah.’” (Agreed upon). The hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Jibreel came to me and said: ‘I came to you yesterday and nothing prevented me from entering except that there was a statue by your door, and there was a curtain in your house with images on it, and there was a dog in the house. So tell someone to cut the head off the statue by your door, so it will look like a tree; tell someone to cut up the curtain and make it into floor-cushions that will be stepped on; and tell someone to put the dog outside.’” So the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did that. (Narrated by Abu Dawood, al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad). Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) gave a brief answer to this question, when he was asked: is it permissible to pray in synagogues and churches where there are images, or not? Can we say that they are the houses of Allaah, or not? He replied: they are not the houses of Allaah, for the houses of Allaah are the mosques. These (churches etc.) are houses in which people express their disbelief (kufr) in Allaah. Even though Allaah may be mentioned in them, the house is the same as its occupants, and their occupants are kuffaar, so they are the houses of worship of the kuffaar. As regards praying in them, there are three scholarly views in the Madhhab of Ahmad and others: absolute prohibition, which is the view of Maalik; absolute permission, which is the view of some of the companions of Ahmad; and the third view, which is the correct view and was narrated from ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab and others, and from Ahmad and others. This view states that if there are images in the church, we should not pray there, because the angels do not enter a house in which there are images, and because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not enter the Ka’bah until the images inside it had been wiped out. Similarly, ‘Umar said: we do not enter their churches if there are images inside. Churches are like mosques that are built over graves. In al-Saheehayn it says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was told about a church in Ethiopia, and the adornments and images inside it. He said: “When a righteous man among them dies, they build a mosque (place of worship) over his grave and put those images there. They will be the most evil of people with Allaah on the Day of Resurrection.” But the Sahaabah did pray in churches in which there were no images. And Allaah knows best. |

With magento rest API, you can easily develop an API for your mobile app (Android, iOS et.c) Magento 2 API framework allows developers to create new services for communicating with Magento 2 stores. It supports REST and SOAP web services and is based on CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) and a Search Model. Given the importance of REST API in web apps, It is surprising that a lot of Magento developers ask the question, What is Magento 2 REST API? At the moment, Magento 2 uses the following three authentication methods: OAuth 1.0a authentication for third-party applications. Tokens to authenticate mobile applications. Admins and customers authentication with login credentials. These authentication methods can only access the resources assigned to them. Magento 2 API framework first checks whether the call has appropriate authorization to perform the request. The API framework also supports field filtering of API responses to preserve cellular bandwidth. Developers use Magento 2 APIs for a wide range of tasks. For instance, you can create a shopping app and integrate it with your Magento 2 store. You can also build a web app which your employee could use to help customers make purchases. With the help of APIs, you can integrate your Magento 2 store with CRMs, ERPs or POS systems. Using REST API in Magento 2 Using REST API in Magento 2 is a piece of cake. But for that, you need to understand the flow to call APIs in PHP. If you want to use token-based Magento 2 REST API, first you will need to authenticate and get the token from Magento 2. Then, you will have to pass it in the header of every request you perform. To get started with the REST API in Magento 2 using token-based authentication, you will need to create a web service User Role and register that role to a new Magento 2 Admin User. Keep in mind that creating a new role and user is necessary because it’s not a good practice to use Magento Owner User in a web service. For the purpose of this tutorial, I will also use this REST API to get all the modules installed on your Magento 2 store. Create Web Service Role in Magento 2 To create a web service role in Magento 2, follow these steps: Login to the Magento 2 Admin Panel. Go to System >> User Roles and tap the Add New Role Enter the Role Name. In Your Password field, enter the current password of your Magento 2 Admin. Now, on the left side, click Role Resources. In the Resource Access, select only those that are required for your web service. Once done, hit the Save Role Create Web Service User in Magento 2 Now, create a new user for the newly created role through these steps: Go to System >> All Users and hit the Add New User Enter the required information including User Name, First and Last Name, Email, Password, etc. Now, on the left side, click User Role and select the newly created role. Once done, click the Save User That’s all; now I will use this user to the Magento 2 REST API web service. Magento 2 REST API Authentication As I mentioned earlier, I will authenticate REST API through Token authentication. This means that I will pass a username and password in the initial connection and receive the token . This token will be saved in a variable, which will be passed in the header for further calls. Here is the code: <?php //API URL for authentication $apiURL="http://magento-ilyas.cloudwaysapps.com/index.php/rest/V1/integration/admin/token"; //parameters passing with URL $data = array("username" => "ilyasusernameaccess", "password" => "ilyaspassword); $data_string = json_encode($data); $ch = curl_init($apiURL); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_CUSTOMREQUEST, "POST" ;curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $data_string); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, array("Content-Type: application/json","Content-Length: ".strlen($data_string))); $token = curl_exec($ch); //decoding generated token and saving it in a variable $token= json_decode($token); ?> In the above code, I passed username and password with the API URL to authenticate Magento 2 REST API and then saved the token in a variable for further use. Remember, you have to use the username password of the new user (created earlier). Get Modules Using REST API in Magento 2 You can fetch almost everything using Magento 2 REST API. The List of REST APIs are here http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.0/rest/list.html. To demonstrate the API, I am going to get all the installed modules on a Magento 2 store. Here is the script: <?php //Using above token into header $headers = array("Authorization: Bearer ".$token); //API URL to get all Magento 2 modules $requestUrl='http://magento-ilyas.com/index.php/rest/V1/modules'; $ch = curl_init($requestUrl); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, $headers); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); $result = curl_exec($ch); //decoding result $result= json_decode($result); //printing result print_r($result); ?> Once you execute this code it will show all module in the system Conclusion This is a very broad topic that requires a series of tutorial for complete coverage. The goal of this tutorial was to provide a simple example and demonstrate how easy it is to use REST API for Magento 2. I hope this tutorial proves useful for you and you could answer the question What is Magento 2 REST API? As for today, there are 6 Magento product types available. Those are: 1) Simple Products 2) Grouped Products 3) Configurable Products 4) Virtual Products 5) Bundled Products 6) Downloadable Products It is important to pick the ones that fit you best in order to receive features exactly your online stores requires to perform well. Ask yourself whether you understand the difference between a Magento grouped product and Magento bundle product before reading the text below. This article describes each individual type in brief by highlighting the main advantages and functions. You will find out what to expect. 1) Simple Products As you can guess from its name, it is a physical good that is sold at the store. This one is the most common among all Magento product types. Simple product is recommended to be used for a single unit with no special selectable options. Every item has own SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), price, and inventory. In case you wish, as an admin, you may add desired options with an input price, color, size, or else for the customer’s choice. Even the basic goods have more chances to be sold when you involve some choice. Examples: a glass, a soft toy, a DVD, camera lens, some office supplies or inventory. 2) Configurable (a.k.a. Complex) Products Now this one is far more complicated. Usually, this Magento product type is associated with clothing as far it is the best example. Since clothes are sold in various sizes, shapes, and colors, users wish to “configure” their choices before purchasing. Configurable product is the one made of several simple products. To understand better, pretend you are selling a T-shirt that comes in S, M, and L sizes. You should then develop a simple product for each size. Besides, the colors also differ. You will come up with just as many products as there are different sizes, shapes, and colors. Create a configurable product for the catalog first. Then, under the associated products, an admin picks all the created products for every of the sizes and color. Such configuration creates a drop down menu for all specific clothing features. Customers can easily select the product’s size, color, and any other attributes to satisfy your needs in full. If you wish, you can put a separate price for each option. In addition, you can put inventory levels for every simple product with the different images of your preference. Then, in case the inventory level of the small, blue t-shirt is out of stock, then that option isn’t available (depending on your settings). Product’s stock, price, and other characteristics are monitored on the simple level with configurable product accounting for the initial price. Often, Magento configurable products are known as parent products while corresponding simple products are called child. Examples: dress with different colors and sizes available, snickers with different sizes available, flashdrive with different volume etc. 3) Grouped Products This one refers to the set of simple products. Usually, those are goods with the same features, related to each other. This type is the best for promotional goals. Magento grouped products comes in handy with the items that accomplish them (like accessories). It means that instead of buying a memory card, USB, and a device, a customer will get all three by making a single purchase which is very convenient. Besides, often such goods come at a special price. It would be useful whenever you decide to catch an eye of potential customers with vivid promotion campaigns. Examples: camera lens + mini SD card + a digital camera itself, a smartphone with stylish case and wireless charger, Magento Red Furniture set featuring Ottoman, Chair, and Couch. 4) Bundle Products Magento bundle product makes it possible for the customers to construct product they desire. This type is applied for a bundle of simple or virtual goods that cannot be sold separately because it makes no sense. Is there a reason to purchase laptop without a hard disc, processor, and internal memory? That’s the point. Often, this type is confused with the previous one, but, unlike grouped product, bundle one provides the end user with the choice: they can combine any products they want (color, size, memory, capacity, etc.). You can assign inventory to every individual item. It is possible to make them visible, so that someone could purchase extra cards as well. In addition, buying all offered items together saves a plenty of money. Examples: camera body for ₦50,000 + lens that can be selected from: no lens at all, a basic lens for ₦20,000, or professional lens for ₦50,000 + memory card with options: no memory card at all, 8 GB card for ₦2000, a 16 GB card for ₦3200, and a 32 GB card for ₦5200. 5) Downloadable Products (also a simple one) You have to upload files via the back-end to the server through the admin or FTP before offering downloadable product. Input its price (if any) and other additional information. There is an opportunity of hosting the files on another web server. It’s up to Magento then to provide a secure, encrypted personalized link to every customer. Mind that this type of Magento product may consist of one or more downloadable files, so you have the option to require all of them to be purchased. No shipping options are offered as far as there is nothing to be shipped. It’s up to you to decide whether your customer will be able to choose the files to be included in the purchase. After the link is generated, the customer is then capable of accessing all the downloadable files purchased from the account’s corresponding section. But in this case you risk your file will be stored and shared with someone else. Anyway, Magento does not cover digital rights management. Examples: some Magento extensions, applications, games, software, music files, E-books, etc. 6) Virtual Products Magento virtual product was developed for those goods that do not need to be shipped, downloaded or delivered at all. These products are known as intangible goods; they also do not need any stock management. Examples: online consulting or support services, online language courses, technical service, insurance, reservation. What Is Missed? As a rule, Magento can cover most of E-commerce needs. However, some exceptions are not available by default: recurring subscription and rental items. But there is a number of great free and paid extensions offered to solve any of these issues. Now that you are aware of all basic facts about Magento products, you can choose the one you believe fits your online store the best. If you have any questions about anything I’ve mentioned in this blog post or anything else related to Magento, please feel free to drop me a message at ilyas.muy@gmail.com.
