The crux is this: would you maintain the same energy if other religions responded the same way? That's the summary and we both know the answer.

The truth is, internally, Christians don't think and believe that non-christians know God. Also, Muslims don't think and believe that non-muslims know God. Extra talk: Comparing it to evangelism is ignorance and disingenuous. Christians have been doing evangelism over 5 centuries before islam was dreamed up. It is a clear Bible command, it is not the way of muslims. The muslim way of making disciples is totally different as you know and as in the koran. Sorry to hear about the OP's plight; it's not uncommon in the different denominations and countries all over the world. This is why everyone is taught and encouraged to know God for himself. Those that Do know their God will be strong and do exploits. The churches have much more to do, but truth be told, the bulk of the fault lies at the step, door and front of the members.
The Bible is written and available in different versions and suitable language that makes you without excuse. You are not illiterate. The little (actually much) that i know about your church is that you are encouraged to read and study the Bible. If you read and studied the Bible, you will not be in chains for this long and then enter into another round of chains. It is also wrong to say that you are not allowed to ask questions in the church, the little (actually much) that i know about your church services allows for question and answers every or almost every Sunday. Also, you can also meet up with your pastors or youth pastors to ask questions. i relate with and have related with your church members, even here on nairaland i have a good friend Ola. i wonder how and where you were not allowed to relate. Like someone mentioned, even the church pastors children are relating with outsiders. Their programmes show that they are relating with others outside the denomination, though i know them to be quite conservative.
